Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: Knowledge is the foundation for a development of human behavior, especially health behavior. Health behavior is activity of humankind to maintain and improve their health. One of these actions is included in the dental counseling service in the society. In Hulu Sungai Utara regency, the participation in the dental counseling service is quite low, around 5,3%, that is why some researches need to be done in this area. Purpose: This study aimed to find out the relation between the rate of knowledge in the society and the participation in the dental counseling service at Puskesmas Hulu Sungai Utara. Method: This research is an analytical observation stud, with cross sectional advance. There were 150 respondents for this study, with each Puskesmas provided 50 respondents. The rate of knowledge in the society and the participation in the dental counseling service were measured by questionnaire. Result: There were 61 respondents who had low rate of knowledge, 75 respondents who had intermediate rate of knowledge, and 14 respondents who had high rate of knowledge. There were 100 respondents who had low rate of dental counseling participation, 21 respondents who had intermediate rate of dental counseling participation, and 29 respondents who had high rate of dental counseling. Chi-Square test showed that the rate of knowledge in the society is related with the participation on dental counseling service. The test of the data showed significant score (p<0,05). Conclusion: The conclusion of this study presented that dental counseling service participation is affected by the knowledge of the society.Keywords: health behavior, knowledge, dental counseling service

Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: Oral health disease places the first rank among the most ten diseases in Indonesia. The main oral health problem of children is dental caries. Mother is the closest figure of pre-school children who becomes a role model for her children. The purpose of this research determined the correlation between knowledge, education, and social status of mothers and the dental caries status of students in TK ABA 1 Banjarmasin. Methods: This research used analytical survey method with cross sectional approach. There were 46 samples selected in this research by using purposive sampling method based on certain inclusion criteria. Instrument used in this research was questionnaire to measure mothers’ knowledge, education level, and social status. Students’ dental caries status was measured base on def-t index. Result: In this research, the researcher correlated the knowledge, education level, social status of the mothers and the students’ dental caries status index by using SPSS and Spearman test. The result revealed the correlation is negative. It shows the higher knowledge, education level, and social status of the mother, the lower were def-t index of the students. The correlational strength was < 0.8 (strong) and p value was < 0.05 which means significant correlation. Conclusion: There is a significant correlation between knowledge, education level, social status of mothers and the students’ dental caries status.Keywords: Mother knowledge, mother education level, mother economy status, kindergarten students

Abstract

ABSTRAK Pendahuluan : Imunisasi dasar lengkap merupakan salah satu bentuk intervensi kesehatan yang efektif dilakukan untuk mencegah dalam menurunkan angka kematian bayi dan balita. Pentingnya pengetahuan ibu, sehingga diharapkan ibu dapat memberikan imunisasi dasar secara lengkap pada bayinya. Tujuan Penelitian : untuk mengetahui Gambaran Pengetahuan Ibu tentang Pemberian Imunisasi Dasar Lengkap di Desa Keude Mtangglumpang Dua Kecamatan peusangan Kabupaten Bireuen. Metode Penelitian : Jenis penelitian ini adalah diskriptif yang berlokasi di Desa Keude Matangglumpang Dua pada ibu bayi sebanyak 34 orang. Data diperoleh menggunakan kuesioner dan berdasarkan tindakan observasi dan dianalisis secara univariat. Hasil penelitian : Karakteristik ibu di Desa Keude Matangglumpang Dua sebagian besar terbanyak berumur 26-30 tahun sebanyak 14 orang (41,2%), berpendidikan SMA sebanyak 21 orang (61,8%), tidak bekerja (IRT) sebanyak 25 orang (73,5%). Pengetahuan ibu di di Desa Keude Matangglumpang Dua tentang imunisasi dasar lengkap dalam kategori baik sebanyak sebanyak 18 orang (52,9%), pengetahuan dengan kategori cukup sebanyak 6 responden (17,6%) dan pengetahuan dengan kategori baik sebanayk 10 responden (29,4%). Kesimpulan : Sebagian besar pengetahuan ibu tentang imunisasi dasar lengkap di Desa Keude Matangglumpang Dua dalam kategori kurang sebanyak 18 orang (52,9%). Kata kunci : Pengetahuan, Imunisasi Dasar Lengkap ABSTRACT Introduction : Complete basic immunization is an effective form of health intervention to prevent and reduce infant and toddler mortality. The importance of maternal knowledge is that mothers are expected to be able to provide complete basic immunization to their babies. Research Objective : to determine the description of mothers' knowledge about providing complete basic immunization in Keude Mtangglumpang Dua Village, Peusangan District, Bireuen Regency. Research Method: This type of research is descriptive, located in Keude Matangglumpang Dua Village, involving 34 mothers of babies. Data was obtained using a questionnaire and based on observation and analyzed univariately. Research results : Characteristics of mothers in Keude Matangglumpang Dua Village, the majority of whom are 26-30 years old, 14 people (41.2%), 21 people (61.8%) have a high school education, 25 people (73%) do not work (IRT) 5%). Mothers' knowledge in Keude Matangglumpang Dua Village about complete basic immunization was in the good category as many as 18 people (52.9%), knowledge in the sufficient category was 6 respondents (17.6%) and knowledge in the good category was 10 respondents (29, 4%). Conclusion : Most mothers' knowledge about complete basic immunization in Keude Matangglumpang Dua Village is in the poor category, 18 people (52.9%).
