Abstract

Dental and oral health is a health problem that requires comprehensive treatment, because dental problems are of a broad dimension and have wide-ranging impacts including physical, mental and social factors for individuals suffering from dental diseases. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the emergence of dental caries in children aged 10-12 years at SDN 59 / IV Jambi City in 2019. This research design uses cross sectional. The sampling technique used was random sampling, which was a random sampling technique, with a total sample of 40 people. Measuring instruments used were questionnaires and dental caries observation sheets. Chi square test results that there is a relationship between dental health knowledge with dental caries status (DMF-T) in children aged 10-12 years SDN 59 / IV Jambi city with a value of Sig = 0.028 or p value ≤ 0.05. There is a relationship between maintenance of dental health with dental caries status (DMF-T) in students aged 10-12 years SDN 59 / IV Lotus with a value of Sig = 0.017 or p value ≤ 0.05. There is a relationship between how to brush teeth with dental caries status in students aged 10-12 years SDN 59 / IV Jambi city with a value of Sig = 0.013 or p value ≤ 0.05.

Abstract

Art Therapy is a process of using art media in therapeutic interventions. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of art therapy on knowledge and practice of brushing teeth in preschool-aged children. This type of quasi-experimental research used a one group pre-post test design involving 32 preschool children aged 4-6 years. Data analysis used the Wilxocon test and the Mann Whitney test. The results showed that the average increase in knowledge was greater in the intervention group (art therapy) of 3.0 compared to the control group (fairy tales) of 1.8. The average increase in behavior was greater in the intervention group (art therapy) of 2.6 compared to the control group (fairy tales) of 2.5. There are significant differences in knowledge and behavior between art therapy and fairy tales, so it can be concluded that art therapy is more effective than fairy tales

Abstract

Problem statement:. This tooth brushing technique consists of several methods that can be used. Its success also depends on the brushing method used. Tooth brushing methods include Bass, Stillman, Fones, Horizontal, Vertical, Roll, and Combination. The behavior of brushing teeth in Jambi Province is 96.4% who brush their teeth every day and 0.69% when brushing their teeth properly.Objectives: 1) To find out the average plaque score for elementary school students who brush their teeth using the horizontal method and the combination method as measured by PHP-M. 2) Knowing the difference between horizontal brushing and the combination method on plaque scores in elementary school students in Jambi City.Method: The method used in this research is to use the waterfall method. The data will be analyzed analytically (bivariate). After getting the data, then the data is tested for normality, when the data is declared more than 0.05 then the Independent T Test is used, which is a type of parametric test to find out whether there is a difference from the estimated value with the value of the statistical calculation.Scientific finding results, and a short conclusion : The obtained significance is 0.000 less than the significant level (α) = 0.05, which means that there is a significant difference between the average plaque scores after the combination method group treatment with the horizontal method. In table t obtained t count -6.119, which means that the average plaque score after the combination method group treatment is lower than the horizontal group.

Abstract

Oral health  is a condition that cannot be separated from the life of a child because poor of dental health will affect the other bodies. Education of oral health can improving oral health status, because the good education will be improved an effort to maintenance oral health. Improving health knowledge for early childhood can optimizing health promotion because the information will adhere effectively for them. It is important to develop appropriate media for health education in early childhood so the goals of health promotion can be achieved. This study was aim to develop oral health promotion media using virtual reality and to obtain the effectifeness of that media.This study was consist of development research and experimental research that develop virtual reality media and obtain the effectiveness of that media for improving oral health knowledge. This study conducted at SD Negeri 150/IV Jambi City. The stages of development research was done based on the ADDIE method. The method of experimental research was quasi experimental. Validation by expert was involved six expert that covering about design and material. There were eighty eight students to be subjects of this study, fourty for development research and fourty eight for experimental research. The data collected in this study were in the form of qualitative data and quantitative data. The study shown that virtual reality media was decent to use for oral health promotion and it was proven can improving oral health knowledge.

Abstract

ABSTRAKLatar Belakang: Data Riskesdas menunjukkan proporsi perilaku menyikat gigi pada penduduk usia ≥ 3 tahun di provinsi Jambi adalah yang terrendah. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan menyikat gigi yang benar dengan menggunakan metode kombinasi demonstrasi dengan phantom gigi dan media video.Metode: metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan mengenai pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan menggosok gigi yang baik dan benar pada guru dan murid Ponpes Al-Muttaqin Ibru, Al-Ihya Ulumaddin dan Nur Sumayah Kabupaten Muaro Jambi serta pembuatan fasilitas menyikat gigi.Hasil: terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan pada siswa (p value 0,000) secara bermakna namun tidak pada responden guru (p=0,083)Kesimpulan: penggunaan metode kombinasi demonstrasi dan video efektif dalam menigkatkan pengetahuan siswa tentang menyikat gigi ABSTRACT Background: Riskesdas data shows that the proportion of tooth brushing behavior in the population aged 3 years in Jambi province is the lowest. This community service aims to increase knowledge of proper tooth brushing by using a combination demonstration method with phantom teeth and video media.Methods: The method used was education on the knowledge, attitudes and skills of brushing teeth properly and correctly to teachers and students of Islamic Boarding School Al-Muttaqin Ibru, Al-Ihya Ulumaddin and Nur Sumayah, Muaro Jambi Regency, as well as making tooth brushing facilities.Result: there was an increase in students' knowledge (p value 0.000) significantly but not in teacher respondents (p = 0.083)Conclusion: the use of a combination of demonstration and video methods is effective in increasing students' knowledge about brushing teeth
