Abstract

Abstract This Article analyses a keen relationship between mass media and the audience, and also analyses between their elemenets and attibutes that intersects one to another. After the awareness of both sides (mass media and the audience) meet, mingle, and even grapple in the process of productions and receptions, they mutually produce an awareness that make them both more mature, i.e. the awareness of mass media related to its role and its function; and the awareness of the audience regarding their essence and their existence as an audience.---AbstrakArtikel ini mengkaji hubungan yang saling menginginkan antara berita di media massa dan audience serta elemen dan atribut yang saling bersinggungan diantara keduanya. Setelah kesadaran pada masing-masing pihak bertemu, berjabatan, bahkan bersitegang dalam proses produksi dan resepsinya, kemudian lahirlah kesadaran yang mendewasakan diantara keduanya, kesadaran media massa akan peran dan fungsinya dan kesadaran audience terhadap esensi dan eksistensinya sebagai seorang audience.DOI: 10.15408/al-turas.v23i1.4807

Abstract

Globalization has a very wide influence, including the shifts that occur in the industrial sector in the era of globalization. There are at least two shifting phenomena in the industrial sector today, namely the phenomenon of shifting from production to consumption issues, and shifting focus of capitalism from exploiting workers to exploiting consumers. Indonesia as a Muslim-majority country makes the Muslim market a very promising field for consumer exploitation for capitalists. The capitalists take advantage of the Islamic religion as a commodity to achieve maximum profit in exploiting Muslim consumers. In the beginning, religion was not something that was a commodity by the capitalists, it was made like a commodity that would bring in a lot of profit. This paper examines the phenomena that occur in society regarding the commodification of the Islamic religion. The purpose of this study is to examine the phenomenon of the commodification of Islam in Indonesia as a marketing strategy targeting the Muslim market. The method used in this research is a literature review or literature review, namely by reviewing and critically examining the findings, ideas, or knowledge in the literature. The result of this research is that in Indonesia the commodification of the Islamic religion absolutely occurs, and is a marketing strategy that is mostly carried out by business actors.

Abstract

Kelompok LGBT merupakan salah satu gerakan sosial yang terjadi pada masyarakat. Perkembangannya tidak dapat disangkal didukung oleh kekuatan media. Media dapat menjadi wadah bagi kelompok ini untuk menyuarakan orientasi dan opini seksualnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian perpustakaan dengan menggunakan dukungan dari beberapa artikel, jurnal ilmiah, web dokumentasi dan media sosial. Hasil penelitian ini adalah apabila sebelumnya kelompok LGBT muncul melalui media konvensional seperti surat kabar atau televisi, saat kini mereka dapat tampil dan memberikan eksistensinya melalui platform media sosial seperti Youtube, Instagram dan Twitter dengan melakukan serangkaian kegiatan seperti menjadi content creator dan influencer. Meski banyak kritik atas kehadiran kelompok ini, tak sedikit juga yang memberikan dukungannya karena berani tampil di hadapan publik. Tujuan kelompok LGBT muncul melalui media sosial agar dapat menciptakan relasi antar kelompok dan mengubah stigma negatif yang selama ini ada di masyarakat.

Abstract

Student groups or communities living in Yogyakarta create fuses that can catch fire at any time. Groups in Yogyakarta have the potential to experience offense caused by various aspects. The frequent occurrence of identity and ethnic conflicts is quite disturbing, especially for indigenous people. Yogyakarta society is facing the challenge of homogeneity in particular, long before theories and studies about the dangers of homogeneity, there were several special philosophies that the Yogyakarta people always adhered to in carrying out their life roles. The role of the Palace and the implementation of the special philosophy in Yogyakarta has not been fully understood by most people, especially immigrants. The collaboration between the religious patterns of Yogyakarta society and the philosophy of privilege is very closely related to the concept of Islam Nusantara. Indirectly, it is hoped that such collaboration with the heterogeneous society of Yogyakarta can reduce homogenization conflicts, both religious and cultural. One of them is the "Imaginary Axis". The Imaginary Axis is visualized in the form of three special places in Yogyakarta which include Mount Merapi, Tugu Yogyakarta, Keraton, Panggung Krapyak, and South Beach. The Imaginary Axis symbolizes harmony and balance in nature. Nature here consists of five aspects, namely fire from Mount Merapi, soil from the earth of Nga-Yogyakarta, air from the South Coast, wind, and space. So the Imaginary Axis philosophy can be interpreted as a harmonization between the environment and the physical, namely balance in the relationship between humans and God, humans and fellow humans, and humans and nature. This article reviews the relationship between religion and culture with the Yogyakarta philosophical axis using a phenomenological literature review data analysis framework.

