Abstract

Derajat kesehatan itik menentukan daya tahannya terhadap penyakit. Status heterofil dan limfosit menunjukkan kemampuan tubuh itik untuk menetralisasi agen infeksi sehingga jumlah heterofil dan jumlah limfosit itik menunjukkan derajat kesehatan itik tersebut, sedangkan rasio H/L dapat digunakan untuk menentukan adanya stres fisiologis akibat adanya infeksi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat status heterofil dan limfosit serta rasio H/L pada itik Pengging, itik Tegal dan itik Magelang, sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai acuan dalam menentukan tingkat produktivitasnya. Design penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan tiga perlakuan yaitu tiga jenis itik dengan enam ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jumlah heterofil dan limfosit serta rasio H/L pada itik Pengging, itik Tegal dan itik Magelang tidak berbeda nyata, sehingga disimpulkan derajat kesehatan itik Pengging, itik Tegal dan itik Magelang tidak berbeda.Kata kunci: heterofil, limfosit, rasio heterofil, limfosit, itik.

Abstract

Ducks is one of poultry producer eggs that potential in Indonesia. Research about ducks eggs quality which includes egg yolk index (IKT), haugh unit (HU) and eggs weight local ducks in central java very important to know the genetic ability to ducks from each region and as an attempt to provide and improve the quality of  foodstuffs. The purpose of the research was analyze eggs quality from local breeds in Central Java that is Tegal ducks, Magelang ducks and Pengging ducks, viewed from the value IKT, HU and weight eggs. Ducks used in this research are raised in the hall breeding and raising ducks satker non ruminant Banyubiru, Ambarawa. The research was done by measuring egg quality from each ducks that was six month. Data  were  analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) with the differentiating factor is the type of ducks. If the data were analyzed significantly different, then do a further test using the Least Significant Differences Test (LSDt) at 95% confidence level. The results showed that ducks eggs Magelang has the heaviest weight  copared with Tegal ducks and Pengging ducks. Eggs quality data include IKT and HU showed no  significantly different from each ducks. The research conclusion the eggs Magelang ducks is the best eggs.   Keywords: Local Ducks Cental Java, Eggs Quality, IKT, HU, Egg Weight

Abstract

Magelang duck was one of the most productive local poultry as an egg producer. Improvements in the management of aves cultivation could be done with the addition of curcumin and light. Curcumin and light were able to affect the behavior of feeding and drinking. This study aimed to analyze the increases of feeding and drinking behavior of magelang duck (Anas javanica) which was fed with curcumin with red and white lighting. This study used 12 female ducks that were 17 weeks old. The study consisted of 4 groups: A0B0 (white light and curcumin 0 mg), A0B1 (white light and curcumin 18 mg), A1B0 (red light and curcumin 0 mg), and A1B1 (red light and curcumin 18 mg). The parameters observed in this study were the frequency of feeding and drinking of magelang ducks (Anas javanica). This research was analyzed by descriptive method. The conclusion of the study was that the giving of red light and white light and curcumin in the curcumin has not potential to improve the duck feeding activity in the stationary phase, while giving white light has potential to improve the behavior of drinking of magelang ducks.Key words: feeding and drinking behavior, Magelang duck, curcumin, red and white light.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of white light treatment, red light, curcumin with white light and curcumin with red light on the parent to the eating and drinking behavior of magelang ducks (Anas plathyrhynchos). This study uses 16 magelang ducklings consisting of 4 treatments. The observations in this study were from 4 groups namely A.1B1 which is the duckling of the original treatment given white light, A1B2 which is the duck of the parent treatment given red light, A2B1 which is the duck of the parent treatment given curcumin dose 18 mg / kg and white light, and A2B1 which is a duck from the parent treatment given curcumin dose 18 mg / kg and white light. Parameters measured in this study were data of eating behavior and data of drinking behavior of magelang ducks (Anas plathyrhynchos). This research is analyzed by descriptive analysis. The conclusions of this study are eating and drinking behavior in post-hatch children duck treated from the parent who was given a white light that is decreased the frequency of eating and drinking in the afternoon in the second week, eating and drinking behavior in post-hatch ducks after treatment of the mother given red light that is decreased the frequency of eating and drinking in the morning in the second week, eating and drinking behavior in post-tetas duck treated from the parent who was given curcumin and white light that decreased the frequency of eating in the afternoon while the frequency of drinking tends to decline throughout the day in the second week as well as eating and drinking behavior in post-tetas ducklings treated from the parent who was given curcumin and red light that increased the frequency of eating throughout the day at week II and decreased the frequency of drinking during the day on week II.Key words: feeding behavior, drinking behavior, magelang duck, curcumin, red light and white light

