Abstract

Character figures are vital elements in a narrative story, especially with the presence of the characters in the story. Without the presence of characters with strong characterizations, a story in a comic will not be interesting to be read. This research will focus on how to design a comic character using the morphological forced connection transformation method. The final result of the research is a form of comic characters with a combined form of humans and animals where the process of making these characters can be a foothold for illustrators who want to make a character of a kind. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method, with data collection methods carried out through a variety of literature studies, as well as tracing documentation data. The Matrix Manga Theory from Hiroyoshi Tsukamoto was used to give personality figures, the fundamental theory of Human Drawing from Andrew Loomis as a foothold to make anatomy. The final results of the study will be (1) New characters combined figures of humans and animals (2) drawing method to create characters using the morphological forced connection method.

Abstract

Penelitian visualisasi karakter Prabu Siliwangi, bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan sosok karakter Prabu Siliwangi periode Prabu Jayadewata sebagai upaya pelestarian, pengkayaan budaya, tuntunan kehidupan dan pengenalan tokoh Prabu siliwangi kepada masyarakat Jawa Barat. Studi visual menggunakan metode penelitian analisis deskriptif dengan pendekatan teori karakteristik dari Brian Tillman. Hal ini untuk menghasilkan desain karakter yang sesuai dengan ruh budaya Sunda. Ide yang diangkat tentu saja bersumber dari mitos folklore budaya Sunda, dengan hasil akhir perwujudan visual Prabu Siliwangi versi karakter animasi. Tahapan penelitian dimulai dengan penjaringan data, dilanjutkan dengan proses studi visual sebagai tahap desain, menuju tahap konsep dengan menggunakan beberapa referensi teknis pengkaryaan. Sehingga menghasilkan karya desain karakter Prabu Siliwangi era moderen dengan ruang waktu yang berbeda. Kata kunci: Cerita rakyat Sunda, Teori Brian Tillman, Perancangan karakter Prabu Siliwangi.

Abstract

PT X. which is engaged in fabrication, has a CWP motor mount fabrication project with static and dynamic loads of 28,117 Kg. The design is carried out with a structural strength analysis intended to calculate the maximum moment, von mises stress, and deflection. This can affect the productivity of the company. This study aims to determine the value of von mises stress that occurs below the allowable stress. With manual calculation, the maximum von mises stress value on the CWP structure is 32.094 Mpa with a maximum deflection value of 0.323 mm. The maximum von mises stress value of manual calculation is below the permit stress and meets the permit stress requirement with a value of 100 Mpa. So the designed holder is categorized as very good.
