Abstract

Corruption is a major problem that hinders Indonesia's progress, undermines government systems, and deteriorates public services. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) plays an important role in preventing and combating corruption. However, the KPK's success is still hindered by a number of problems, including political resistance, lack of resources, and regulatory weaknesses. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efforts made by the KPK to maximize their role in preventing and combating corruption by focusing on the elements of education, prosecution, coordination, and regulatory strengthening. A descriptive analysis of KPK's policies, programs, and implementation was used in this study. The results show that KPK's education programs are effective in raising public awareness, but changes are needed to reach more people. Challenges such as legal barriers and political pressure continue to exist in the field of prosecution, although major cases have been resolved successfully. Inter-agency coordination has been assessed, but strengthening is needed to become more synergistic. Conversely, anti-corruption laws should be amended to correct legal weaknesses that are often used by corrupt actors. To ensure sustainable corruption eradication in Indonesia, this study suggests enhancing KPK's institutional capacity, innovation in education programs, inter-agency policy harmonization, and regulatory revisions.

Abstract

This study discussed the relevance of individual candidates in Indonesian democracy, which had regulated the requirements for candidates to advance in Pilkada through individuals. In the Pilkada of Bekasi, candidate of Obon Tabroni and Bambang Sumaryono accepted support from various elements of society, this was the background for the candidate Obon Tabroni and Bambang Sumaryono to advance as candidates in the Pilkada of Bekasi as individuals. NGOs and labor unions were a strong asset in Bekasi, considering that part of the area was an industrial area. Other than that, Obon Tabroni was also the Director of Serikat Pekerja Metal Indonesia (FSPMI) Bekasi. although they had sufficiently strong support, in fact this candidate lost in the regional elections. This was also the concern in this research. This research used the theory of democracy and local elections. This regulation was ratified by the Constitutional Court (MK) 2007, as well as in Constitution, Article 40 no. 10 in 2016 which regulated the requirements for candidates to advance through the independent. In Indonesia, the individual was less popular, considering that the regional head or presidential candidates mostly used political parties as a vehicle to win. The problems that was faced by individual candidates also still struggled around clichéd issues, namely financial and logistical limitations, the lack of second-class voter participation, as well as other problems that were also frequently encountered by candidate who run through the party. With the increasing number of candidates nominating individually and seeing the conditions put forward by the KPU, it seemed that the existence of these individual candidates needed to be appreciated. This could also be a benchmark, that there had been growing political awareness in our society. Even though the chances of winning the Pilkada through individual were still small.

Abstract

Sindupaten Village is an administrative area located in Kertek District, Wonosobo Regency, which faces challenges in its navigation system due to the lack of directional signboards. This condition causes difficulties for visitors, public service officers, and delivery couriers in locating specific addresses. The absence of adequate wayfinding infrastructure also reduces mobility efficiency and weakens the village’s spatial identity. The Plangisasi Dusun (Village Signboard Installation) program aims to strengthen spatial identity, improve accessibility, and enhance the organization of public spaces in Sindupaten Village. This community service project employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach involving local residents in the planning, design, and installation processes. Strategic signboard placement points were determined using movement network theory to identify the main routes of community and visitor movement. The results show a significant improvement in address search efficiency, with the average search time reduced by approximately 40%. In addition, residents reported a stronger sense of belonging toward their village environment. The initiative also increased community awareness of the importance of informative and collaborative spatial design in supporting local public services. Therefore, the Plangisasi Dusun program has proven effective in enhancing social connectivity, strengthening local identity, and promoting sustainable village development through participatory engagement.
