Abstract

The successful of pineapple based agro-industry business is influenced by the perception and the group dynamics of the agro-industry enterprises. This study aimed to determine the perceptions and dynamics of craftsmen group and also to determine pineapple based agro-industry business development for individual and group in Kualu Nenas Village Tambang District of Kampar Regency Riau Province. This research was conducted on October 2012 to September 2013 by using saturated sampling (census) and a sample of 11 pineapple chips of craftsmen.The results showed that the craftsman perception of effort is good enough, with a score of 3.39. Group dynamism as measured from 9 variables with a score of 2.27 which states that the craftsmen group are not dynamic. Development of pineapple based agro-industry business when viewed from an individual business is pretty good enough with a score of 3.02. On the other hand, when viewed as a group of businesses, such efforts have not been further developed as indicated by a score of 1.80.   Keywords: Perception, dynamics of group, agro-industry, pineapple

Abstract

The purpose of this research was (1) the characteristic of KKPA member toward cooperative unit village (KUD) Sumber Rezeki, (2) the participation of KKPA  member toward KUD, (3) the relationship of characteristic and participation of KKPA member toward cooperative unit village (KUD) in Buluh Rampai Seberida district of Indragiri Hulu regency. The method used was survey method where the population of this research was the members of cooperative at Buluh Rampai the total of KKPA member 597 which classified into 32 groups. The technique of collecting data used simple random sampling system which taken one of 32 respondents with criteria included the member of KKPA . The result of this research was the significant relationship of characteristic and participation of KKPA member toward the cooperative unit village (KUD) in Buluh Rampai Seberida district of Indragiri Hulu regency.   Keyword : characterstic, participation, significant, unit coperatives village, KKPA

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify of the social capital, and progam implementation problems that faced KWT members in M-KRPL program in Tualang village. The survey method was used in the study, while Simple Random Sampling was also used as the sampling technique. The number of respondents were 28 samples. The samples was taken of the KWT Cendana Wangi members who followed M-KRPL program in Tualang village. The analysis of social capitaland problem KWT members that faced in the program implementation of this study was descriptive method. The analysis social capital members used questionnaire, Scale of Liker’s Summated Rating (LSR) was used. The result showed the analysis of social capital KWT members was categorized as ”high level” with the score 3,82. Social capital that high on KWT Cendana Wangi members be supported the high score existing on the social capital elements namely, participation in the social networks, reciprocal, trust, and adherence to norms, values and proactive measures. The problems that faced KWT members in the program implementation of the M-KRPL program namely, problems of production facilities, water issues, and disclosure issues. Abstract

This research aims: analyze social capital in community development programs and to know the context of social capital in community development programs. This research uses a purposive sampling method with respondents consisting of 24 members of SPP PNPM Sungai Pinang. Data collection method in this research is primary data and secondary data. To determine the social capital in this research using a quantitative method using a questionnaire in the form of Likert Scale.  From the research data showed that social capital in community development The results show that social capital in community development programs PNPM Mandiri is high with an average score 3.41 views from participation in networks, reciprocity, trust, social norms, values​​, and proactive action.Problems of social capital in community development programs is reciprocity, social norms, and actions that are proactive members. This is because most of the members of the SPP is still breaking the rules and less participate in group activities. Keywords: Community Empowerment Program, Social Capital

Abstract

The purposes of this research are: To determine the role of extension on independent smallholder farmers of oil palm in subdistrict Langgam. To determine the empowerment level of the farmers in in subdistrict Langgam. To analize the achievement of destination extension seen from better farming, better business, and better living. To analyze effect the role of extension toward empowerment and empowerment influence to the reaching of destination extension in subdistrict Langgam. The research was conducted in Langgam subdistrict of Pelalawan. Samples were determined by purposive sampling methods with consideration that the location has active extension activities and has farmers group. 120independent smallholder farmers of oil palm were taken as respondent. Data were analyzed with descriptive analysis, Likert Scale's Summated Rating (SLR), and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The results showed: (1) The role of extension which consisting of a variable education, dissemination, facilitation, consultation, supervision, monitoring and evaluation as a whole are in the unfavorable category; (2) The level ofempowerment offarmers which consistingofvariablehuman resources, productiveeconomy, andinstitutionsas a whole isin the unfavorable category; (3) the purposeof role of extension which consisting of variable better farming, better bussines, and better overall living categorized good enough; (4) The relationship between the role of extension toward empowerment was shown with the value (4.247) and the relationship of empowerment toward the purpose of extension with the value (3.341). This proves that the role of extension significant effect on empowerment, as well as the purpose of extension.   Keywords: Role of extension, empowerments, independent smallholder farmers

