Abstract

The analysis of efficacy of clove oil (Syzigium aromaticum), ginger oil (Zingiber officinale), and nutmeg oil (Myristica fragrans) to hairy caterpillar was conducted. The hairy caterpillar were reported to attack some plants in 2010 to 2011 in Indonesia .To control the caterpillar, recently, peoples used chemical insecticide, however the impact of chemicals insecticide is dangerous to human being, livestock, and environmental. Therefore to minimizing those problems, the control methods should be environmental-friendly and safe against human being. One of those methods is utilizing the botanical pesticide which is extracted from tropical plants. Therefore efficacy of essential oils was done in order to find out the method to control population of it with environmental friendly approach. The experiment result shown at the concentration 10%, all of the essential oils are effective to kill the caterpillar (90-100%). Therefore the examinations of low concentrations of essential oils were conducted (5, 2, and 1%). The result of 1% concentration of ginger oil, nutmeg oil and clove oil are 80 %, 76 % and 68 % respectively.

Abstract

Differences in Height, Number of Leaves, and Stem Diameter of Corn (Zea mays L.) in Alley Cropping and Intercropping of Agroforestry Systems at the Micro Watershed of Tukad Sumaga Village, Gerokgak District, Buleleng Regency. Degraded land as a result of land conversion has a very bad impact on the agro-ecosystem. Land conversion caused by the increasing needs of the population. The majority of the livelihoods of the people in Tukad Sumaga village are farmers. The availability of forage is very important to be maintained. Corn plants, in addition to their production in the form of corn, forage fodder on corn plants are very important for the availability of cattle feed. This research was conducted on 28 DAP maize (Zea mays L.) in alley cropping system and intercropping in the micro watershed of Tukad Sumaga Village. The results showed that the highest average plant height, leaf number, and corn stalk diameter were found in the alley cropping system namely 1.03 m, 7.31, and 1.59 cm. There was no significant difference between the height of corn plants in alley cropping and intercropping systems. There is a significant difference between the number of leaves and the diameter of the stems of maize in alley cropping and intercropping systems.

Abstract

Kehadiran Penyuluh Pertanian Lapangan (PPL) dan peranan penyuluh pertanian di tengah-tengah masyarakat tani di desa masih sangat dibutuhkan untuk meningkatkan sumber daya manusia (petani) sehingga mampu mengelola sumber daya alam yang ada secara intensif demi tercapainya peningkatan produktifitas dan pendapatan atau tercapainya ketahanan pangan dan ketahanan ekonomi. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran penyuluh dalam pengembangan kelompok tani. Penelitian dilakukan pada Kelompok Tani Ternak Karya Padang Kertha di Desa Apuan,Kecamatan Baturiti, Kabupaten Tabanan, secara purposive sampling yaitu pengambilan secara sengaja. Pada penelitian ini jumlah populasi 78 orang dan jumlah Sampel yang diambil adalah 39 orang.Peran penyuluh yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penyuluh sebagai pembimbing, motivator, komunikator,edukator, fasilitator dan dinamisator. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa peran penyuluh sebagai pembimbing, motivator, komunikator,edukator, fasilitator dan dinamisator sudah termasuk dalam kriteria baik.Itu artinya penyuluh sudah melaksanakan seluruh tindakan yang dapat memotivasi petani untuk berpartisipasi dalam kelompok tani, optimal melakukan penyuluhan dan berupaya meningkatkan pengetahuan petani melalui kegiatan pelatihan, dan juga mampu merubah sikap anggota kelompoktani kearah yang lebih baik sehingga keterampilan yang dimiliki petani meningkat

Abstract

Kopi robusta (Coffea canephora piere ex A. Fronher) merupakan salah satu tanaman andalan dari komuditas perkebunan Indonesia karena memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi. Varietas kopi robusta banyak di budidayakan di Desa Pucaksari, Kecamatan Busungbiu. Penelitian ini akan mencari strategi pengembangan usahatani Kopi Robusta di Desa Pucaksari, Kecamatan Busungbiu, dan Kabupaten Buleleng.Penelitian dilakukan di Desa Pucaksari, Kecamatan Busungbiu, Kabupaten Buleleng.Penentuan daerah dilakukan secara Purposive atau disengaja. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah petani kopi yang berjumlah sebanyak 110 petani.Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 55 orang, yang dipilih secara simple random sampling. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi data primer dan data sekunder. Untuk merumuskan strategi pengembangan usaha tani kopi di Desa Pucaksari dilakukan analisis data dengan menggunakan analisis SWOT. Hasil analisis dan pembahasan penelitian yang telah diuraikan didapatkan bahwan kekuatan (strength) dan kelemahan (weakness) yaitu ketersediaan lahan yang cukup, keamanan berusahatani, kurangnya manajemen yang baik, petani kekurangan modal, petani tidak menguasai saluran pemasaran, petani masih menggunakan alat sederhana, petani tidak mengetahui tempat penyediaan dan penggunaan bibit bersertifikat dan petani tidak mengetahui hasil penelitian. Peluang (opportunity) dan ancaman (threat) yaitu permintaan kopi yang semakin meningkat, mulai adanya pasar yang tersedia untuk usahatani kopi robusta, pengaruh dari petani lain, mulai adanya atau tumbuhnya kelompok tani kopi robusta dan adanya ketidakpastian iklim, persaingan kopi dari daerah lain dan pertumbuhan ekonomi yang tidak pasti. Strategi alternatif yang dapat dilakukan yaitu meningkatkan mutu produksi serta mitra memberikan harga kepada petani sesuai dengan peraturan yang berlaku, memperluas jaringan pemasaran dengan cara memanfaatkan organisasi-organisasi petani serta penggunaan teknologi dan informasi yang modern dan membentuk lembaga penelitian serta lembaga keuangan guna membantu usahatani kopi.

Abstract

Shirataki rice is rice made from porang tubers. Porang bulbs are plants that produce carbohydrates, fats, proteins, minerals, which can be processed into shirataki rice. Shirataki rice has many benefits for the body such as preventing an increase in blood sugar levels and improving the health of the digestive tract. In order to find out how the process of marketing shirataki rice is, it is necessary to do research on the mix of shirataki rice and the marketing constraints of Shirataki rice. The research location was determined purposively or purposively with the consideration that the Beras Sehat Bali store is in a very strategic location close to tourism and has been running for more than 10 years. The population in this study amounted to 11 people consisting of leaders and employees. By paying attention to the small number of population, this study used a census technique , namely taking the entire population as a research unit. The data analysis method used is descriptive analysis. The results of this study are that the product marketed by the Satvika Bhoga Shop is Shirataki Rice with the KONNYAKU brand, with packaging measuring 250 gr and 1 kg. The marketing price for Shirataki rice products, which are 250 grams in size, is Rp 95,000 and 1 kg in size is Rp 225,000. The location of the Satvika Bhoga Store is very strategic, close to tourism sites, and is also located on the side of the main road, so that it is easy for consumers to reach. Product promotion is carried out in 2 ways, namely direct promotion and through social media (Instagram, Facebook, WhatsAAP, WebSite). The constraints faced are sometimes a shortage of stock, due to the shirataki rice production process in Surabaya.
