Abstract

Teacher should utilize collaborative strategy when teaching short story writing since short story writing requires more stages to practice. The following are the objectives of this study: (1) to look into the process of teaching a short narrative using a collaborative approach; (2) to look into the process of teaching a short tale using a collaborative approach; (3) to look into the effects of employing collaborative learning to teach short stories; and (4) to look at the benefits of the teacher's method of teaching a short tale to third-grade pupils through collaborative tehcnique. This study used qualitative research with third-grade bidikmisi scholarship students at STAI Brebes as participants. Data was collected by observation, interview, and documentation. The data for this study came from a teacher and pupils in the third grade at STAI Brebes' bidikmisi scholarship program. The findings of this study revealed that employing collaborative writing in the classroom to teach short stories resulted in (1) students being able to develop their short story writing skills; (2) students were able to write a short story in Indonesian; (3) students were able to translate a short story into English; (4) students learned new vocabulary; and (5) students were able to assess grammar in the classroom. The benefits of teaching short stories through collaborative technique were as follows: (1) students were able to engage in social contact; and (2) students were able to explore ideas in short story writing.

Abstract

Character Building Education (PPK) was born with the background of many juvenile delinquency, moral degeneration, the entry of radicalism that endangers the Republic of Indonesia and the decline in the sense of nationality and noble character in adolescents. However, the results of implementing KDP have not looked significant. Therefore, researchers are trying to uncover why this can happen and then provide a solution by creating a KDP model which is expected to be the best way to solve this problem. The KDP model that we designed was BITAUATI (guiding, monitoring and managing). To analyze the research, first the researcher used documentation data from books, newspapers, the internet and sources. To design the KDP model, the researchers used the Grounded method. Meanwhile, to analyze how the implementation of conventional KDP so far, how to implement the KDP Bitau'ati model and the results of its implementation, the researchers used the R and D method. the heart of the students so that they happily put it into practice. Basic skills training makes them ready to face the academic world, the world of work, the world of entrepreneurship. The student's delinquency rate decreased sharply, the students became more orderly and disciplined, with their awareness of maintaining order, tidiness, cleanliness and beauty.

Abstract

Abtract : Many discussions about the benefit of literary work and literature teaching lead the presence of this research. It appears to reveal the process of literature teaching in responding literature. This research explores about EFL learner’s ability in responding literary text whether it is directly or indirectly. This research, therefore, reveals the involvement of emotion, experience, and interest while responding text. This research also reveals the engagement between EFL learners and text based on some criteria which have stated above. Another problem is the way EFL learner respond text appropriately especially literary text. This research used case study because this research attempts to describe engagement between reader and literary work which pointed out by reader response. This research also wants to describe the contribution of literature teaching behind learners’ process in responding it. The researcher found contribution of literature teaching from learners’ involvement as respondents in this research, that is, learners involved their personal experience in responding text as aesthetic demand. This is the learning objective of “Literary Work Analysis” course and it means that the expected achievement in this course is achieved. Keywords : EFL, lietrature work, literature teaching, students responds.

Abstract

Linguistic data often record cultural values and reflects the social dynamics of society based on cultural values. The purpose of this study is to analyze the discourse and speech of the Javanese Ngapak language which contains cultural values and the way that culture is constructed through discourse and speech language. The object of this study is discourse and the approach used is linguistic-sociological, or usually called sociolinguistics. The method used in this paper is a qualitative descriptive research method that produces descriptive data in the form of speech, writing, or observed behavior, using the listening and writing technique. The results of the study show that good culture, religious teachings, and a culture of sharing with others are found in the discourse and utterances of the Ngapak Javanese language. These cultures are constructed through the Ngapak Javanese language in a relaxed, serious, prayer and humorous atmosphere, showing the reality of the Ngapak-speaking community. This means that cultural values are found in discourse in the form of community conversations, texts and speech in various forms which are constructed through the Javanese Ngapak language to reflect reality.

Abstract

In this pandemic situation, English learning mostly has been done online. Hence it’s tutor job to be creative.  Moodle based e learning hoped give  solution.This study has purpose to: (1) produce an appropriate Moodle-based English e-learning product in improving language features of story understanding at Jovelin Course (2) find out how effective Moodle-based e-learning is on language features of story understanding at Jovelin Course. This research uses Research Development. Data collection instruments are interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The following is the study's findings. (1) An online Learning Management System (LMS) based on the Moodle application software version 3.1 was used to produce the e-learning offering. (2) Based on media expert validation with a score of 3.68 with "good" criteria, material expert validation with an average score of 4.29 with "very good" criteria, and user responses with a score of 4.28 with "very good" criteria, Moodle-based e-learning products were declared eligible as learning media. (3) The use of e-learning improved the learning results of Intermediate Level Jovelin Course Brebes students. The rise in learning outcomes, as measured by the percentage of pretest and postest, demonstrates the efficiency of the product for learning English in the capacity of recognizing linguistic aspects of tale on video. Abstract

This research conducted to gather whether these textbook contained 21st century or not in communication, collaborative, critical thinking, flexibility and adaptability, leadership and responsibility, creativity and innovation are the skills that should be included in English tasks in 21st century skills. Then the researches will be spell out the textbook by using analysis. The purpose of this research is to detect what the preparation of academic English textbook coincide with the 21st century skills. Qualitative method was used in this research to reveal the analysis of the researcher. The sample of this research is analysis the content related to suitability of the textbook in 21stcentury.There are still few researchers who examine how 21st century skills is implemented in collage English textbook. As a final note, the researcher advises doing study on how published materials are utilized in courses, schools, and universities throughout the nation because she believes it is crucial to do so in order to achieve the intended learning objectives. Also make them more accurate to be learned for each student and teacher or lecturer. The researcher hopes the further research is more detail and conical to the similar problem to be analyses.

Abstract

The research entitled “An Analysis of Digital Resources Implementation on Speaking Performance at Vocational High School” is aimed to answer the question how is the implementation digital resources in speaking performance, The research also tries to find out how is the implementation digital resources in speaking performance. In addition, how are the perception of the English teachers and students’ about the implementation of digital resources for speaking performance? The case study as its research method and descriptive qualitative is used as a design of this research. There are three instruments used to collect the data. First is the observation of field-notes, second is the interview for the English teacher and students, and third is a documentation of related lesson plan and syllabus. Techniques for analyzing qualitative data, such as collecting data, reduction data, display data, and conclusion/verification. As a result, it was found that the implementation of digital resource on students’ speaking performance worked well. This was evident from the answers of the students when this method was introduced, because they positively evaluated the method used; they actively participate in the learning process. The implementation of digital resources also greatly supports learning activities to improve this aspect of speaking skills and increase student autonomy, which in turn can facilitate students' the ability to use these skills communicatively.
