This study aimed to determine: (1) farmers' perceptions of the role of agricultural extension in rural agribusiness development (PUAP), (2) perception PUAP development; 57 respondents from Gapoktan Manunggal Jaya been interviewed, which is taken by proportionate random sampling. The results showed that: (1) farmers perceive extension function well in mentoring PUAP this can be seen from a score of 2.53 with the category of done, which consists of a role as an educator; education, the dissemination of information / innovation, as a companion, as a consultant, as coaching, as observers, and evaluation, (2) according to farmers PUAP program in the period 2008- 2011 have a good development. It can be seen from the scores by category done 2.87. Output indicator shows the prevalence PUAP funds received by farmers to undertake farming while outcome indicators show that the existence of the program PUAP farmers really feel the change in earnings, and also lead to greater success PUAP agribusiness activities in rural areas. This studyaims to analyze the internal and external environment and accomplish the competitive strategy for agro-industry entrepreneurs of SGN soybean milk powder. A'WOT analysis which combines AHP and SWOT was used Expert Choice 2000 Software. The results of this research thatindicated the priority strategy for the agro-industry development of SGN soybean milk powder are (1) Product development (2) Optimizing available resources, (3) Efficiency with reducing production cost, (4) Improving the quality of human resources through training regularly, (5) Maintaining the quality and image of the product, (6) Utilizing the KUR program from the Government and (7) Coordinate with relevant parties to inhibit the entry of newcomers. The objectives of the research are: (1) to determine the role of agricultural extension upon independent small holder farmers of palm oil, (2) to figure out the empowerment level the farmers, and (3) to analyze the influence of the extension’s role upon the farmers’ empowerment. The research was carried out in sub district of Bonai Darussalam Rokan Hulu district. 45 farmers were selected by using purposive sampling method and were interviewed as the respondents as well. Validity and reliability analysis have been done upon questionnaire. To answer the objective 1 and 2, analysis of Likert Scale Summated Rating (SLR) was utilized and in order to answer the objective 3, multiple regression analysis was used. The results shows: (1) The role of extension has shown quite significant role in the activities of the farmers, which consist of the role of extension as education, the dissemination of information/innovation, facilitation, consultation, supervision, monitoring and evaluation; (2) the empowerment level of the farmers is well enough consisting of a non-human resource, productive economy, and institutional; (3) the role of extension that has significant influence upon the farmers empowerment is the role extension as evaluation, meanwhile the role of extension as a education, dissemination, facilitation, consultation, and supervision have no significant influence. This study aims to determine the level of farmer group dynamics and determine the strategy that is done in a dynamic farmer groups. Sampling was done intentionally, in which 36 people used as respondents from the three groups of farmers in the village of Air Terbit. The results of this study indicate that the rate is determined based on the analysis of the dynamics farmer groups SLR in the village of Air Terbit have moderate criteria with a score of 1.93, it can be seen from the moderate or lack of effort in growing group activities, participation, effectiveness of group responsibility, norms, and sanctions on the group, resulting in a lack of development and building of farmer groups and SWOT analysis determined based strategy in the dynamic group that is an increase of information through a group that supports the promotion of enterprise inputs, farmer group achievement awards, good administration and the right, facilitating the group in order to carry out the functions and good job, get coaching and become better maintenance group, have a strong cohesiveness, conducive atmosphere, adequate pressure, the effectiveness of both groups and improve the existing human resource education through regular training in farmer groups. The purposes this is to knowimplemantation of agribusiness systems dragonfruit developmentand design appropriate development strategies for its enterpreneurs bengkalis island. Analytical methods used in the study is descriptive and SWOT analysis. Results revealed that there were three subsystems that goed well: 1. Subsystem input supply, 2. Subsystem marketing, 3. Subsystem supply. The strategy for development by entrepreneur are: (i). Increase the total area of dragonfruit plants which aims to meet the needs of consumers and the market. (ii). Support joint development of dragonfruit by the district bengkalis. (iii). Participating role in the training of professionals in government or agribusiness development dragonfruit. (iv). The purpose of this researchare : (1) to determine the organizing of extension oil palm plantation in Sari Galuh Village Tapung Sub-District of Kampar. (2) to determineThe Nucleus Estate Smallholder (NES) farmers perceptions about the importance the role of extension on oil palm plantations. Research method was survey, while 48 farmers were itnterviewed as respondent, in term of analysis, Scale Likert's Summated Rating (SLR) was used to answer the objective of this research. The resultshowed that organizing of extension has been running well according the element of extension.The NES farmers perceive that the role of extension is quite important to be implemented, it can be seen from : (1)Facility process study atquite important category; (2)Amenity access atquite important category; (3)Ability of leadership atquite important category;(4)Developing organizational atquite important category;(5)Analysing and solving problem at important category;(6) Developing awareness at important category;(7)Institutionalizing cultural values atquite important category;(8)Supervision or construction at quite important category;(9)Evaluation atquite important category. The purposes of this research are: (1) To identify the role of extension toward independent smallholder farmers of oil palm; (2) To know the empowerment level of the farmers; (3) To analysis the relation between extension’s role on empowerment the farmers. This research was conducted at keritang hulu Village Sub-district Kemuning and Sencalang Village Sub-district Keritang Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir. Samples were determined by purposive sampling methods with consideration that the location has active extension activities and has farmers group. 60 independent smallholder farmers of oil palm were taken as respondent. Validity and reliability analysis has been done on the measuring instruments. Data’s analysis to acknowledge the first and second research purpose used Scale Likert’s summated Rating (SLR), whereas multiple linear regression used to acknowledge the third purpose of this research. The Result showed that: (1) The extension role is categorized enough, that are consisted of education, facilitation, supervision, monitoring and evaluation is categorized enough, while on, information dissemination, and consultation is categorized have a role; (2) The empowerment level is categorized well, that are institutional and productive economy is categorized well, while on consisted of human resources is well enough; (3) Empowerment of independent small holder farmers affected significantly by the role of extension in facilitation and monitoring and evaluation, however the role of extension does not significantly affect on education dissemination consultation and supervision of the farmers empowerments. This study aims to determine the level of community’s participation in implementing the Community’s Garden Seeds Development Program (KBR) in Sub District of Bangkinang, Kampar District, and the relationship between the factors that influence its participation. Descriptive study with a quantitative approach was used as research’s method, while 30 famers were interviewed as repondens. In term of analyzing, Summated Likert Scale Rating (SLR) was used to analyze the first objective and Rank Spearman’s Correlation to analyze the second objective. The result showed that: (1) The level of community’s participation in implementing the KBR in District Bangkinang Kampar district is high; (2) Variables of age, education, experience, fitness programs, official attention and benefits related programs affect community’s participation in KBR. This research aims to determine intrinsic and extrinsic motivation of farmers to join farmer’s groups in Pagaran Tapah Village Pagaran Subdistrict of Tapah Darussalam District of Rokan Hulu. 62 independent smallholder farmers, who are members of farmer groups, were interviewed as respondents. They were choosen by disproposional random sampling. Data were analyzed by descriptive method, using a Summated Likert Scala Rating (SLR). The result showed that: (1) Intrinsic motivation of farmers is high, it can be seen from the score at enough category (3.29) and extrinsic motivation of farmers is also high, it can be seen from the socre at high category (3.40).