Abstract

Seiring perkembangan studi agama, muncul konsep religiusitas dan spiritualitas yang diperdebatkan oleh para ahli. Agama dan spiritual mulai mengalami pemisahan ketika terjadi sekulerisme Barat pada pertengahan abad 19 masehi. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan jenis penelitian kepustakaan (Library Research). Religiusitas lebih dianggap sebagai suatu yang formal dan instusional, sedangkan spiritualitas dikaitkan dengan sesuatu pengalaman personal dan bersifat fungsional, serta mencerminkan upaya perolehan tujuan dan makna hidup. Spiritualitas dan religiusitas berbeda dari segi konsep, namun aspek tertentu keduanya bersinggungan. Teosofi yang berarti kebijaksanaan Tuhan adalah suatu perkumpulan yang dipelopori oleh madam Helena Petrovna Blavatsky. Substansi dari ajaran agama ialah spiritualitas sehingga agama tidak bisa lepas dari spiritualitas. Agama dan religiusitas merupakan bentuk formal atau institusi untuk menuju spiritualitas. Regiusitas terpaku oleh tatanan yang dibentuk oleh struktur teologi tertentu sedangkan spiritualitas memiliki kehendak bebas. [ As the study of religion developed, the concepts of religiosity and spirituality were debated by scholars. Religion and spirituality began to experience separation when Western secularism occurred in the mid-19th century. In this research, the author uses the type of library research. Religiosity is more considered as something formal and institutional, while spirituality is associated with something personal and functional experience, and reflects efforts to obtain the purpose and meaning of life. Spirituality and religiosity are different in terms of concepts, but certain aspects of both intersect. Theosophy, which means the wisdom of God, is an association pioneered by Madam Helena Petrovna Blavatsky. The substance of religious teachings is spirituality so religion cannot be separated from spirituality. Religion and religiosity are formal forms or institutions of spirituality. Religiosity is fixed by the order formed by certain theological structures while spirituality has free will pioneered by Madam Helena Petrovna Blavatsky. Abstract

The tradition of sayyang pattu’du’ is a celebratory tradition in West Sulawesi by the Mandar ethnic group as an expression of gratitude upon successfully completing the recitation of the Qur'an. This tradition is considered to embody Islamic values passed down from generation to generation. This research aims to analyze values within the culture of sayyang pattu’du’ that may contradict Islamic values. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with a field research approach. There were six informants in this study. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation, supported by various scholarly literature. Data analysis involved data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research findings indicate that there are certain aspects within the sayyang pattu’du’ tradition that the author considers to be inconsistent with Islamic values, contrary to the intended demonstration of Islamic values through this tradition.

Abstract

Keterampilan berbahasa Arab, secara tidak langsung akan memudahkan seseorang berkomunikasi dengan baik. Salah satu aspek terpenting agar tercapainya komunikasi yang baik, diperlukan suatu perbendaharaan kata bahasa Arab yang banyak. Mufrodat (kosakata bahasa Arab) merupakan salah satu unsur terpenting agar terciptanya komunikasi yang baik. Melalui mufrodat, seseorang akan mampu berinteraksi dan berkomukasi dengan banyak orang. Artinya, salah satu kemahiran berbahasa Arab yaitu berbicara tidak akan berjalan tanpa didukung adanya pengetahuan tentang mufrodat. Selain itu, dengan perbendaraan kata yang dimiliki, seseorang akan terbantu ketika ingin menulis serta belajar tentang bahasa Arab. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan perbendaharaan mufrodat melalui program diniyyah di pondok pesantren Mutiara Qur’an Pengok. Penelitian ini berfokus pada permasalahan: Pertama, bagaimana proses pembelajaran program diniyyah dalam upaya meningkatkan perbendaharaan mufrodat. Kedua, apakah ada peningkatan yang signifikan terhadap perbendaharaan mufrodat melalui program diniyyah. Penilitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan responden 1 mahasantri, 1 ustadz pengajar di pondok pesantren Mutiara Qur’an. Instrumen pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan observasi dan wawancara, dengan judul “Upaya Peningkatan Perbendaharaan Mufrodat Melalui Program Diniyyah”. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan dihasilkan bahwa: pertama, metode yang dilakukan sangat membantu mahasantri dalam meningkatkan perbendaharaan mufrodat. Kedua, ada peningkatan yang cukup signifikan terhadap perbendaharaan mufrodat melalui program diniyyah

Abstract

This research aims to examine the correlation between maharah al-kalam (Arabic speaking skills) and the level of self-confidence among students in the Arabic Education Study Program (PBA) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga. Understanding this relationship is vital for recognizing how self-confidence impacts speaking proficiency, a core competency for future Arabic educators. A quantitative design with a correlation method was employed here. Data were collected through a questionnaire adapted from Yusuf Al Uqshaw's book on self-confidence, utilizing a 1-5 Likert scale for measurement. The analysis revealed a significant relationship (r = 0.322), indicating that higher maharah al-kalam is associated with increased levels of self-confidence among students. These findings suggest that self-confidence can enhance mastery of speaking skills. Therefore, it is crucial to integrate the development of speaking skills and self-confidence into the Arabic language curriculum, enabling educators to better support students in their learning processes and contribute to their success as future educators.

Abstract

Veil is a symbol of religious obedience for Muslim women. That is what continues to be believed until the occurrence of modernization which causes a value shift in the scope of the meaning of the veil. This article focuses on the scope of the veil which has become the lifestyle of Muslim women today. The approach used in this research is qualitative by conducting field studies in the form of observations around the Sleman area, Yogyakarta to observe Muslim women who use the veil with various models and types. In addition, this article also uses previous research as a foundation in research and to collect the data needed. After obtaining the data sought, data analysis is then carried out which is divided into three, namely data reduction, data presentation, and finally data verification on conclusion drawing. The result obtained is that modernization has a positive and negative impact on the veil users. The advantage is the progress in thinking of women who wear the veil so that they are not confined to the authority of men, while the disadvantage is the erosion of religious values from the use of veil which should have the main function to cover the intimate part (aurat) and curves of the female body and maintain women’s honor into a trend due to the influence of modernization. nevertheless, this article does not blame any hijab models used in daily life. Of course it goes back to the rights of each individual.