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the degree participant of members Milik Bersama cooperation in Bukit Lingkar, Batang Cenaku in indragiri hulu regency. This research used survey method. The total of sample this research was 42 people who gain by using formula slovin. This research was using random sampling. The sample found randomly from 889 members Milik Bersama cooperation. The collecting data of this research was using primary data and secondary data. To analyze the degree and the problems at participation of this research was using descriptive method. To obtain the degree of participation of getting result at meeting, implementation of participant in cooperation activities, participant to gain the function of service, and evaluation of programs cooperation. The degree of members participation measured by using quesioner of Likert Scale. The degree participant  of members Milik Bersama cooperation in Bukit Lingkar, Batang Cenaku, Indragiri Hulu Regency was high with score 3,64. High of the degree participant on members Milik Bersama Cooperation support by high participant members on meeting, implementation, service, also evaluation programs of cooperation. In another side, the programs Milik Bersama Cooperation in Bukit Lingkar, Batang Cenaku, Indragiri Hulu Regency had some problems that related by the degree of participant were pasif on cooperation activities, attendance, lack gave ideas on meeting, less armada dum truck, and participant on activity and evaluation of programs Milik Bersama Cooperation.   Key Words: The Degree of Participant, Cooperation, KUD Milik Bersama.

Abstract

The purpose of this research are: (1) To identify the role of extension on independent small holder farmers of oilpalm; (2) To know empowerment level of the farmers; (3) To analyze the purpose of extension; (4) To analyze influence the role of extension toward empowerment and influence empowerment toward the extensionpurposes. This research was conducted at Harapan BaruVillage and Sebangar Village in Mandau Sub District Bengkalis District. Research’s respondent was determined by purposive sampling methods with number of respondent were 125. The consideration to choose the location is the location that has active extension activities and has farmer group. Validity, reliability, outliers, normality and multicolinearity analysis has been done on the measuring instruments. To answer the first, second, and third purpose of this research using likert’s scale summated rating (SLR). To answer the fourth research purpose was using structural equation modeling (SEM) with the AMOS program version 21. The result shows (1) Therole of extension on independent small holder farmer of oil palm activity in Mandau Sub District is categorized enough. (2)The empowerment of independent small holder farmers of oil palm in Mandau Sub District is categorized enough. (3) The purpose of extension has worked in Mandau Sub District is categorized reach. Abstract

The purposes of this research are to analysis outpouring time of women farm workers in family and factor-factor that affect to working hours. Analysis contribution income of women farm workers toward family’s income. The research used a survey method with sampling technique is purposive sampling. The sample of this research are 37 samples. Analysis of the data using ORDINARY LIEST SQUARE (OLS). The results showed that the average working hours of women farm workers in economic activity is 4,94 HKP/day, with the persentage is 53,00%, and in non economic activity is 4,38 HKP/day, with persentage is 47,00%. The dominant factors that affect working hours is amount of children. Contribution income of woman farm workers in rubber plantation toward family’s income is 33,8%.   Keywords: Rubber Plantation, outpouring of time, Family’s Income

Abstract

Agricultural development with a focus on the development of processing industries base on agriculture products to in order accommodate raw materials of agriculture products and could absorb labor .This study aims to determine how internal and external factor agro-industry entrepreneurs, knowing how entrepreneurial behavior and performance of agro-industry enterprises. The location of this research in the city of Pekanbaru.The collection of data in this study using the method of survey.the sample in this research totaled 140 respondents. The data were analyzed using descriptive method. Data analysis result obtained from that internal factors of industrial entrepreneurs quite well with a value score of 3,14. External factors the businessman less good agro-indutries with a value score of 2,57. Entrepreneurial behavior of employers of agro-industries with a value of 3,88. The performance of venture entrepreneur agro-industries quite well with a value score of 3,07. Internal and external factors of agro-industries entrepreneurs can be enhanced by providing support to entrepreneurs in agro-industries such as providing counseling and training assistance-help needed by entrepreneurs in agro-industries and so created a better entrepreneurial behavior.
