Abstract

Green beans (Vigna radiata L.) is a food which have a high nutrition, so many consumed by the people. The need of green beans in Indonesia increased in every year,while production of green beens in Indonesia not enough to cover the need of green beens in Indonesia. The research aims to know the effect of ameliorant and the number of earthworms to growth and yields of green beans, and to get the right combination to increase the growth and yields of green bean. This research was implemented in the green house Technical Service Unit (UPT),Faculty of Agricultur Riau University. This research use the complete random design(RAL)that was arrangement two factors and three repeat. The first factor is three level of ameliorant and the second factor is four level number of earthworm. The parameter of observation is plant height, diameter of stem, number of primary branch, flower appearance age, harvest age, the number of pods per plant, the number of dryseeds per plant and the weight of dryseeds per plant. Giving of 10 ton.ha-1 chicken manure and 9 earthworms per plant show the better result to plant height, diameter  of stem, number of primary branch, harvest age, the number of pods per plant, the number of dry seeds per plant and the weight of dry seeds per plant. Giving of 10 ton.ha-1 tofu compost and 3 earthworm per plant showed the better result to plant height, diameter of stem, number of primary branch, number of pods per plant, the number of dryseeds per plant and the weight of dry seeds per plant. Keywords : green beans, earthworms, chicken manure, tofu compos

Abstract

The use of several kinds of compost on the arabica coffee seedlingis an effort to provide organic fertilizer from agricultural waste.This fertilizer is espected to improvethe growth of coffee seedling, because it has function as the source of nutrient and it is able to improve the physical and biological properties of soil. The research was carried out on the experimental station, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau on December 2016 – March 2017, by using a completely randomized design with the treatment without compost, cocoa fruit skin compost, OPEFB compost, tofu compost, straw compost, legume compost with dosage100 g/polybag. The growth observed was seedling height, stem diameter, number and area of leaves, root volume, root-shoot ratio, and dry weight of seedling.The result showed that giving ofseveral kinds of composteffect on parameter of area of leaves, root-shoot ratio, dry weight of seedling.The best treatment was obtained of legume compost 100 g/polybaghigher on parameter of seedling height, stem diameter, number and area of leaves, root-shoot ratio and dry weight of seedling.Key word : Arabica coffee seedling (Coffea arabica L.), Compost

Abstract

Efforts to obtain the good quality of seedling wos required a proper fertilization that is by giving  horn beetle lava feces (Oryctes rhinoceros). The aim of this research is to know the effect of the interaction of horn beetle lava feces (kolarhino) and NPK fertilizers and to the amount of NPK absorption and to get the best dose on the growth of palm oil seedlings (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.)in the main nursey.This research has been conducted in Experimental Station  Agriculture Faculty in Riau UniversityPekanbaru.The study was conducted for three months from August to November 2016.Field experiments were conducted using a complete factorial randomized design and three replications. The first factor of giving kolarhino consists of four levels, namely: 0 g per plant, 25 g per plant, 50 g per plant, 75 g per plant.The second factor of NPK compound fertilizer (15:15:15) consists of four levels, namely; 0 g per plant, 2.5 g per plant, 5.0 g per plant, 7.5 g per plant.The result of this research showed that significantly influenced on increase  height  seedlings,  the increase stem diameter root volume, root volume, dry weight of seedlings, N uptake , and  uptake P. While NPK fertilizer has significant effect on leaf number, root volume, dry weight of plant, and P absorption. Giving kolarhino 50 and 75 gr per platn showed better results for the growth of oil palm seedlings.  NPK fertilizer gave significant effect to the number of leaves root volume, dry weight of plants and phosphorus uptake. NPK fertilizer 2.5 gr per plant showed better result for the growth of oil palm seedlinhs. Giving kolarhino 50 and NPK fertilizer 2.5 gr per plant showed the best possible results for the growth of iol palm seedlings. Keywords: Nursery, palm oil, larval feces, NPK compound.

