Abstract

This research is motivated by the low interest of students writing the text of description on the students of Middle VII Middle-Class Farmers. To that end, the writer wanted to know the student activity in learning to write the description text by applying the problem-based learning method of the students of class VII of SMP Negeri 1 Tengah Tani, and to know the profile of writing the description text in the learning by using problem based on student VII SMP Negeri 1 Tengah Tani. Based on the result of a written test in this research, concluded that t count 2,23 and t table price 2.04 for 5% significance level, this means the application of a method of PBM in learning to write text description of the student of class VII of SMP Negeri 1 Tengah Tani effective. Meanwhile, the results of data observation in the form of student activity found that in the learning, established a good communicative relationship, in this case, the existence of an interaction between students with teachers, as well as students with other students. Profile writing text description of the students in grade VII SMP Negeri 1 Tengah Tani in learning by applying the PBM method has been very good, in this case, there is already an increase in test results between the initial test score with the final test score. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya minat siswa menulis teks deskripsi pada siswa SMP Negeri Tengah Tani Kelas VII. Untuk itu, penulis ingin mengetahui aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran menulis teks deskripsi dengan menerapkan metode pembelajaran berbasis masalah siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Tengah Tani, dan untuk mengetahui profil menulis teks deskripsi dalam pembelajaran dengan menggunakan berbasis masalah pada siswa VII SMP Negeri 1 Tengah Tani. Berdasarkan hasil tes tertulis dalam penelitian ini, menyimpulkan bahwa thitung 2,23 dan harga ttabel 2,04 untuk taraf signifikansi 5%, hal ini berarti penerapan metode PBM dalam pembelajaran menulis teks deskripsi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Tengah Tani berlangsung efektif. Sementara itu, hasil dari observasi data berupa aktivitas siswa, didapat bahwa dalam pembelajaran tersebut, terjalin hubungan komunikatif yang baik, dalam hal ini sudah adanya interaksi antara siswa dengan guru, serta siswa dengan siswa lainnya. Profil menulis teks deskripsi siswa pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Tengah Tani dalam pembelajaran dengan menerapkan metode PBM sudah sangat baik, dalam hal ini sudah ada peningkatan hasil tes antara nilai tes awal dengan nilai tes akhir.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain folklore teaching materials as a character education scaffold. The folklore studied was taken from the environment of Cirebon community students. The research method used is research and development. The stages carried out are (1) initial collection and analysis of folklore, textbooks used, and the need for teaching materials; (2) development of teaching materials design and validation; (3) reconstruction of teaching materials based on input from expert validation results; (4) evaluation through the feasibility test for use in learning in schools; and (5) implementation of teaching materials in learning. The results showed that the development of affective competence through folklore is a scaffold for students' character education. The development of character education is used to develop ideas or ideas in compiling short stories. Character education is carried out through teaching materials containing the values of local wisdom of folklore into short stories.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan bahan ajar cerita rakyat sebagai perancah pendidikan karakter. Cerita rakyat yang diteliti diambil dari lingkungan peserta didik masyarakat Cirebon. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan. Adapun tahapan yang dilakukan adalah: (1) pengumpulan dan analisis awal cerita rakyat, buku teks yang digunakan, dan kebutuhan bahan ajar; (2) pengembangan desain bahan ajar dan validasi; (3) rekonstruksi ulang bahan ajar berdasarkan masukan hasil validasi ahli; (4) evaluasi melalui uji kelayakan penggunaan dalam pembelajaran di sekolah; dan (5) implementasi bahan ajar dalam pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan kompetensi afektif melalui cerita rakyat merupakan perancah (scaffolding) bagi pendidikan karakter siswa. Pengembangan pendidikan karakter dimanfaatkan untuk mengembangkan ide atau gagasan dalam menyusun cerita pendek. Pendidikan karakter dilakukan melalui bahan ajar bermuatan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal cerita rakyat ke dalam cerita pendek.

