Abstract

ABSTRACT The results of studying biology class VIII SMP 4 Payakumbuh in the school year 2012/2013 has not been satisfactory, and is under the minimum completeness criteria (KKM). The low student learning outcomes because teachers are still using the media and methods of learning that are less variable in the learning process in the human digestive system material that is abstract. The use of interactive learning media that accompanied the map concept is expected to motivate students to learn actively, creatively, and effectively. This study aimed to examine the effect of the use of interactive learning media that accompanied concept maps on learning outcomes of students SMP 4 Payakumbuh biology. This study is an experimental research study design with randomized control group  design only. The population in  this study were  students of class  VIII  SMP 4Payakumbuh academic year 2013/2014 which consists of 9 classes. Sampling using purposive sampling, in order to obtain a sample class that is a class 2 VIII6 as the experimental class and the control class as a class VIII9. Form of the test used is an objective test. The technique of data analysis is to examine both the average similarity with the t-test at the 0.05 significance level. The results of the analysis of data obtained while the price of t 2.14 1.67 t table, this means tcount> ttable which means that the hypothesis is accepted. From this study it can  be  concluded that  the  results of  biological studies  students by  using interactive learning  media  that accompanied the concept map material effect on the digestive system biology student learning outcomes using conventional learning in class VIII SMP 4 Payakumbuh.

Abstract

 Abstract Tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill) is one of the horticultural plants was found around Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia and quickly spread in to all of world. Tomatoes consist of several nutrients such as vitamins A and C. Tomatoes havealso high content of water and soft texture, therefore tomatoes can not be saved for a long time, they are easy to be damage after harvesting caused by handling and transporting. They are also easy to be contaminated by microorganism such as fungus and bacteria. It will make the tomato decomposed and decayed. The purpose of this research is to inventarisation of fungus found on tomatoes were sold in some markets in Padang.  This  research  has  done  in  laboratory  of Microbiology of the Department  o f Biology,  faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty, Andalas University since February until March 2014. The research used descriptive survey method, and the samples were collected by purposive sampling. The fungi isolated in medium PDA and  characterised  macros- and  microscopicaly for the identification. The result  found three species of fungus, they are Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus parasiticus, Penicillium italicum and Mucor sp

Abstract

ABSTRACT The essential of learning is a process of communication between teacher-students and also students to students.  In  addition,  the  inappropriate  of  using  teaching  strategy  will  make  students  bored  in accepting the material so it will be difficult for students to understand and finally their mark is low. The low result of students can be influenced by two factors such as external and internal of students self. The dominant factor come from students interested in learning. One of the way to solve the problem is implementation active strategy type the firing line. The aim of this research is to know the effect of active learning strategy type the firing line in biology learning class VIII SMPN 1 Ranah Batahan Kabupaten West Pasaman. The type of this research is experimental research with randomized control group posttest only design. The population of this research is student class VIII the first semester  SMPN  1  Ranah  Batahan  academic  year  2013/2014  which  consist  of  three  class.  The technique of sampling is used purposive sampling, as VIII4  experimental class and VIII2 as control class. The instrument use objective test as 24 score. The analysis of data is done by t-test, with criterion tcalculate  > ttable. Based on the analysis, the range of experimental class is 74,1 with branching off standard 11,9, meanwhile the range of control class is 58,8 with branching off standard 9,4. In analysis of t-test, it can be gotten tcalculate (4,87) > ttable (2,08) so it can be concluded that, the learning process with active learning strategy type the firing line increase result of biology of student class VIII SMPN 1 Ranah Batahan.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  There are many factors influence the low mark of student’s Biology achievement. One of them , is the low of student interesting in Biology learning so it become pasive. One way to solue this problem is give an active learning strategi type planted question on student Biology achiment class VIII  MTs Muhammadiyah Silaping  Kabupaten West Pasaman. The type of this  reasearch is  exprimental  with  randomized  control  group  post  test  only  design.  The population is student from class VIII MTs Muhammadiyah Silaping academik year 2013/2014 which consist of three clas. The sampling technique used here was purposive sampling, which caried VIIIC   as experimental class and VIIIB as control class. The instrument which was used is test with objective from consist of 30 items. Data analysis was proven by test with criterion t calculate > t table. The result was the everage of Experimental class is 82,37 with branching 6,81 in contrast, control class is gotten 62,58 in average with 12,2 branching. From test, it can be gotten t calcurate (8,84) > t table   (1,67), so it can be concluded  that learning Biology with active learning strategy type planted question can increase the stundents Biology achievemrnt class VIII MTs Muhammadiyah Silaping.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Handout picture of a network tree with one of the teaching materials that help students in understanding the subject matter . This study aims to determine the validity and practicalities handout picture with network tree. This research is the development of the use of 4 - D Models consisting of 4 stages namely, define, design, develop, and disseminate. However , in this disseminate stage was not involved. This handout is validated by 3 lecturer and high school teachers PGRI   1 Padang. Test practicalities by 2 teachers and 20 students of class XI science. Data were analyzed with the technique and the percentage of processed descriptively. Handouts produced has a valid criterion is 81.57 %. Handouts are also said to be practically used by teachers and students with an average of 77.44 % and 81.25 %. Therefore, it can be concluded that the network tree with pictorial handouts on material structure and function of animal tissues generated are valid and practical.

Abstract

ABSTRAK There are several factors which influence the low-mark of students, in Biology subject such as low-interested of student, felt borning while learning and pasive in learning process which mean that students tend te be’un brave to express their opinion so it is difficult to know how far students understanding about the material. At least, teacher become the center of learning.One way to solve this problem is by giving active learning strategy type Giving Question and Getting Answer toward students Biologi achievement class VII SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan Kabupaten West Pasaman. The type of this reseach is experimental with Randomized Control- Group Posttest only design. Population of this research is second semester of students class VII SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan academic year 2013/2014. Which Consist of three classes. Purposive Sampling is used in technique of sampling which is gotten  as experimental class and  as control class. Test is used as final instrument in objektif form which consist of 28 items. Data analysis is done by t-test with criterion t-calculate > t-table. From the data analysis it can be gotten, the average of students Biologi mark in experimental class 76,78 with 10,32 standard deviation , otherwise, control class with 58,13 in average and 12,56 standard deviation. From t-test analysis, it can be proven t- calculate (5,79) >t-table (1,68). It can be concluded that, Active Learning Strategy type Giving Question and Getting Answer can improve students Biologi achievement class VII SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan
