Abstract

The research aimed to determine the response of the pakcoy plant to the combination of the AJKSand NPK fertilizer and to get the best combination of the growth and production of pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) in peat medium. The research has been conducted in Experimental Field of Faculty Agriculture of Riau University from March to April 2017. This research was conducted experimentally with Factorial Completely Randomized Design  which consisting of 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor of dose of AJKS 2, 4, 6    tons/ha, second factor of dose NPK was  200, 250, 300 kg/ha. The data have been statistically analyzed and Tukey's 5%. The results showed that the combination of AJKS and NPK significantly increased leaf area, fresh weight of plants and had no significant effect on plant height, leaf number and consumption fresh weight. Implementation of6 tons/ha AJKS and 300 kg/ha NPK fertilizer is the best dose to increase the growth and production of pakcoy plant.Keyword: Pakcoy, peat, AJKS, NPK fertilizer

Abstract

The research was aimed to determine the use of tofu liquid waste to growth and production of pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) This research has been conducted in the experimental garden of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Jalan Bina Widya, Baru Simpang Village, District Tampan, Pekanbaru. This research was carried out for 2 months from the month of April - Mei 2017. The study was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of one Factor that concentration of tofu liquid waste with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments used are as follows: 0%, 12,5%, 25%, 37,5% and 50%. The parameters observed, plant height, leaf number, leaf area, plant fresh weight and fresh weight of plants suitable for consumption. The results showed that given of some tofu liquid waste influencing pakcoy on all parameters, and given of 25% is the most effective concentrations for the growth and production of pakcoy. Keywords: pakcoy, growth and production, tofu liquid waste

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the response of the growth of oil palm seedlings with various media volume in the main nursery. The research was conducted in the greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The study lasted for 7 months starting in January 2012 until July 2012. The research was carried out experimentally by using completely randomized design consisting of three (3) treatment with 6 (six) replicates that contained 18 experimental units. Each unit consists of 2 seeds. Total whole plant 36 seedlings were planted in 36 polybags. Treatment is the media volume consists of 3 levels ie: V1 = 8 liter/polybag, V2 = 7 liter/polybag, and V3 = 6 liter/polybag. Parameters measured were seedling height, number of leaf midrib, stump diameter, crown root ratio and dry weight of seedlings. The results showed that significantly affects the media volume increase in plant height parameters. But non-significantly to the amount of leaf midrib, plant bulbs diameter, crown ratio and dry weight of seedling roots. Keywords: media volume, oil palm seedlings.

Abstract

The research intent to know ameliorant influence to efficient using of P fertilizers and the best recommanded for growth and production of upland rice (Oryza sativa L.) Situ Bagendit variety on ultisol. Research conducted in UPT area of research farm in faculty of agriculture, Riau University on Bina Widya Campus Km 12,5 sub-district of Simpang Baru, district of Tampan, Pekanbaru from December 2014 until Mei 2015. This research arranged experimentally by using Completely Randomized Design which consist of 9 treatments and then obtained 27 experimental units with 3 sample each unit. Parameter observed rate of P, efficient of P absorption, efficient of production gram of grain rice, ameliorant influence in the efficient to absorp P fertilizer, ameliorant influence in the efficient to product of grain rice, plant height, productive tiller number, panicle length, the percentage of pithy grain, 1000 seed weight, dry of grain weight/family and dry plant of weight. Data were analyzed statistically using ANOVA and followed by HSD at level of 5%. The result showed that giving ameliorant be BFA 12,5 g, green manure of krinyuh 12,5 g and green manure of krinyuh 12,5 g + BFA 12,5 g can give the best result in rate of P, efficient of P absorption, efficient of production gram of grain rice, ameliorant influence in the efficient to absorp P fertilizer, productive tiller number, plant height, dry of grain weight/family and dry plant of weight.   Keywords : ameliorant, P fertilizer, upland rice, ultisol.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the effect of chicken manure and spacing, and to obstain interactionthe best doses of chicken manure and spacing for growth and production of shallots.This research has been carried in Experimental Station Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau from October 2017 to January 2018. This research was conducted in a factorial which was arranged in a complete randomized design consisting of 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor is chicken manure which is without chicken manure, 10 ton.ha-1, 20 ton.ha-1 and 30 ton.ha-1, and the second factor is spacing of 10 cm x 15 cm, 15 cm x 15 cm and 20 cm x 15 cm. The data obtained were further tested by Duncan's Multiple Range Test 5%. The interaction chicken manure and spacing were significant in increasing fresh tuber weight and tuber weight worth keeping and the interaction of chicken manure application and spacing was not significant in increasing plant height, number of leaves per clump, number of tubers per clump and tuber wrap. The giving of chicken manure at a dose of 30 ton.ha-1 and a spacing of 20 cm x 15 cm resulted in a tuber weight worth the highest, namely 1193,80 g.m-2(11,938 ton.ha-1)Keywords: Shallot, chicken manure, plant spacing and soil Inceptisol