Abstract

Kedudukan bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa nasional tampaknya mulai meredup dewasa ini. Bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa nasional di antaranya berfungsi sebagai lambang identitas nasional, alat pemersatu masyarakat yang berbeda latar belakag sosial budaya dan bahasanya, serta sebagai alat perhubungan antarbudaya antardaerah mulai ditinggalkan oleh penutur aslinya. Penggunaan bahasa Indonesia yang baik dan benar kini mulai mengalami pergeseran di kalangan pemakainya. Hal demikian bukan tidak mungkin akan menjadi masalah bagi eksistensi bahasa Indonesia. Pemakai bahasa Indonesia perlu dibina. Bukan berarti anti terhadap bahasa asing, namun seorang pemakai bahasa juga harus punya sikap bahasa yang positif dan kebanggaan terhadap bahasa bangsanya. Salah satu sikap bahasa yang dapat dijadikan alternatif untuk pembinaan bahasa ialah dengan disiplin berbahasa. Disiplin berbahasa nasional merupakan pematuhan aturan-aturan yang berlaku dalam bahasa Indonesia dengan memperhatikan situasi dan kondisi pemakaiannya. Setiap warga negara Indonesia, pada dasarnya adalah pemakai sekaligus pembina bahasa Indonesia. Tujuan utama pembinaan bahasa Indonesia ialah menumbuhkan dan membina sikap positif terhadap bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract

Folklore is an important part of cultural heritage that contains moral and social values. In the context of education, folklore not only serves as entertainment, but also as an effective learning medium to shape children's character. This article discusses the influence of folklore on children's character building through literary and psychological approaches. This research uses a qualitative method, the analysis is done by reviewing relevant literature and research. The results show that folktales are able to instil moral values, strengthen cultural identity, and develop empathy and tolerance in children. In addition, the emotional impact produced by folktales strengthens the internalisation of these values in children, making them an important tool in character education. This article recommends the wider utilisation of folklore in education to strengthen children's character building.

Abstract

Background. Academic writing depends not only on individual skills, but also on habits and strategies that support productivity. In conducting research, establish a structured work pattern, utilize time effectively, and create an environment that fosters consistency in writing. Aims. To explore the experience of language teachers: how the discovery model is used in practice and its impact on the interaction between teacher and student. Methods. The research method used in this study is qualitative descriptive. Data source of Indonesian teachers in junior high school, totalling two people who have used the invention model in learning to write fantasy texts. Participants were selected based on the criteria of active involvement in using the discovery model, as well as relevant teaching experience. Result. Teachers hope for the development of a more flexible, intuitive, and accessible learning model. The support needed includes ongoing training, the provision of digital devices in schools, and a curriculum that is adaptive to the use of discovery models. Collaboration between the government and schools is needed to realize more effective and equitable learning. Conclusion. The use of educational technology in language learning, particularly in writing fantasy texts in junior high school, has a significant positive impact on both the learning process and the experience of students and teachers. Implementation. The discovery model in education can encourage students to improve their critical thinking skills, creativity, and engagement in the learning process.

Abstract

General background: The cultivation of empathy and creativity is crucial in secondary education, particularly in literary learning. Specific background: However, many students exhibit limited empathetic engagement and creative expression when learning short stories. Knowledge gap: Previous studies on Project Based Learning (PjBL) in literature often overlook its differential effects on empathy versus creativity. Aims: This study investigates the effectiveness of PjBL in enhancing empathy and creative writing skills through short story learning in Grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Plumbon Cirebon. Results: Using a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design, data were collected via short story writing tests, empathy questionnaires, project assessments, and classroom observations, analyzed with paired t-tests, independent t-tests, and simple linear regression. Findings reveal that PjBL implementation followed the prescribed syntax, promoted active participation, and produced short stories rich in empathetic and creative elements. While empathy improved significantly within the experimental group, intergroup comparisons and regression indicated no statistically significant effect on empathy, but a significant positive effect on creativity. Novelty: This research distinguishes the distinct impact of PjBL on two character dimensions in literature learning. Implications: PjBL is a promising pedagogical strategy to foster students’ creative capacity in literary contexts. Highlights: Significant boost in students’ creative writing skills. Empathy improved but not statistically significant between groups. PjBL effectively engages students in literary learning.
