Abstract

The rapid digitization of financial services, particularly "Buy Now, Pay Later" (BNPL) products like Shopee PayLater, raises concerns about unsustainable spending, especially among tech-savvy millennials. Grounded in a post-positivist philosophy, this study investigates whether financial literacy acts as a protective moderator, weakening the positive influence of general financial technology (FinTech) adoption and specific Shopee Pay-Later use on consumptive behavior. A prudential-financial attitude was incorporated as a direct antecedent to provide a holistic model. Data were collected via a structured survey from 150 purposively sampled millennials (aged 20-45) in Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, who are active digital commerce users. The hypotheses were tested using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results confirmed that FinTech adoption, Shopee PayLater use, and financial attitude are all significant positive predictors of consumptive behavior. Crucially, financial literacy was found to be a significant negative moderator for the Shopee PayLater-consumption pathway, demonstrating its regulatory power in the context of targeted credit products. However, its moderating effect on the general FinTech-consumption link was not significant, suggesting that broad digital tool adoption may influence spending through channels beyond rational financial assessment. This nuanced outcome aligns with the post-positivist view that human behavior is complex and not fully determined by rational knowledge alone. These findings offer critical insights for policymakers and financial educators, indicating that literacy interventions may be most effective when specifically tailored to the mechanisms of popular BNPL services rather than digital finance in general.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out how profitability, liquidity, leverage and firm value affect firm value. The correlations among the variables were examined using a causal study design and a quantitative technique. Eighteen firms, all involved in the automotive and component industries, that were listed on the IDX between 2015 and 2024 make up the study's population. Five firms selected through purposive sampling consistently published full financial statements over the course of the ten-year study. A total of 50 observations were included in the research and evaluated using EViews 13. The primary technique for analysis was panel data regression. Firm value is positively and significantly impacted by profitability and leverage, according to the data. Firm value is significantly and negatively impacted by firm size. On the other hand, liquidity doesn't seem to have much of an impact on company valuation.  Keywords: profitability, liquidity, leverage, firm size, firm value

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of liquidity, solvency, activity, and profitability on financial distress. This research employs a causal research design. The population consists of textile companies listed on the Corporations registered on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2015 and 2024 were examined, with five entities chosen through purposive criteria. Panel regression techniques were employed to process the dataset. The findings indicate that liquidity, , solvency, and activity do not exhibit a meaningful influence on financial distress, whereas profitability measured through Return on Assets (ROA) indicates a negative correlation suggesting that increased profitability lowers distress probability. This research enriches academic discourse by offering data-driven findings derived from the Indonesian textile sub-sector using a longer observation period (2015–2024), capturing financial dynamics before, before, throughout, and following the COVID-19 outbreak, as well as offering insights for management and investors in assessing financial conditions. Keywords: Liquidity; Solvency; Activity; Profitability; Financial Distress

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how firm value in the processed food subsector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange between 2015 and 2024 is affected by profitability, leverage, business size, and liquidity. This study uses a quantitative technique and a causality research design. Purposeful sampling was used to choose ten of the 19 processed food companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange as the sample. EViews 13 software was used to process 100 observations of secondary data from annual financial statements. Panel data regression analysis is the data analysis technique used in this study to look at the association between variables. The findings demonstrate that business value as determined by Tobin's Q is positively and significantly impacted by profitability as determined by ROA. However, company size has a substantial negative impact on firm value. However, the DER and CR, which are stand-ins for leverage and liquidity, have no effect on corporate value. Keyword: profitability, leverage, firm size, liquidity, firm value
