Abstract

Piroxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that can cause side effects on the liver. If the liver is affected by side effects from using Piroxicam, it can cause cell damage so that the hepatic organs' function and work are disturbed. The biomarker of liver damage is the SGPT level. An increase in the SGPT ratio indicates serious liver damage. One way to minimize liver damage is by giving antioxidants. One of the many herbal plants used to prevent or treat various diseases is black cumin (Nigella sativa). This study aimed to analyze the effect of black cumin extract on the liver SGPT levels of Piroxicam-induced rats. Eighty male mice were used in this study and were divided into three groups, namely the negative control group (K-), Piroxicam non-extract (P-), and Piroxicam plus extract (P +). Black cumin extract is given orally at a dose of 2 gr / kgBW; 3 gr / kgBB; 4 gr / kgBB; 5 gr / kg body weight and 6 g / kg body weight, while the Piroxicam dosage given is 1 g / kg and 3 g / kg body weight. The results showed that the more Piroxicam doses were given, the higher the SGPT level. Along with the increase in the dose of black cumin extract, the SGPT level is reduced.

Abstract

Prospective teachers of 21st century need to prepare themselves in carrying out their profession as professional teacher candidates, namely by having good teaching skills. In addition, skills that support teaching skills also need to be possessed by prospective teacher students, such as life skills. The purpose of this research was to explain the relationship of life skills and teaching skills of prospective teacher students. The subjects in this study were fourth semester students of Biology Education Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Islam Madura. This research was a quantitative study using a correlational research design to explain the relationship between predictors (life skills) and criteria (teaching skills). Life skills data were obtained from life skills assessment sheet score. Life skills assessment sheet consist of four skills, namely: interpersonal skill, shared goal setting and accomplishment, responsibility, and managing. The four skills have their indicators and score levels. Teaching skills data were obtained from teaching skills assessment sheet score which had four aspects of assessment, namely: opening learning, main activities, closing learning, and supporting factors. The result showed statistically significant correlation between life skills and teaching skills of prospective teachers.

Abstract

Salah satu keterampilan dalam framework 4C adalah communication (keterampilan komunikasi). Riset menunjukkan bahwa salah satu keahlian umum yang secara konsisten disorot oleh pengusaha, akademisi, pemberi kerja, dan profesional dari peserta didik atau seorang lulusan adalah keterampilan komunikasi, terutama komunikasi lisan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pengaruh inkuiri terbimbing terhadap keterampilan komunikasi lisan beserta effect sizenya. Penelitian kuantitatif ini menggunakan rancangan quasi experiment. Penelitian ini dilakukan di MA Miftahul Ulum Bettet Pamekasan Madura pada semester Genap tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Siswa kelas X-G dengan jumlah 32 (kelas eksperimen) dan siswa X-H dengan jumlah 33 siswa (kelas kontrol) menjadi subyek dalam penelitian ini. Data keterampilan komunikasi lisan didapatkan dari hasil skor keterampilan komunikasi lisan, dimana penskoran dilakukan pada setiap pertemuan pembelajaran menggunakan lembar observasi. Uji hipotesis dilakukan dengan uji-T tidak berpasangan dengan bantuan SPSS 22. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkap keterampilan komunikasi lisan siswa kelas eksperimen secara signifikan lebih tinggi dari siswa kelas kontrol. Hal ini memberikan kesimpulan bahwa inkuiri terbimbing berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap keterampilan komunikasi lisan siswa dengan effect size kategori tinggi. Hasil ini menguatkan bahwa inkuiri terbimbing dapat menjadi model pembelajaran yang direkomendasikan dalam rangka pemberdayaan keterampilan-keterampilan yang penting dalam abad 21.