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a degenerative disease with high risk. This disease can be caused by an increase in free radicals in the body. Free radicals in the body can be detected by testing malondialdehyde levels. The increase in free radicals can cause damage to the pancreatic islet Langerhans so that insulin ability is reduced. The reduced ability of insulin causes hyperglycemic conditions, which are the first symptoms of DM. The use of medicinal plants is widely used by the community as an alternative treatment for this disease. The insulin leaf plant (Tithonia diversifolia) is empirically used by the public as an antihyperglycemic drug. The aim of this study was to examine the ability of insulin and glibenclamide leaf extracts to reduce the level of free radicals in hyperglycemic conditions and to describe their ability to repair Langerhans islets damaged by toxic substances so that the blood glucose levels of hyperglycemic rats could return to normal. Hyperglycemic rats were obtained by injecting alloxan monohydrate at a dose of 150 mg/ BW of rats into male Rattus norvegicus intraperitoneally. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD), with four treatments with five replications each, namely group P1 as control mice, group P2 as hyperglycemic rats given 10 mg/ BW dose of glibenclamide/day, group P3 as hyperglycemic rats. who were given insulin leaf extract at a dose of 150 mg/ BW rats /day and group P4 as hyperglycemic rats who were given insulin leaf extract at a dose of 300 mg/ BW rats /day. The results showed that the administration of insulin leaf extract at a dose of 300 mg/ BW for rats/day was able to make blood glucose levels significantly different, but the malondialdehyde levels were not significantly different than control rats. In addition, administration of insulin leaf extract at a dose of 300 mg/ BW rats/day to hyperglycemic rats was also able to improve the condition of the Langerhans pancreatic islet towards conditions like control rats. The improvement in the condition of Langerhans pancreatic islet is indicated by the cell nucleus that is colored dark blue with more regular shapes.

Abstract

Daun jati belanda (Guazuma ulmifolia Lamk.) mempunyai kandungan senyawa tanin yang mampu menurunkan kadar lemak dalam darah. Penggunaan daun jati belanda dalam pakan broiler ditujukan untuk menurunkan kadar lemak daging ayam broiler. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam percobaan ini adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 kali ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri atas P0 (tanpa menggunakan tepung daun jati belanda dalam pakan), P1 (menggunakan tepung daun jati belanda sebesar 5 g/kg pakan), P2 (menggunakan tepung daun jati belanda sebesar 10 g/kg pakan), P3 (menggunakan tepung daun jati belanda sebesar 15 g/kg pakan), dan P4 (menggunakan tepung daun jati belanda sebesar 20 g/kg pakan). Parameter yang diukur meliputi kadar lemak, kolesterol dan protein daging. Data yang didapat dianalisa menggunakan ANOVA dengan taraf kepercayaan 95%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada penurunan kolesterol daging dan lemak daging broiler yang diberi perlakuan tepung daun jati belanda secara nyata. Kandungan protein juga tidak berbeda secara nyata. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan tepung daun jati belanda pada konsentrasi 5 g/kg pakan; 10 g/kg pakan ; 15 g/kg pakan; dan 20 g/kg pakan belum mampu menurunkan secara nyata kolesterol daging dan lemak daging serta belum mampu menaikkan kandungan protein daging broiler.