Abstract

This study aims to know the effect of combination and the main effect of giving manure and N,P,K fertilizer towards the growth and the production of rice plant and knowing the dosage of manure doses and N,P,K fertilizer on the growth and production of rice in rainfed land. This study was conducted in Binuang Village Bangkinang Sub-district Kampar Regency Riau Province. This study used a randomized block design (RBD) of 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor was 3 levels of manure and the second factor was 4 levels of N, P, K fertilizer. The observation parameters consisted of plant height, maximum number of tillers, number of productive tillers, age out panicle, panicle length, number of grains per panicle, dry grain weight milled per plot andweighs 1,000 grains of grain. The combination of manure and N, P, K fertilizer  at 10 tons.ha-1 manure dosage with a dose of 138 kg N, 54 kgP2O5 , 60 kg K2O showed better results on the parameters ofthe maximum number of tillers, number of productive tillers, number of grain per panicle. The main factors of manure and N, P, K fertilizer showed better results on the parameters of the maximum number of tillers, number of productive tillers, age out panicle, panicle length, number of grain per panicle and dry grain weight milled per plot. Keywords : Rice plant, manure, N, P, K fertilizer, rainfed land

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the influence of giving feces of horned beetle larvae (O. Rhinoceros) towards soil and plants in obtaining exact dose to the growth of Arabica coffee seedling (Coffea Arabica L.). This research  has been conducted in Experimental Station of Agriculture Faculty of Riau University, Campus Bina Widya km 12,5 Simpang Baru Village, Tampan Sub District, Pekanbaru City. This study was conducted from March to July 2017. This study was conducted using a Complete Randomized Design (CRD). The treatment was the feces of horned beetles larvae which consists of six dose levels, such as: K0 : 0 g each plant, K1: 25 g each plant, K2: 50 g each plant, K3: 75 g each plant, K4: 100 g each plant, K5: 125 g each plant. Each treatment was repeated three times to make 18 experimental units. Data obtained from the observations were analyzed using variance analysis (Anova). Diversity results are followed by Duncan multiple range test at 5% level. Observed parameter were seedling height, the increase of stem diameter, the increase of leafs number, leafs area, roots volume, shoot root ratio and seedling dry weight. The results show that feces of horned beetles larvae application can increase the chemical properties of the soil such as N-total, P-total, K-total, C-organic, pH and decrease C/N ratio on subsoil Inceptisol. The application of this fertilizer increases the number of leafs, stem diameter, roots volume, seedling height, leafs area,  and dry weight. Applying 100 g feces of horned beetles larvae have shown good growth for vegetative growth of Arabica coffee seedling on subsoil Inceptisol. Keywords: Arabica coffee seedling, feces of horned beetles larvae, subsoil              Inceptisol

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of giving some doses of NPK fertilizer and get the best dose on the growth of mangrove seedlings (Rhizopora sp.). This research was conducted in Bantan Tengah Village, Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. This research was conducted for 3 months starting from February to April 2015. This experiment was conducted experimentally based on Randomized Complete Design (RAL) with 5 treatments, and 4 replications so that there were       20 experimental units, each experimental unit consisted of 3 seeds. The treatment was  the doses NPK fertilizer that consist :  T0 = Without NPK, T1 = 3 grams NPK, T2 = 6 grams NPK, T3 = 9 grams NPK, T4 = 12 grams NPK. Parameters observed were height of seedlings, number of leaves, root volume, dry weight of seedlings and shootroot ratio. The results showed that the dosage of 12 gram showed its effect on the parameters of plant height increase, number of leaves, root volume, root canopy ratio and dry weight of seedlings. Giving with a dose of 12 grams /10 kg medium is the best dose to increase the growth of mangrove (Rhizopora sp.). Keywords: Mangrove (Rhizopora sp). And NPK fertilizer

Abstract

Sweet corn (Zea mayssaccharata Sturt) is widely used because it has a relatively high nutritional content and sugar content so it tastes sweeter than ordinary corn. Efforts to increase the productivity of sweet corn are proper fertilization. One type of organic fertilizer that can be used is green manure. Green manure comes from plant leaves that are immersed in the soil fresh, one of which can be used as green manure, namely kirinyuh (Chromolaena odorata).This study aims to see the effect of the interaction of green manure kirinyuh and NPK on the growth and production of sweet corn plants and to get the best dose which is carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, Bina Widya Campus KM 12,5 SimpangBaru sub-district, Tampan District, Pekanbaru, lasts for five months, from August to December 2019. The treatments were given first, namely the dose of kirinyuh fertilizer and the second was the provision of NPK fertilizer. From the two factors, 15 combinations wereobtained, each combination was repeated 3 times so that there were 45 experimental plot units. The data obtained were analyzed using variance and followed by Duncan's test at the 5% level. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the administration of kirinyuh 15 ton.ha-1 and75 kg.ha-1 NPK fertilizer is the best treatment in increasing the growth of sweet corn plants. Keywords: Sweet corn, Kirinyuh Fertilizer, NPK Fertilizer

