Abstract

This article aims to discuss the Romanticism that developed rapidly in Arabic literature. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The research technique used is the listening and note-taking technique. The problems raised in this research are: 1) What is the History of Romanticism in Arabic Literature; 2) How was the influence of Romanticism in Arabic Literature; 3) Who are the figures of the Arab Romanticism and their works. The results obtained are 1) The history of Romanticism in Arabic literature was influenced by the west when Napoleon set foot on Arab lands and also as a critique of the Classical School. 2) The influence of Romanticism in Arabic Literature, namely the emergence of several literary groups associations and also the renewal of magazines and newspapers in the Arab world. 3) One of the figures of Arab Romanticism, namely Khalil Mutran, Khalil Gibran and Ahmad Zaki Abu Syadi

Abstract

نجيب محفوظ هو روائي مصرى كبير واشتهر بأبي الروايات العربية الحديثة. وقد حاز على جائزة نوبيل عام 1988 من قبل المجتمع الغربي بإنجازاته الجمالية وتعاطفه الإنسانية بين روائعه الأدبية. كان الدافع لظهور جميع روائعه هو اهتمامه بمشاكل المجتمع وسعيه لمحاولة بناء المجتمع الجديد. ومع ذلك، اقترض بعض المجتمع أن روائعه مثيرة للجدل وقد حصل عليه النقد السلبي والتجديف نحو الجوانب الدينية. بذلك وصل الباحثون على الإثبات أن الروائع الأدبية لنجيب محفوظ تثير أنواع الردود والتعليقات من مختلف المجتمع. تهدف هذه الدراسة للكشف عن استجابة القارئين الباحثين في جوكجاكرتا خاصة لروائع نجيب محفوظ الأدبية. استخدم الباحثون النظرية الاستقبالية الأدبية التي تقيم القارئين كأهم العامل من العوامل المؤثرة لكشف صورة الأديب الروائي المذكور من بين أنواع روائعه. وكان المنهج المستخدم في هذا البحث هو المنهج الكيفي لاستنباط استقبال وتلقي القارئين الباحثين نحو الروائي وروائعه الأدبية. والنتيجة المؤقتة عن استقبال القارئين الباحثين في منطقة جوكجاكرتا توصلت إلى أربعة نقط، هي: أولا، أنه كرائد الحداثة، ثانيا أنه كمؤيد حركة النسوية، ثالثا أنه كحامل الايديولوجية العلمانية، ورابعا أنه كمؤلف الرواية السيكولوجية. الكلمات المفتاحية : نجيب محفوظ؛ الاستقبالية الأدبية؛ مجتمع القراء بجوكجاكرتا Abstract Najib Mahfuz is a great novelist of Egyptian descent who is known as the Father of Modern Arabic Novels. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1988 in recognition of his aesthetic achievements and humanitarian significance to Western society. The birth of his literary works was motivated by his concern for the problems of society in its transformation into a modern society. However, some of his works were considered controversial and received negative criticism, even blasphemy, in the religious aspect. Najib Mahfuz's works have elicited a wide range of reactions from various audiences. The purpose of this research is to discover the reactions of Yogyakarta-based researchers to these works. The writer applied the theory of literary reception, which is a theory that sees the reader's role as an important factor in literary interpretation. The method used is the critical method, which is the method used in analyzing research such as scientific works, theses, and dissertations to get reception or response to a literary work. The conclusion of the study is that of Najib Mahfudz as a pioneering figure of modernity, a supporter of the feminist movement, a carrier of secular ideology, and the author of psychological novels.

Abstract

Artikel ini dimaksudkan untuk menguraikan secara lebih mendalam dan terperinci tentang kritik sastra pada masa jahiliah menurut pespektif Muhammad Abdurrahman Ibrahim. Jenis penelitiannya yaitu penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan kajian pustaka. Hasil penelitiannya menunjukkan bahwa kritik sastra jahiliah muncul bersamaan dengan puisi Arab yang sering dibacakan di pasar-pasar sehingga membuat orang secara naluriah dan spontan ingin menilai baik buruknya puisi. Berdasarkan sudut pandang Mustafa Abdurrahman Ibrahim, karakteristik yang dimiliki kritik sastra jahili yaitu bersifat subjektif-impresif dan dihasilkan dari pemikiran dan kesabaran. Kritik yang subjektif meliputi aspek linguistik, makna, ‘aruḍ, dan cara penyampaian. Sedangkan kritik yang berasal dari pemikiran dan kesabaran meliputi tathqĪf dan tanqĪm, al-riwāyah wa al-talammudhah, dan al-ikhtiyār. Lima keistimewaan kritik sastra ini adalah dhawq fiṭry, spontanitas, parsial, general, dan ringkas. Prinsip yang digunakan tidak didasarkan pada aturan teknis, melainkan hanya menurut penilaian pribadi kritikus.

Abstract

This study aims to compare with the analysis of the thoughts of Ibn Qutaiba and Ibn Sallam Al-Jumahi in Literary Criticism. The research methodology involves a qualitative analysis of the writings of Ibn Qutaibah and Ibn Sallam Al-Jumahi. The historical and cultural context in which these two scholars were writing is also considered in order to better understand their views on poetry criticism and how they reflect broader trends in Arabic literature. The data obtained are from books by the two critics, Al-Shi'r wa Al-Shu'ara and Tabaqat Fuhul As-Shu'ara. By comparing the two thoughts, the results of this study reveal that both Ibn Qutaibah and Ibn Sallam Al-Jumahi had similar criteria for evaluating poetry but differed in their emphasis on certain aspects of poetic form and content. Ibn Qutaibah concludes his assessment of the identity of poetry because his criticisms by looking at the suitability of its 'Arudh and Qafiyah. Meanwhile, Al-Jumahi criticizes the legitimacy of poems by revealing the identity of the poem its poet to see the originality or from which tribe (region) the poem originates.
