Abstract

From a sociohistorical-anthropological perspective, the existence of an elite class with a class of people is known in the Qur’an. This research elaborates the verses of the Qur’an about elite society in social order. The existence of an elite society and its role in human civilization is the main concern in this study. Through the thematic interpretation method, typology and the role of elite society are explained. The terms prophet, apostle, malik, and al-mala’ refer to the elite. Prophets and messengers are elite groups based on revelation, malik based on political power relations. The term al-mala’ is part of an elite society divided into three groups, namely al-mala’, which opposes the apostles, al-mala’, which does not oppose the da’wah of the apostles, and al-mala’ which has a hypocritical character. Da’wah and education carry the regeneration mission for the birth of new elites who are partners in the benefit. As for the opponents of da’wah and the elite who are hypocritical in character, they must be anticipated so as not to cause chaos, crisis, and crime.

Abstract

Calling al-Tirmidhī as mutasāhil is controversial both amongst classical and contemporary Muslim scholars. Some other scholars call him mutashaddid. Such an accusation to him is due to some factors. First, the difference of his Makhtūtat and his al-Jāmi‘ about particular status of ḥadīth. Second, scholars misunderstand about technical terms used by al-Tirmidhī in his work of al-Jāmi‘. Third, al-Tirmidhī elevates the status of ḥadīth ḍa‘īf into ḥasan because of support from other riwāyah of it. Moreover, he also justifīes ḥadīth ḥasan, if supported by other riwāyah, as ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ although this ḥadīth does not reach the status of valid. Forth, the title as tasāhul or tashaddud falls in the field of ijtihād, which may vary from one scholar to another. This means that the title of tasāhul or tashaddud ascribed to al-Tirmidhī may be accepted by some scholars while rejected by others.

Abstract

This study is motivated by two things, namely Indonesia is the country with the largest Muslim population in the world, and the population of Indonesia has a high cultural diversity. This qualitative research applies a content analysis and semantic approach to analyze the texts and documents. Conceptually, proper education can shape character through the inculcation of religious values and local wisdom. At the same time, wise expressions in the Bugis advice are analyzed with a content analysis approach. The results of the analysis show two main points. First, character building starts from the human side. The Qur'an shows that character building must start from the inner dimension of the human being. It is indicated by the word 'anfus' in the Quran. Second, the central values of Bugis' local wisdom align with the universal values of the Quran, namely coaching that touches the inner dimension in the form of ideas, beliefs, and awareness of the importance of these noble values in attitudes and behavior. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh dua hal yaitu Indonesia sebagai negara dengan penduduk muslim terbesar di dunia, dan penduduk Indonesia yang memiliki keragaman budaya yang tinggi. Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan pendekatan analisis isi dan semantik untuk menganalisis teks dan dokumen. Secara konseptual, pendidikan yang tepat dapat membentuk karakter melalui penanaman nilai-nilai agama dan kearifan lokal. Sementara itu, ungkapan bijak dalam petuah Bugis dianalisis dengan pendekatan analisis isi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan dua poin utama. Pertama, pembentukan karakter dimulai dari sisi kemanusiaan. Al-Qur'an menunjukkan bahwa pembentukan karakter harus dimulai dari dimensi batin manusia. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan kata 'anfus' dalam Al-Qur'an. Kedua, nilai-nilai sentral kearifan lokal Bugis selaras dengan nilai-nilai universal al-Qur'an, yaitu pembinaan yang menyentuh dimensi batin berupa gagasan, keyakinan, dan kesadaran akan pentingnya nilai-nilai luhur tersebut dalam sikap dan perilaku.

Abstract

This article investigates the relevance between Bugis culture values and Muslim Scholars’ views on gender issues in Bugis Quranic Interpretation by MUI of South Sulawesi. This research uses content analysis. Woman’s right to be public leader is not questioned as long it fulfills qualitative and functional criteria. In household affairs, a married couple is a partner with equal responsibilities. The concept of ‘iddah emphasizes on religious principle and the culture of self- esteem and purity. The inheritance distribution does not only relate to the right, but also responsibility in order to uphold justice. The expertise of Bugis Muslim scholars to link between Bugis values and its interpretation is not always explicit, some were identifiable implicitly and inherently. The Quranic and local values are two values integrated in giving solution to people. The Bugis people are inspiring to uphold value system and harmonious interaction system in organizing people.  Social establishment through the manifestation of core values of culture and the Quranic principle becomes an effective strategy to maintain the identity of community with Islamic doctrine values. Artikel ini membahas relevansi antara nilai-nilai budaya Bugis dan pemikiran ulama Bugis mengenai isu-isu jender dalam Tafsir Berbahasa Bugis Karya MUI Sulawesi selatan. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan analisis isi. Hak kepemimpinan perempuan dalam ranah publik tidak dipersoalkan sepanjang memenuhi syarat kualitatif dan fungsional. Dalam rumah tangga, suami dan istri merupakan mitra dengan prinsip sepenanggungan. Konsep ‘iddah lebih menekankan prinsip agama dan budaya harga diri,dan makna kesucian. Pembagian harta warisan tidak hanya menyangkut hak melainkan juga tanggung jawab demi tegaknya keadilan. Kepiawaian ulama Bugis dalam merelevansikan nilai-nilai budaya Bugis dengan penafsirannya tidak selalu disebutkan secara ekplisit, sebagian diantaranya diketahui dari substansi penjelasannya secara implisit dan inheren. Kearifan Qurani dan kearifan lokal adalah integrasi dua nilai kearifan yang dapat memberikan solusi bagi masyarakat. Masyarakat Bugis dapat memberikan inspirasi bagi tegaknya tata nilai dan pola interaksi yang harmonis dalam menata masyarakat. Pembinaan masyarakat melalui pengejawantahan nilai-nilai utama kebudayaan dan prinsip Qurani adalah strategi yang efektif dalam rangka mempertahankan jati diri suku bangsa dengan nilai-nilai ajaran Islam.

