Abstract

Ducks is one of poultry producer eggs that potential in Indonesia. Research about ducks eggs quality which includes egg yolk index (IKT), haugh unit (HU) and eggs weight local ducks in central java very important to know the genetic ability to ducks from each region and as an attempt to provide and improve the quality of  foodstuffs. The purpose of the research was analyze eggs quality from local breeds in Central Java that is Tegal ducks, Magelang ducks and Pengging ducks, viewed from the value IKT, HU and weight eggs. Ducks used in this research are raised in the hall breeding and raising ducks satker non ruminant Banyubiru, Ambarawa. The research was done by measuring egg quality from each ducks that was six month. Data  were  analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) with the differentiating factor is the type of ducks. If the data were analyzed significantly different, then do a further test using the Least Significant Differences Test (LSDt) at 95% confidence level. The results showed that ducks eggs Magelang has the heaviest weight  copared with Tegal ducks and Pengging ducks. Eggs quality data include IKT and HU showed no  significantly different from each ducks. Abstract

Local duck native germplasm Indonesia which has the genetic quality and potential to be developed as a prolific egg producer. Each type has a different chemical composition duck on her eggs. This study aims to transform and analyze proximate Pengging duck eggs, Tegal duck, and Magelang ducks that includes protein, fat, water, ash and carbohydrates. Egg samples were taken from three different types of ducks, namely: Magelang ducks, Tegal duck and Pengging duck six months old to be tested proksimatnya levels. This study consisted of 3 treatments and 6 repetitions on each type of duck eggs. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), followed by a further test using the Least Significant Differences (LSD) at 95% confidence level. The results showed that levels of the protein and no significant water on three types of duck eggs, while the levels of fat, ash and carbohydrates showed significantly different results. It can be concluded that the difference in levels proximate duck eggs from Magelang ducks, Tegal ducks and Pengging ducks revealed that there is a difference of potential metabolites of the three types of ducks.Keywords: Duck Egg, Proximate, Least Significant Differences

Abstract

ABSTRACTMagelang duck is the Indonesian wild duck that have high egg and meat production. To increase egg production hence in this research magelang ducks are supplemented with curcumin and exposure of white and red light.  The aim of the research to study growth beak duckling from parental magelang ducks that supplemented curcumin and red light exposure. The research design used  complete randomized design from fourdifferents group of ducks, i.e., A0B0 (duck without curcumin and white light exposure), A0B1 (duck without curcumin and red light exposure), A0B1 (curcumin dose of 18 mg/duck/day and white light exposure and A1B1 (curcumin dose 18 mg/duck/day and red light exposure). Five female ducklings were taken from each group and their morphometry were measured. The variables of this research were the length, width and height of beaks. The collected data were analized with Kruskal-Wallis non parametric test and would be further tested with Mann-Whitney-U test. The result of this research showed that curcumin supplementaion and red light exposure in ducks affected the magelang ducklings beak growth. Keywords : beaks, curcumin, growth, magelang ducks, red light. ABSTRAKItik magelang merupakan itik liar asli Indonesia yang memiliki produksi telur dan daging relatif tinggi. Untuk meningkatkan produksi telur maka pada penelitian ini itik magelang diberi suplementasi kurkumin serta pajanan cahaya putih dan merah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh pemberian kurkumin serta cahaya putih dan merah pada induk terhadap pertumbuhan paruh anak itik magelang. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang berasal dari empat induk yang berbeda, yaitu induk A0B0 (tanpa diberi kurkumin dan dipapar cahaya putih),  A0B1 (tanpa diberi kurkumin dan  dipapar cahaya merah), A1B0 (dosis kurkumin 18 mg/ekor/hari dan paparan cahaya putih) dan A1B1 (dosis kurkumin 18 mg/ekor/hari pada cahaya merah). Masing-masing kelompok induk diambil lima ekor anak itik untuk diukur paruhnya. Variabel yang diamati berupa pengukuran panjang, lebar, dan tebal paruh. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan uji non parametrik Kruskal-Wallis dan diuji lanjut menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney-U. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi kurkumin dan pajanan cahaya putih serta merah pada induk secara umum dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan paruh anak itik. Kata kunci: paruh, kurkumin, pertumbuhan, itik magelang, cahaya merah.

Abstract

Decreased water quality in red tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) aquaculture indicates that low dissolved oxygen availability will affect fish behavior. One of the efforts to improve water quality is through the addition of aerators and filters. Aerators and filters increase the supply of dissolved oxygen and minimize feed waste in the aquaculture pond water. This study aims to analyze of different aeration and filtration or a combination of the daily behavior patterns of tilapia including eating behavior, aggressive behavior. The study was conducted for 1 month.This study used 24 red tilapia with a length of about 8-12 cm. The research design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatment groups and 6 replications. The treatments were ANF group (use of single aerator without filter), AANF group (use of dual aerator without filter), AF group (use of single aerator with filter), and group AAF (use of dual aerator with filter). The data collected includes the daily behavior of red tilapia and water quality. Analysis of the daily eating, aggressive and comfortable behavior of red tilapia was carried out by observing video recordings and recording behavior recording techniques at intervals of 1-2 minutes based on duration and frequency. The results showed that the use of different aerators and filters or their combination had a significantly different effect (P<0,05) on the daily behavior of red tilapia. The conclusion of this study was the raising used of multiple aerators and filters can improve the quality of aquaculture water so that it has a positive impact on feeding, foraging, and schooling behavior in the growth phase of tilapia. Key words: quality water, aerator, filterd, aily behavior
