Comprehensive Midwifery Care is a midwifery service that is provided comprehensively, continuously and consistently to a mother, starting from pregnancy to Family Planning services. The purpose of this study is to provide comprehensive midwifery care (Continuity of Care) using the SOAP method as an effort to reduce maternal mortality and infant mortality rates. The subject of this study was Mrs. L, 36 years old. The assessment was conducted from March 4 to April 13, 2025. During the pregnancy phase, it was found that Mrs. L was at high risk due to advanced maternal age (over 35 years) and obesity. Mother gives birth normally, baby is born healthy. During neonatal care, the baby was found to have complaint of poor breastfeeding. In the postpartum care, the mother have a complication of breast engorgement. Family planning care with no complications observed, mother usescontraceptive implant. A gap between theory and practice was found regarding the implementation of Early Initiation of Breastfeeding. Based on the assesment, it’s recommended to improve midwifery sevices continue, particulary in early detection and prevention of complications.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that is still a public health challenge in Indonesia. One of the factors contributing to the high prevalence of stunting is the lack of knowledge of parents, especially mothers, about balanced nutritional intake and proper practices of feeding Complementary Breast Milk (MP-ASI). This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of mothers under five related to the importance of nutritious food and the practice of giving MP-ASI in accordance with the guidelines of WHO and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. The methods used are education through interactive counseling, demonstrations of making local food-based MP-ASI, and question and answer sessions. The target of the activity was 40 mothers with children aged 6-24 months in the Posyandu in the assisted area. The evaluation results showed an increase in participants' knowledge by 65% after participating in educational activities. In addition, 80% of participants stated that they were motivated to implement MP-ASI feeding practices that are in accordance with the principles of balanced nutrition. This activity also encourages the use of affordable and nutritious local food resources. With the increase in mothers' knowledge and skills in compiling and delivering MP-ASI, it is hoped that the risk of stunting in early childhood can be minimized. This service activity proves that education-based interventions and direct practices can effectively support programs to accelerate stunting reduction at the community level. The recommendation for the future is to expand the scope of similar activities with cross-sectoral collaboration, especially among health workers and posyandu cadres

Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension is a major global public health problem affecting more than 1.2 billion people worldwide and contributing substantially to cardiovascular morbidity and premature mortality. Recent evidence indicates a rising trend of elevated blood pressure among young adults, particularly in low- and middle-income countries experiencing rapid lifestyle and dietary transitions. University students are increasingly exposed to chronic academic stress and easy access to high-sodium fast food, potentially accelerating early cardiovascular risk. However, limited qualitative evidence integrates psychosocial and dietary determinants of early hypertension within student populations. Research Methodology: This qualitative study employed a phenomenological approach to explore students lived experiences related to mental stress, fast food consumption, and perceived early hypertension risk. The study was conducted at a public university in Indonesia between March and June 2025. Twenty undergraduate students aged 18–25 years were recruited using purposive maximum variation sampling. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis following Braun and Clarke’s framework. Data saturation was achieved at the 18th interview and confirmed in subsequent interviews. Results: Four major themes emerged: (1) academic and psychosocial stress as persistent pressure; (2) fast food as a stress-driven coping mechanism; (3) limited awareness of early hypertension risk; and (4) the interconnection between stress, diet, and physical symptoms. Participants described chronic stress leading to frequent fast-food consumption, which was perceived to contribute to headaches, palpitations, and fatigue. A knowledge behavior gap was evident, as awareness did not translate into preventive action. Conclusion: Early hypertension risk among students is shaped by the interaction between psychosocial stress and maladaptive dietary coping behaviors. Integrated campus-based strategies incorporating stress management, healthier food environments, and routine blood pressure screening are essential to prevent long-term cardiovascular disease

Abstract

Introduction: Exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) during the first six months of life plays a crucial role in infant survival, growth, and development. However, the global rates of EBF remain below the recommended targets. Pregnant women's classes are designed to provide education, support, and skills necessary for successful breastfeeding practices. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of pregnant women's classes on the success rate of exclusive breastfeeding. Methods: A quasi-experimental design with a posttest-only control group was employed. The study involved 120 pregnant women in their third trimester, selected through purposive sampling from two community health centers. The intervention group (n=60) participated in a structured pregnant women's class, while the control group (n=60) received standard antenatal care without additional courses. Data on breastfeeding practices were collected three months postpartum using structured interviews and analyzed using the Chi-square test and logistic regression. Results: The study found a significantly higher rate of exclusive breastfeeding in the intervention group (78.3%) compared to the control group (53.3%) (p<0.01). Attendance in the pregnant women's class was associated with a 2.9 times higher likelihood of practicing exclusive breastfeeding (OR=2.9; 95% CI: 1.5–5.6). Key factors contributing to success included increased maternal knowledge, self-efficacy, and support from health educators during antenatal. Conclusions: Participation in pregnant women's classes effectively increases the success rate of exclusive breastfeeding. Integrating structured breastfeeding education into routine antenatal care is recommended to improve maternal practices and promote better infant health outcomes
