<![CDATA[ABSTRACTGood self-determination capability needed by a teenager in the face early in junior high school because of this ability is expected to help young people to cope with the challenges or barriers in the school environment and the community. This ability is itself not free from the factors that influence one of them is social support. This study aims to determine 1) The level of students' self determination YPUI SMP Islam Darul 'Ulum Banda Aceh, 2) Level Social support Islamic junior high school students YPUI Darul' Ulum Banda Aceh, 3) and the relationship between self-determination with social support. Subjects were students YPUI SMP Islam Darul Uloom Banda Aceh. A population of 68 people, the daughter of 37 students and 31 male students while using a sample of the total samples because the population is less than 100 then dipenelitian sample numbering 68 people. The method used is quantitative approach and the type of descriptive and correlational research. Methods of data collection using a scale of self determination and scale of social support in the form of Likert scale. The results showed that students' self-determination the dominant middle category with a percentage of 63.23%, and the social support of students are also dominant in the medium category, namely the percentage of 60.29%. Correlation test results in this study showed that the two variables, the variable self determination and social support has a correlation value of 0.690 with a significance level of 0.000. ABSTRAK Kemampuan Determinasi diri yang baik dibutuhkan oleh remaja dalam menghadapi masa awal di sekolah menengah pertama karena kemampuan ini diperkirakan dapat membantu remaja untuk bertahan dalam menghadapi tantangan ataupun hambatan di lingkungan sekolah maupun masyarakat.Kemampuan ini sendiri tak lepas dari faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya salah satunya adalah social support.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui 1) Tingkat determinasi diri siswa SMP Islam YPUI Darul ‘Ulum Banda Aceh, 2) Tingkat Social support siswa SMP Islam YPUI Darul ‘Ulum Banda Aceh, 3) dan hubungan antara determinasi diri dengan social support.Subyek penelitian adalah siswa SMP Islam YPUI Darul ‘Ulum Banda Aceh. Populasi berjumlah 68 orang, yakni 37 siswa putri dan 31 siswa putra sedangkan sampel menggunakan sampel total karena jumlah populasi yang kurang dari 100 maka sampel dipenelitian ini berjumlah 68 orang. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dan jenis penelitiannya deskriptif dan korelasional. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan skala determinasi diri dan skala social support dalam bentuk skala likert. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa determinasi diri siswa dominan berada pada kategori sedang dengan persentase 63,23%, dan social support siswa juga dominan dalam kategori sedang yaitu dengan persentase 60,29%. Hasil uji korelasi pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kedua variabel, yaitu variabel determinasi diri dan social support memiliki nilai korelasi sebesar 0,690 dengan tingkat signifikansi sebesar 0,000. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif dan kuat antara variabel determinasi diri dan social support siswa SMP Islam YPUI Darul ‘Ulum Banda Aceh.