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of interaction of several doses of rice husk charcoal and NPK fertilizer to the growth of cocoa seedlings and to get the best dose of fertilizer from rice husk charcoal for the growth of cocoa seedlings (Theobroma cacao L.) This research has been carried out in the Technical Implementation Unit of the Garden Trial Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau, Bina Widya Road, Simpang Baru Village Tampan District, Pekanbaru City. This study lasted for four months starting from May until August 2016. This research is a 3x3 factorial experiment prepared according to a complete randomized design (RAL). The treatment in this research is: first factor is rice husk charcoal consisting of 3 levels: A0 = Without giving of rice husk charcoal, A1 = 1 kg of rice husk charcoal per polybag and A2 = 2 kg of rice husk charcoal per polybag. The second factor is NPK fertilizer consisting of 3 levels: P0 = No NPK fertilizer, P1 = 15 g NPK fertilizer per polybag and P2 = 30 g NPK fertilizer per polybag. This study consisted of 9 treatment combinations, and repeated 3 times so that there were 27 experimental units. Each experimental unit consists of 3 plants, so the total plant is 81 plants. The data obtained were analyzed statistically by using vocabulary. The variance was then tested further by Duncan's multiple-range test of 5%. The parameters observed were cocoa seed height, stem diameter, leaf number, leaf area, root volume, root canopy ratio and dry weight of plant. The results showed that the interaction of several doses of rice husk charcoal and NPK fertilizer gave no significant effect on stem diameter, leaf number, leaf area, root volume, dry weight and root ratio of cocoa seedlings. The interaction treatment of rice huskcharcoal 2 kg per polybag and NPK dosage 30 g per polybag tends to give effect to the parameters of plant height and stem diameter while the parameter of leaf number does not occur tendency increase.Keywords: Cocoa seeds, rice husk charcoal, NPK fertilizer

Abstract

This study aims to determine the interaction of  vermicompost and urea and get the best treatment to increase the growth of the gaharu seedlings (Aquillaria malaccensis Lamk.). The research was conducted in experimental station of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau, from September to November 2016. This research uses Completely Randomized Design, which consists of two factors and three replications. The first factor was the dosage of vermicompost (K) consisting of 4 level: 0 g/ polybag, 100 g / polybag, 200 g/ polybag, and 300 g/ polybag; And the second factor is the dose of urea fertilizer (U) consisting of 4 levels: 0 g/ polybag, 0.5 g/ polybag, 1 g/ polybag, and 2 g/ polybag. Each experimental unit consists of 2 seedlings so that there are 96 gaharu seedlings. Data were analyzed The observation result of each parameter was statistically analyzed by using vocabulary and tested using DNMRT (Duncan's New Multiple Range Test) at 5% level. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, leaf area, shoots and root ratio, and dry weight. The interaction of kascing 300 g/ polybag and urea dosage 2 g/ polybag gave the best effect to the parameters of gaharu seedlings  height accretion, the accretion of leaf number, the accretion of stem diameter, leaf area and dry weight Keywords: Vermicompost, urea fertilizer, gaharu seedlings

Abstract

This research aims to determine the interactionof chicken manure and oil palm bunch ashand to get the best dose to the cocoa seedlings growth. This research has been carried out in the experimentalstation Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau from June to September 2016. This research used a completely randomized design (CRD) two factors with three replications. The first factor is the chickenmanure with four levels namely 0, 10, 15 and 20 tons/ha. The second factor was the oil palm bunch ash with three levels namely 0, 2 and 3 tons/ha. Parameters observed were plant height, girth trunk, number of leaves, root volume, the weight of dry biomass andshoot and roots ratio. The results showed that the interaction of chicken manure and oil palm bunch ash significantly a effect on plant height and shoot and roots ratio, the best treatment can be obtained by providing a dose of chicken manure 20 tons/ha and oil palm bunch ash dose of 3 tons/ha. Chicken manure gives the best treatment results with dose of 20 tons/ha significantly effect on plant height, number of leaves, root volume, biomass dry weight and shoot and roots ratio. Provision of oil palm bunch ash to the cocoa seedlings affect only the root volume and the best treatment is on oil palm bunch ash dose of 2 tons/ha.Keywords: Chicken minure, Oil palm bunch ash, Cocoa seedlings
