Abstrak Latar belakang: Komunikasi merupakan aspek penting yang harus di miliki oleh perawat gigi dalam melaksanakanpelayanan asuhan keperawatan gigi pada pasien. Komunikasi yang diterapkan oleh perawat kepada pasien merupakankomunikasi terapetik yang mempunyai tujuan untuk mencapai kesembuhan pasien. Ketrampilan berkomunikasi yang baikdan benar serta efektif yang berdampak terapetik merupakan kemampuan penting yang harus di miliki oleh semua tenagapelayanan kesehatan terutama perawat gigi. Kemampuan ini perlu ditumbuh kembangkan sehingga menjadi kebiasaan bagiperawat dalam menjalankan aktivitasnya sehari-hari. Upaya untuk membiasakan pola komunikasi yang terapetik ini dapatdilakukan dengan cara memperdalam pemahaman tentang tujuan komunikasi terapetik, pengertian komunikasi terapetik,teknik komunikasi terapetik dan berani mengaplikasikan fase-fase (tahapan-tahapan) komunikasi tersebut dalammemberikan pelayanan asuhan keperawatan gigi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan pengetahuandan kemampuan komunikasi terapetik perawat gigi pada pelayanan asuhan keperawatan gigi di Puskesmas Wilayah KotaJambi.Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode pendekatan cross sectional study dan pengumpulandata dari data primer yang diperoleh dari kuesioner yang di isi oleh responden dan lembar observasi.Hasil: Uji statistik menunjukkan pengetahuan komunikasi terapetik perawat gigi pada pelayanan asuhan keperawatan gigidi Puskesmas Kota Jambi kriteria tinggi sebanyak 65% sedangkan pengetahuan komunikasi terapetik yang rendah 35 %.Kemampuan komunikasi terapetik perawat gigi terhadap pelayanan asuhan keperawatan gigi di puskesmas Kota Jambikriteria baik 55% sedangkan kurang sebanyak 45%. Hasil uji statistik di dapatkan p value = 0,042, artinya ada hubunganyang signifikan pengetahuan komuniaksi terapetik dengan kemampuan komunikasi terapetik perawat gigi pada pelayananasuhan keperawatan gigi dan mulut di Puskesmas Kota Jambi.Kesimpulan: Pengetahuan komuniaksi terapetik berhubungan secara signifikan dengan kemampuan komunikasi terapetikperawat gigi pada pelayanan asuhan keperawatan gigi dan mulut di Puskesmas Kota Jambi Abstrack Background: Communication is an important aspect that must be possessed by dental nurses in performing dental careservices in dental patients. The communication applied by the nurse to the patient is a therapeutic communication that hasthe purpose to achieve the patient's recovery. Good and correct communication skills and effective therapeutic impacts areimportant capabilities that all health care workers, especially dental nurses, must have. This ability needs to be developedso that it becomes a habit for nurses in carrying out their daily activities. Efforts to familiarize this therapeuticcommunication pattern can be done by deepening the understanding of therapeutic communication objectives, therapeuticcommunication, therapeutic communication techniques and bold applying phases (stages) of such communication inproviding dental care services. The purpose of this research is to know the correlation of therapeutic knowledge andcommunication ability of dental nurse on dental care services at Puskesmas Area of Jambi City.Methods: This was a quantitative research with cross sectional study approach. Primary data were collected from fromquestionnaires filled by respondents and observation sheet.Results: Statistical test showed thattherapeutic communication knowledge of dental nurse on dental care service at JambiPuskesmas in high criteria as much as 65% while therapeutic communication knowledge were low 35%. The therapeuticcommunication ability of dental nurse to dental care services at Jambi Health Clinic good criteria 55% while less as muchas 45%. The result of statistical test were p value = 0,042, it means there is significant correlation of knowledge oftherapeutic communications with therapeutic communication ability of dental nurse on dental and mouth nursing careservice at Puskesmas Jambi.Conclusion: Significant correlation were found between knowledge of therapeutic communications with therapeuticcommunication ability of dental nurse on dental and mouth nursing care service at Puskesmas Jambi

