Abstract

Giving instruction for a language class specifically a grammar class can be a problematic issue of controversy in EFL context for non native speaker (NNS) teacher due to the lack of approach or strategies implementation and the language problem faced in the teaching and learning process. The primary aim of this article is to provide some insight for teachers when conducting or giving instruction to the teaching of English grammar. It also highlights that in giving instruction, combining deductive and inductive approaches can be beneficial for teachers or faculties who are teaching English grammar in the setting of EFL context. Hence, they have to vary the strategies whether it should be extensive or intensive as suggested by Hinkel (2006) in which it might be one of the technique that can be put into account and applied in order to make the teaching of grammar more effective and efficient.Keywords : EFL context, deductive and inductive approaches

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis paper explores the teaching of grammar to foreign young learners. It is aimed at giving some insight to teachers specifically to private English teachers encompassing primary young learner, simple grammar game, and teaching grammar to young learner. This article also provides information of how to conduct simple grammar game in EFL class. Although it is still debatable concerning the teaching of grammar to young learners, teachers should provide fun and interesting activities to teaching it to their pupils. Therefore, it is crucial as the English teacher in teaching grammar to young learners in order to help them recognize adequate number of basic knowledge or language skills in their level. In order to bridge the gap, simple grammar game could be used as a natural way to help and lead them to the understanding of the grammar that they may put and make use of it into their real life context in learning English.Keywords: Grammar, Primary Young Learners, Language Skills ABSTRAKMakalah ini membahas pengajaran tatabahasa Inggris kepada anak-anak Sekolah Dasar dengan tujuan untuk memberikan masukan kepada para guru khususnya untuk guru bahasa Inggris yang mencakupanak-anak Sekolah Dasar, permainan tatabahasa sederhana, dan tata bahasa pengajaran dalam anak-anak Sekolah Dasar. Artikel inijuga memberikan informasi bagaimana cara menjalankan permainan tatabahasa sederhana di kelas bahasa Inggris. Meski masih bisa diperdebatkan mengenai pengajaran tatabahasa kepada anak-anak Sekolah Dasar, guru diharapkan untuk memberikan kegiatan yang menyenangkan dan menarik untuk mengajarkannya kepada murid-muridnya. Oleh karena itu, sangat penting bagi guru bahasa Inggris dalam mengajarkan tatabahasa kepada anak-anak Sekolah Dasar sehingga membantu siswa/i dalam mengenali pengetahuan dasar atau kemampuan bahasa yang memadai ditingkat mereka. Untuk menjembatani kesenjangan tersebut, permainan tatabahasa dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu cara alami untuk membantu dan mengarahkan anak-anak Sekolah Dasar dalam memahami tata bahasa yang mungkin dapat dimasukkan dan gunakan ke dalam konteks kehidupan nyata mereka dalam mempelajari bahasa Inggris.Kata Kunci: Permainan Tatabahasa, anak-anak Sekolah Dasar,Pengetahuan Dasar

Abstract

Abstrak Tulisan ini merupakan salah satu upaya untuk membahas tugas dan pertimbangan dari peran tes yang dibuat guru sebagai salah satu bentuk evaluasi dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar bagi mahasiswa. Hal ini juga diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dan manfaat bagi para guru bahasa Inggris, pembuat tes atau para praktisi untuk mendorong mereka dalam membuat tes yang memenuhi syarat tanpa mengabaikan prosedur standar untuk membuat tes yang baik. Tujuan artikel ini adalah untuk memberikan informasi tentang mengapa tes yang baik diperlukan dan harus diperhatikan oleh pembuat tes mengenai keandalan, keajegan, dan kepraktisannya dalam merancang tes yang baik (lihat Brown, 2004). Kata kunci: evaluasi, reliabilitas, validitas, kepraktisan, tes yang baik ABSTRACT This paper is an attempt to discuss the tasks and considerations of the role of teacher-made test as one type of the evaluation in teaching and learning 82activities for university students. It is also expected to give contributions and benefits to the English teachers, test makers or practitioners to encourage them in making a qualified test without neglecting the standard procedure of making a good test. The aim of this article is to provide information about why good test is needed and has to be noticed by the test makers regarding its reliability, validity, and practicality of designing a good test (see Brown, 2004).Keywords: evaluation, reliability, validity, practicality, good test

Abstract

Various levels of society experience the condition of the COVID-19 pandemic; its influence is enormous in multiple sectors. Meanwhile, during the pandemic period, a quarantine is imposed to break the chain of COVID-19. The entire community must carry out work, worship, and study activities from home. During the quarantine process, they are confused about what to do, so they often conflict with themselves and with people outside themselves. So that a positive mentality must be built to be able to motivate yourself. The method used in this community service is individual counseling; counseling is carried out on female workers who are victims of layoffs in the Pulogadung industrial area, East Jakarta. Through community service activities, female workers who are victims of layoffs learn how to motivate themselves by seeing their potential and the good side of every incident. The workers also help each other and direct others to always think positively and be ready to rise to face the pandemic conditions with a healthy mentality.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Guru sebagai tenaga pendidik disekolah diharapkan memiliki kompetensi sesuai dengan Undang-undang No. 14 Tahun 2005 Tentang Guru dan Dosen Pasal 10 pasal 1 mengungkapkan guru harus memiliki kompetensi pedagogik, kompetensi kepribadian, kompetensi sosial, dan kompetensi profesional. Pengabdian  kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini dilaksanakan disalah satu sekolah penggerak angkatan pertama di kabupaten Karawang yaitu SMAN 6, PKM dalam bentuk pelatihan tersebut dilakukan dalam bentuk pelatihan yang dilakukan selama 2 hari pada tanggal 13-15 Juli 2022. Pelaksanaan pelatihan guru dimulai dari kebutuhan kepala sekolah SMAN 6 Karawang yang menceritakan terdapat kebingungan tenaga pendidik disekolah tersebut terhadap pengoptimalan tehnologi digital dalam kegiatan pembelajaran disekolah secara khusus terhadap penerapan kurikulum merdeka yang telah diadopsi sekolah sejak 2021. Kegiatan PKM yang dilakukan di SMAN 6 Karawang sangat membantu guru memasuki tahun ajaran baru, pengembangan kemampuan guru merupakan salah satu upaya yang dilakukan sekolah terhadap kebutuhan tenaga pendidik disekolah tersebut. Kata Kunci: Stres, Kompetensi Guru, Sekolah Penggerak ABSTRACT Teachers as educators in schools are expected to have competence in accordance with Law no. 14 of 2005 Tebtang Teachers and Lecturers Article 10 article 1 states that teachers must have pedagogic competence, personality competence, social competence, and professional competence. This community service (PKM) was carried out at one of the first generation of schools in Karawang district, namely SMAN 6, PKM in the form of training was carried out in the form of training carried out for 2 days on July 13-15 2022. The implementation of teacher training started from the needs of the principal. the school of SMAN 6 Karawang which told that there was confusion among the educators at the school regarding optimizing digital technology in learning activities at school in particular to the application of the independent curriculum that the school had adopted since 2021. PKM activities carried out at SMAN 6 Karawang greatly helped teachers enter the new school year, development The ability of teachers is one of the efforts made by schools to meet the needs of educators in the school. Keywords: Stress; Teacher Competence; Driving School