Abstract

The article explores the values of the local wisdom (‘urf) of the West Sulawesi Polewali community and an appreciation of Islamic law towards it. This research used a qualitative approach. Data collection was done through triangulation techniques that were intended to obtain more complete data. Data were analyzed with content analysis techniques and semiotics analysis approach. Content analysis can provide closer philosophical meaning of the phrase. While the semiotics approach can help to understand the meaning of the symbolic expressions of Pamali. The phrases in Pamali contain very deep and philosophical meanings. This research showed that Pamali has a depth of meaning so that a symbolic and contextual analysis approaches can give exact meaning of Pamali expression. Thus, the local wisdom in muamalat can be considered in formulating Islamic law that applies to the Mandar community in general and the Polewali community in particular. Local wisdom in the Polewali community can be used as a consideration in the formulation of Islamic law and development policies in Polewali. Artikel ini mengupas tentang nilai-nilai kearifan local (‘urf) masyarakat Polewali Sulawesi Barat dan apresiasi hukum Islam terhadapnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui teknik triangulasi yang bertujuan untuk memperoleh data yang lebih lengkap. Data dianalisis dengan teknik analisis isi dan pendekatan analisis semiotika. Hal itu karena pesan di dalam Pamali menggunakan bahasa simbolik untuk tujuan tertentu. Analisis isi dapat lebih mendekatkan pada makna filosofis dari ungkapan. Sedangkan pendekatan semiotika dapat membantu untuk memahami makna ungkapan simbolik Pamali. Ungkapan pada Pamali mengandung makna yang sangat dalam dan filosofis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pamali memiliki makna yang dalam sehingga hanya dengan pendekatan analisis simbolik dan kontekstual dapat menempatkan makna ungkapan Pamali secara tepat. Dengan demikian, kearifan lokal dalam muamalat itu dapat menjadi pertimbangan dalam merumuskan hukum Islam yang berlaku bagi masyarakat Mandar umumnya dan masyarakat Polewali pada khususnya. Kearifan lokal pada masyarakat Polewali memungkinkan untuk  dijadikan pertimbangan dalam perumusan hukum Islam dan kebijakan pembangunan di Polewali.

Abstract

Theoretically, the type of leadership has a relationship with achieving goals. This article analyzes the leadership typology applied by the Headmaster of MTs.N 1 Makassar to improve the quality of education. Before analyzing it, the data were collected through triangulation of techniques and data sources. The same data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation guided by the relevant research instruments. In terms of data sources, triangulation is applied by integrating data sources from informants, documents, and empirical facts observed to obtain the same data. It aims to ensure that the data presented can be trusted for its validity and accuracy. The data collected was reduced, systematized, and analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. After going through the series, the leadership type of the madrasah principle is summarized in three keywords, namely democratic, humanist, and collective types. The leadership typology is based on modern theories and the values ​​of local wisdom sitinaja, sipakatau, and sipakalebbi'. Integration between modern management theory and local wisdom can touch the sense of humanity and togetherness of madrasa stakeholders. It can support establishing a positive influence environment for all madrasa stakeholders to realize quality madrasa education services jointly. Based on that, a headmaster of madrasa must have integral intellectual, managerial, and spiritual competence and understand the values ​​of local wisdom that stakeholders uphold. The indicators for the achievement of quality improvement are assessed from several achievements and the satisfaction of various parties.

Abstract

Penelitian berjudul Sumber dan Pintu rezeki menurut Al-Quran, fenomena yang terjadi seperti adanya perubahan perilaku konsumen dengan peningkatan minat konsumen dan keberlanjutan dimana setiap individu semakin peduli dengan cara mereka menghabiskan uang dan sumber daya mereka. Dalam konteks ini penelitian tentang Sumber dan Pintu rezeki dalam Al-Quran mungkin menggambarkan bagaimana prinsip-prinsip Al-Quran seperti sedekah dan pengendalian diri dapat membentuk keputusan ekonomi dan konsumen yang lebih bijaksana.