Mother's knowledge about dental health will greatly determine health status of her child's teeth later. Mothers have an important role in their family, as a wife and as a mother. The first figure that is known to the child as soon as he is born is the mother, therefore mother’s behavior and habits can be emulated by child. In the other side, knowledge is not enough to detrmine child dental health, it needs to be followed by commendable attitudes and actions. The Australian dental association has revealed that: "the health of the teeth is the responsibility of his mother". This can be understood because generally the one closest to the child from the age of breastfeeding is his mother. Dental caries is a problem that still not resolved completely in the world. Oral and dental diseases are the most common diseases that experienced by Indonesian people (by 60%). This study aim to determine the relationship of maternal knowledge about maintaining dental health with the status of children’s caries in Al-Hikmah Kindergarten Jambi City in 201. This study can be used to increase further coaching by Jambi Department of Dental Nursing education Ministry of Health. This type of research is descriptive with a cross sectional study design. The study population was the mother and daughter of Al-Hikmah Kindergarten in Jambi City. This study using total sampling population. There are 180 peoples that included in this study which is 90 peoples mothers and 90 peoples children.This study’s hypothesis is the relationship between maternal knowledge about maintaining dental health and caries status in children of Al-Hikmah Kindergarten in Jambi City in 2018. The results of the study showed that mothers with low category of knowledge about maintaining dental and oral health were 53 people (58.9%), while mothers with high category were 37 people (41.1%). Children’s Caries status was 87 people (96.7%) who experienced caries, while there were only 3 caries-free people (3.3%). There is no relationship between the knowledge of mothers about the maintenance of dental and oral health with caries status in children of Al-Hikmah Kindergarten in Jambi City in 2018 with a significance value of 1,000 (p> 0.05).

Background: Efforts to improve oral health can be done with preventive and curative measures. Prevention or prevention of dental and oral diseases get top priority. Therefore, it is necessary to develop effective extension media in improving the skills of brushing teeth in the Anak Dalam Tribe in Palempang Village, Muaro Jambi Regency, Jambi Province.The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the health education video using Jambi's traditional languange in improving toothbrushing skills in the Anak Dalam Tribe in Palempang Village, Muaro Jambi Regency, Jambi Province.. Methods: The design of this study was a Research and Devolution study and data collection from primary data obtained from observation of dental health brushing skills. A sample of 40 people Results: The results of the analysis obtained by the extension of the video in the Jambi-language speaking area was effective in increasing the skills of toothbrushing in children of Suku Anak Dalam in Palempang Village, Muaro Jambi Regency, Jambi Province, indicated by the significance value at 0,000 (p <0.05). It is recommended that dental health personnel carry out promotional and oral health promotion efforts using a Jambi language-language education video for children of Suku Anak Dalam.

One of the causes of oral problems is the oral hygiene neglect. Despite the high knowledge in oral health care, lot of children still unable to improve their attitude and practice towards oral health care. The aim of this study is to define the association of knowledge level with behaviour towards oral health care in students of SDN 36/IV Jambi in 2018. This is a cross sectional study comprised of 59 subjects recruited by total sampling method. Data collected from questionnaire filled by subjects followed by chi square analysis. The high, moderate and low knowledge level of SDN 36/IV Jambi students were 66,1%, 32,2% and 1,7% respectively. 67,8% subjects had good behaviour towards oral health care, while the other 32,2% had moderate behaviour. No significant association found between knowledge level and behaviour towards oral health care in students of SDN 36/IV Jambi in 2018 (sig=0,446; p ˂ 0,05).

Dental and oral health is a health problem that requires comprehensive treatment, because dental problems are of a broad dimension and have wide-ranging impacts including physical, mental and social factors for individuals suffering from dental diseases. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the emergence of dental caries in children aged 10-12 years at SDN 59 / IV Jambi City in 2019. This research design uses cross sectional. The sampling technique used was random sampling, which was a random sampling technique, with a total sample of 40 people. Measuring instruments used were questionnaires and dental caries observation sheets. Chi square test results that there is a relationship between dental health knowledge with dental caries status (DMF-T) in children aged 10-12 years SDN 59 / IV Jambi city with a value of Sig = 0.028 or p value ≤ 0.05. There is a relationship between maintenance of dental health with dental caries status (DMF-T) in students aged 10-12 years SDN 59 / IV Lotus with a value of Sig = 0.017 or p value ≤ 0.05. There is a relationship between how to brush teeth with dental caries status in students aged 10-12 years SDN 59 / IV Jambi city with a value of Sig = 0.013 or p value ≤ 0.05.

Problem statement:. This tooth brushing technique consists of several methods that can be used. Its success also depends on the brushing method used. Tooth brushing methods include Bass, Stillman, Fones, Horizontal, Vertical, Roll, and Combination. The behavior of brushing teeth in Jambi Province is 96.4% who brush their teeth every day and 0.69% when brushing their teeth properly.Objectives: 1) To find out the average plaque score for elementary school students who brush their teeth using the horizontal method and the combination method as measured by PHP-M. 2) Knowing the difference between horizontal brushing and the combination method on plaque scores in elementary school students in Jambi City.Method: The method used in this research is to use the waterfall method. The data will be analyzed analytically (bivariate). After getting the data, then the data is tested for normality, when the data is declared more than 0.05 then the Independent T Test is used, which is a type of parametric test to find out whether there is a difference from the estimated value with the value of the statistical calculation.Scientific finding results, and a short conclusion : The obtained significance is 0.000 less than the significant level (α) = 0.05, which means that there is a significant difference between the average plaque scores after the combination method group treatment with the horizontal method. In table t obtained t count -6.119, which means that the average plaque score after the combination method group treatment is lower than the horizontal group.

Background: Mentally retarded children are children who are retarded in their mental development, so they experience obstacles in doing something work compared to other children of the same age. The aim of the study was to determine the effectiveness of counseling with video media in increasing knowledge and free plaque scores for mentally retarded students at SLBN 1 Jambi City. Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental study with the pre-test and post-test group design. The sample is SLBN 1 Jambi City students with mental retardation, totaling 40 people. The sampling technique used was the purposive sampling method. Result: There was an increase in knowledge of mentally retarded students at SLBN 1 Jambi City with high criteria having increased from 25% to 65% after receiving intervention. The average Free Plaque Score for mentally retarded students at SLBN 1 Jambi City increased from 26.23% to 82.85% after receiving intervention. The p-value of 0.000 <0.05 means that there is a significant difference between the value of knowledge and the Free Plaque Score before and after the intervention Conclusion: Counseling using video media is effective in increasing knowledge and the Free Plaque Score for mentally retarded students at SLBN 1 Jambi City.

Penduduk di Provinsi Jambi memiliki masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut sebesar sebesar 37,7%, dan anak usia 10-14 tahun di Indonesia menyikat gigi setiap harinya sebesar 96,5%, dan yang menyikat gigi dengan waktu yang tepat hanya 1,4 %. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat edukasi pemeliharaan kesehatan gigi danmulut pada murid SDN 23/IX dan SDN 56/IX Desa Pondok Meja Kecamatan Mestong Jambi. Metode Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yaitu metode penyuluhan dan demonstrasi, untuk mengedukasi pemeliharaan kesehatan gigi dan mulut dan keterampilan cara menyikat gigi pada murid kelas IV SDN 23/IX dan SDN 56/IX Desa Pondok Meja Kecamatan Mestong Kab. Muaro Jambi yang berjumlah 86 orang. pengetahuan pemeliharaan kesehatan gigi dan mulut pada murid kelas IV SDN 23/IX dan SDN 56 Desa Pondok Meja Kecamatan Mestong Kabupaten Muaro Jambi dari 38,1% menjadi 90,5% dan dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menyikat gigi dari yang mampu 20% menjadi mampu 80%. ABSTRAKLatar Belakang: Hasil Riskesdas tahun 2018 sebesar 41,4% anak berusi 10-14 tahun di Indonesia memiliki masalah pada kesehatan gigi dan mulutnya dan sebesar 37,7% penduduk di Provinsi Jambi memiliki masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut, dan 96,5% anak usia 10-14 tahun di Indonesia menyikat gigi setiap harinya, dan 1,4 % yang menyikat gigi dengan waktu yang tepat. Metode: Murid kelas I, II, III Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliayah Al-Banat Kab. Muaro Jambi yang berjumlah 68 orang belum pernah mendapatkan penyuluhan kesehatan gigi dan mulut dari petugas kesehatan.Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan cara menyikat gigi dengan media poster pada murid Kelas I, II, III Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliayah Al-Banat Kab. Muaro Jambi Hasil: adanya peningkatan pengetahuan cara menyikat gigi pada kriteria tinggi sebelum diberi penyuluhan sebesar 29,41% menjadi 82,35% sesudah diberi penyuluhan dengan menggunakan media poster.