Abstract

The rice plant (Oryza sativa L.) is a kind of plant that produce rice which is the become main food for majority of Indonesian people. The total of people that rise increasingly must balance with the increasing of  rice production. One of the methods to get the increasing of rice production is applying the System of Rice Intensification (SRI). This research aims to determine the intraction of seeds number and weeds  frequency control on the growth and production of lowland rice. The experiment sites in lowland field of Balai Benih Induk Holtikultura, Kaharudin Nasution Street, Padang Marpoyan, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. Started on March Until July 2012. Research using Randomized Block Design (RBD) factorial, the first factor consists of 4 threatments (1 seed/hole,2 seeds/hole, 3 seeds/hole, 4 seeds/hole) and the second factor consists of 3 threatments  twice weeding (20, 40 days after planted), three times weeding (20, 30, 40 days after planted) and four times weeding ( 10, 20, 30, 40 days after planted) by  3 repetitions. Data was analyzed by analysis of variance and further test by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%. The research showed that the intraction seeds number and weeds  frequency control were significant to all parameters except in parameter of 1000 seeds weight. The threatment 4 seeds/hole and four times weeding 10, 20, 30, 40 days after planted gave the best effect on growth and production of lowland rice.   Keyword: lowland rice, seeds number, weeds frequency control, SRI.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine suitable nitrogen application time on several soybean varieties. This research was conducted in the agricultural experimental unit, Agriculture Faculty, Riau University. The study was arranged in randomized block design in which three soybean varieties ie, Grobogan, Argomulyo and Kaba were grown and fertilized with four application methods. The methods of application were no N fertilizer as control, 25 kg N applied atplanting date, 25 kg N applied at 35 days after planting, and 25 kg N applied atplanting  followed 25 kg N at 35 days after planting. Every tretment combination was repeated three times. Traits measured were plant height, number of main branches, plant biomass at 28 and 35 days after planting, crop groth rate, leaf area index, flowering date, harvesting date, number of filled pods, seed weight per plant, grain yield per m2, and harvest index. The data were then analysed by analyses of variance followed by least  significant difference at 5%.  There were differences among varieties on all characters observed except for plant biomass at 28 days after planting and harvest index. Application of N fertilizer with a rate of 25 kg per ha at planting and followed by the same rate at 35 days after planting in all varieties resulted faster flowering date, earlier harvest date, more filled pods, greater seed weight per plant and higher grain yield compare to other application time.Keywords : time of nitrogen fertilizer, plant growth rate, yield components

Abstract

Pakchoy plants is one kind of vegetables that have commercial value and contains nutrients that are essential to the human body so favored by many people. Research is aimed to know the influence compost palm oil frond with decomposer which gives growth and yield good pakchoy held in greenhouse the Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau for three months that is October until December 2011. The draft used are thoughts of random complete which consists of three and six deut treatment which D1 (Mikroorganism local), D2 (Trichoderma sp) dan D3 (EM-4). Based on the research has been done suggest that composting of palm frond with some decomposers in plants pakchoy results were not significantly different with plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, fresh weigt and root volume. Of this research, the plant pakchoy treated EM-4 decomposers tends to give a higher yield.   Keywords: Compost, Decomposer and Pakchoy

Abstract

This research aims to know the right dose about effect interaction between compost (male flowers) and NPK fertilizer for the growth of palm oil nursery in main nursery. This research was conducted in September to January 2018. The research method used is complete randomized design (RAL) with two factors, fisrt factor are compost which have four taraf such dose 60 g/polybag, 120 g/polybag, 180 g/polybag, 240 g/polybag and second factor NPK fertilizer with two taraf such as 5 g/plant and 10 g/plant. This study aims to improve plant growth, number of leaves, diameter of the cork, volume akar, rasio tajuk akar and berat kering bibit. Result of this study showed that application between compost and NPK fertilizer showed significanly effect  to plant growth but didn’t effect to number of leaves, diameter of the cork, root volume, root canopy ratio, dry weight. Application of 240 g/polybag compost and 10g/plant NPK fertilizer showed higher means from ecah parameter. Keywords : oil palm, male flowers, fertilizer NPK

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the response of the growth of oil palm seedlings and how much kalium can absorb by oil palm seedlings on different organic fertilizersources with some planting medium. This research has done in experimental plantation Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau from October until February 2013. This research used completely randomized design non factorial  with the combination of some organic fertilizer and some medium as the treatment. The organic fertilizer include: bird’s manure, sludge fertilizer, liquid organic fertilizer and without fertilizer as control. Some medium include: PMK soil, peat soil and mix of PMK and peat soil 1:1. The result showed that the best treatment was the combination of residue effect of liquid organic fertilizer in PMK and Peat soil medium because its can be inclined grow up fresh seedling weight, seedling dry weight, the quality of seedling’s indexand the absorb of kalium.
