Abstract

Abstract Sleep is one of the basic human needs. Sleep quality is important for health and healing from a illness. Illness can cause many effects to children, one of them is the children have lack of sleep or even can not sleep at all. Sleep disturbance cause various negative effect for children’s growth and development. The aim of this research was to determine sleep quality in children with acute pain. The research used descriptive design. The research was conducted in Public Health Center Simpang Tiga through 144 respondents that taken by purposive sampling technique. The instrument was The Children’s Sleep Habits Questionnaire (CSHQ) with 16 items consist of 4 domains: bedtime, sleep behavior, waking during the night, and morning waking. Data analisys used univariate to determine characteristic and sleep quality of respondents. The most characteristic respondents were preschool children wich age 3-5 years (52,1%), the most of participants were female (52,1%), the most participants have fever as illness (45,1%). The result of this research represents total sleep quality are disorders (56,9%) wich are bedtime, sleep behavior, waking during the night, and morning waking. This research recommends to nurse in Public Health Center to concerned with sleep quality in children. Keywords                     : acute pain, preschool children, sleep quality,

Abstract

Abstract Tuberculosis, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis and polio are the largest cause of mortality and morbidity in children, so that very important to prevent the occurrence these diseases one of them can be prevented by immunization. This research aims to identify relationship of knowledge with mother’s motivation in giving basic immunization to their children in health care. This research was quantitative by using correlative descriptive method and cross sectional design. This research was conducted in Umban Sari primary health care Pekanbaru by total sample 111 respondents who taken by using cluster sampling technique. The measuring instrument used questionnaire sheet. Analysis used Chi-Square test. The result of Chi-Square showed there was significant relationship between knowledge with mother’s motivation in giving basic immunization to their children (p value 0.000 <α 0.05). The research recommend nurse (or paramedic) health care to increase promoting and monitoring immunization program, increase mother motivation to immunization their children and minimalized factors that could lack motivation. Abstract

Abstract Youth education is one indicator to see the success of a nation. Factors that affecting student motivation to learn was the codition itself, which are related to physical and psychological condition. Resilience is one of the psychological conditions that need to be noticed in adolescent’s living in orphanages. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between resilience with motivation to  learn adolescents in orphanage. The method used descriptive correlation with cross sectional approach. This research was conducted in 4 orphanages in Pekanbaru, which Putra Muhamadiyah orphanage, Ar-Rahim orphanage, Putri Aisyiah orphanage, and Babussalam orphanage, with number of sample 105 respondens that taken by using cluster sampling. This research used reciliency questionnaire and learn motivation questionnaire as measuring instrument which has tested the validity and reliability, and Chi-Square test used to analyzing the data. The result of this research shows that adolescents who higher reciliency has a high motivation to learn, that is 65,5 %, while adolescents who have low resilience has a low learning motivation, that is 57.4%. The conclusion based on the result of this research that there was relationship between resilience with motivation to learn adolescents in orphanage (p value 0,031 < 0,05), it is suggested manager of orphanage to facilitate adolescents in improving the ability of adolescents grow stronger facing problems experienced or also called reciliency so that high motivation to learn can be achived.
