Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

The of a weed of immature oil palm on peat area is generally dominated by ferns as Stenochlaena palustris and Biserrata nephrolepis. Herbicide used to control ferns on peat is such limited. This research aimed to evaluate the bioefficacy of saflufenacil alone and combination with other herbicide ( glifosat, glufosinat, paraquat, metsulfuron methyl ) on peat land. This research is used randomized complete block design non factorial with there were 10 different  herbicide treatment including paraquat (1500 g a.i.ha-1), glufosinat (3500 g a.i.ha-1), glifosat ( 1500 g a.i.ha-1), saflufenacil (75 g a.i.ha-1), saflufenacil (60 g a.i.ha-1) + paraquat (1500 g a.i.ha-1), saflufenacil (75 g a.i.ha-1) + glifosat (1500 g a.i.ha-1), saflufenacil (75 g a.i.ha-1) + glufosinat (1500 g a.i.ha-1), saflufenacil (75 g a.i.ha-1) + metil metsufuron (75 g a.i.ha-1), saflufenacil (75 g a.i.ha-1) + ( paraquat 1500 g a.i.ha-1) and without control. The highest percentage (88,1%) of weed control visually is caused by saflufenacil 75 g a.i.ha-1 + paraquat 1500 g a.i.ha-1 whereas the lowest (50,1%) is due to saflufenacil 75 g a.i.ha-1. Similarly the highest mortality of Stenochlaena palustris (86,94%) is caused by saflufenacil 75 g a.i.ha-1 + paraquat 1500 g a.i.ha-1. The highest mortality of Nephrolepis biserrata (74,07%) is due to saflufenacil 75 g a.i.ha-1 + metil metsulfuron 75 g a.i.ha-1.   Keywords : oil palm, peat land, saflufenacil, weed control.

Abstract

Increased soybean yields have a meaning in the food industry. The expansion of planting area is one of extensification effort of soybean. Soybean planted on palm oil productive interrow is an alternative to increasing productivity. Soybean responsed plants to light low is the changed in morphology and yield. The objective of the research was to studied growth and yield of soybean varieties on differences light intensity. This research used Factorial Split Plot Design with 3 replications. The main plot were: differences light intensity 30% and 50% and sub plot were: 4 soybean varieties (Grobogan, Anjasmoro, Dena 1, Wilis). This research conducted Deli Serdang district, North Sumatera. The effect of treatment differenes light intensity was not significant on plant height, stem diameter, leaf area index, productive brances, and dry weight of seed. Each of the varieties gave different responses to the plant height and productive branches. The differences light intensity treatment on the variety will increase the leaf area index  in line with the decrease in light intensity except on the grobogan varieties.   Keyword: Oil palm shading, soybean varieties.

Abstract

Rain is the main source of water in oil palm plantations and a factor that greatly affects the growth and production of crops. This research was to evaluate the effect of rainfall and rain day on the productivity of oil palm aged 7, 15 and 19 years. This research is done in Aek Loba Plantation PT.Socfin Indonesia. District Asahan Province of North Sumatera from July until october. This reasearch used primary data available in company administration. Primary data for the purposes of data analysis includes fresh fruit bunches (FFB) production in 2014, 2015, and 2016, rainfall data and rain day data monthly in 2013, 2014, and 2015. Analysis method used are double linier regression and correlation analysis. The model tested its feasibility with classical assumption test including normality test, heteroscedasticity test, multicolinearity test, and autocorrelation test using SPSS.v.22 for windows. From the classical assumption test conducted, it is concluded that the regression equation in oil palm plant age 7, 15, and 19 years has been qualified to be followed by multiple linear regression analysis and correlation analysis. The result of regression analysis shows that rainfall and rainy day variables have no significant effect on increasing the productivity of FFB in oil palm crop at age 7, 15 and 19 years at α 5 % (sig < α 0,05). The results of the analysis on plants aged 7, 15, and 19 years with two-way analysis showed significantly rainfall and rainfall variables on FFB productivity. In 7 years old oil palm trees showed enough correlation with value of 0.602 and 0.606. In 15 years old oil palm trees showed a rather week correlation of 0.544; 0.477. In 19 years old oil palm trees showed a rather week  and week correlation of 0.494; 0.372.

Abstract

In order to get a good seed, the source of planting material usually uses 6 - 8 months. Storage of  sugarcane bud set aims to maintain the viability of the seeds as long as the bud set is not ready for planting. This research was conducted on the land of the Agriculture Faculty, University of Sumatera Utara, Medan in April - July 2017, using factorial randomized block design with two factors, i.e. age of planting material (6, 7, and 8 months) and storage periods (24, 48, 72 hours). The results showed that 7 months planting material gave the best plant lenght and seeds diameter. Using 7 months planting material with 72 hours storage periods gave best shoot growth percentage.
