Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this research is to know marketing institution, marketing channel, marketing function, market structure, market behavior, market performance, marketing cost, marketing margin, marketing profit and marketing efficiency of beef cattle in animal market Suka Village TigapanahSubdistrictKaro District. The research conducted in the animal market of Suka Village TigapanahSubdistrictKaro District from March until April 2017. This research used primary data obtained from observation and interview of respondents. Determination of respondents with snowball sampling method that has 30 respondents. Secondary data is obtained from related institutions such as the Central Agency of Statistics and the Karo District Agricultural Departement. The parameters studied were marketing institution, marketing channel, marketing function, market structure, market conduct, market performance, marketing margin, farmer's share and profit to cost ratio. The results is marketing institutions involved are farmers and agent. The marketing channels are the first two channels: the farmer - the consumer and the second channel: the farmer – the agent - the consumer. Marketing functions undertaken by marketing institutions are the functions of exchange, physical and facilities. The market structure is oligopoly and oligopsoni. Market conduct is the practice of pricing away from dishonesty and marketing costs are not uniform and the absence of intervention from the government. Market performance is that there is no technological progress and no improvement of product quality and service maximization. Marketing margin of cannel I is Rp.0 and channel II is Rp.815.384. Farmer's share of channel I is 100% and channel II is 95.59%. The profit to cost ratio of channel I is 105,86 and channel II is 2,55. The conclusion of this research is the marketing of beef cattle in the animal market of Suka Village TigapanahSubdistrictKaro District has been efficient. Keyword : efficiency, beef cattle, market

Abstract

Abstract. This study objective was to determine the effect of livestock characteristics in determining the selling price of buffalo in the Subdistrict Siborongborong, North Tapauli District, starts from April to May 2017. The sampling method used is Proportional Stratified Random Sampling. This study used primary data obtained from observation and interview respondents and secondary data obtained from the relevant agencies such as the Institution Central Bureau of Statistics and the Department of Agriculture of North TapanuliDistrik. Respondent of decide snowball sampling method that has 74 respondents obtained from the Villagesuch us : Pohan Jae 18 respondents, Village Siborongborong II 12 respondents, Village LobuSiregar II 17 respondents, Village Siaro 12 respondents, Village Silaitlait 8 respondents, Village SitabotaboDolok 3 respondents, Village sitabotaboToruan 4 respondents. The parameters studied were the characteristics of livestock that is horn, the location of feather vortex and the amount of vortex of feathers to the selling. Data analysis in this study is to see the relation of the selling price and characteristics of buffalo, in using multiple linear regression analysis.The result of research indicates that the habit of Batak Tribe society in using buffalo as one of the ceremony of traditional ceremony gives influence to the difference of buffalo selling price mast influence amoung parameters to selleng price buffalo is horn , The location of the feather vortex and the amount of feather vortex in Siborongborong Sub-district, North Tapanuli regency North Tapanuli District. Abstract

This research was conducted at The Animal Biology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, SumateraUtara University from December 2015 to March 2016. This research aimed to determine the ability of cassapro to substitute corn in feed on the performances of kampung chicken. Experimental design used in this research was completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. Each treatment consisted of comparison between corn and cassapro at ratio 60:0 (P0), 50:10 (P1), 40:20 (P2), 30:30 (P3), 20:40 (P4). 100 kampung chickens was used in this research with replications consists of 5 DOC. The results showed that the average of feed consumption (g/head/week) on treatment P0, P1, P2, P3 and P4 respectively 327,9; 327,3; 326,93; 325,77 and 326,33. The average of body weight gain (g/head/week) on treatment P0, P1, P2, P3 and P4 respectively 56,46; 59,47; 60,79; 56,44 and 56,74 also the FCR on treatment P0, P1, P2, P3 and P4 respectively 5,82; 5,52; 5,38; 5,79 and 5,7. The anova result showed that there is no difference from treatments on tested parameters. The conclution of this research is that cassapro have the ability to substitute corn in kampung chicken’s feed.

Abstract

This study’s objective was to investigate the income and R / C of sheep business. This research was conducted on Cilawan Village,Pantai Cermin Sub District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, Sumatera Utara Province for 2 months starting from September until November 2017. The study was a survey which used Determination Method. Number of samples were 30% of total number of breeder in research area; there were 8 respondents whose intensive breeders and 30 respondents whose semi intensive breeders. The data used in this research were primary data and secondary data. Primary data were the result of interviews with respondents and secondary data were obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics. The results showed that intensive breeder earned income smaller compared to semi intensive breeder. Income on every sheep sale was Rp 3.468.241,-on intensive and Rp 5.794.982,- on semi intensive breeder and the value of R/C was 0.144. The conclusion of this study that sheep breeding system in Celawan Village Regency consisted of two maintenance system, intensive and semi intensive system which gave different effect to farmer's income. This was because intensive maintenance systems required more costs for feed and labor costs compared to semi intensive system.
