Abstract

Palm oil ( elaeis guineensis jacq ) is a important plantations that are supporting Indonesian economy. To get a good seed of coconut palm we should watch the time and volume of water supply, because this is more effective. This research aims is to get a good combination treatment of time and water volume towards palm oil seed growth on main nursery and implemented in green house of UPT field, at Agriculture Faculties, University of Riau. this experiment using completly randomized design ( CRD ) factorially. Consisting of 2 factors: factors I is the time ( W) which is: W1 = 7.30 am, W2 = 2 pm, W3 = 17 pm and factors II were the water volume (A): A1 = 1,0 liters/polybag/day, A2 = 1,5 liters/polybag/day , A3 = 2,0 liters/polybag/day , with 3 repetition and every unit consisting by 27 experiment unit. each unit consisting 2 seeds and total population is 54 seed. Parameter that observed is the addition of plant high, the addition of leaves , the addition of excrescence diameter and leaf wide. The result showed the best combination time is 7.30 am with water volume 2,0 liters/polybag/day towards the parameter of plant high and leaf ammount. The treatment of 2 pm with the water volume 1.5 liters/polybag/day significantly showed on the parameter of leaf wide.   Keyword : palm oil, time of water supply, water volume

Abstract

The research about Test Of Some Azolla pinnata Liquid Fertilizer Concentration On The Growth Of Oil Palm Seeds (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) In Pre Nursery has been done in the experimental garden of Agriculture’s Faculty, University of Riau. This study aimed to determine the effect of Azolla pinnata liquid fertilizer and get the best concentration for the growth of oil palm seeds in the pre nursery. This Research was caried out experiments using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), which consists of 5 treatments and 4 replications, the treatments were A1: Azolla liquid fertilizer concentration 50 g/l, A2: Azolla liquid fertilizer concentration 75 g/l, A3: Azolla liquid fertilizer concentration 100 g/l, A4: Azolla liquid fertilizer concentration 125 g/l, A5: Azolla liquid fertilizer concentration of 150 g/l. The results show the Azolla liquid  fertilizer significantly effected on plant height, number of leave, stem diameter  and dry weight of plant, but not significantly effected root crown ratio. Azolla liquid fertilizer application at a concentration of 100 g/l and 125 g/l gives the best result and increasing the growth of oil palm seeds in pre nursery.   Keywords: Azolla liquid fertilizer, oil palm, pre nursery

Abstract

In rice cultivation in tidal land are inundated land constraints. Under conditions of stagnant nutrient zinc is not available and the seedlings will experience stress submerged. This research aimed to evaluate the response of paddy ups and downs against the granting of multiple doses of zinc and setting planting schedule. The experiment was conducted in Teluk Sungkai, Kuala Cenaku in September 2014 - January 2015. The experiment was arranged in completely randomized factorial design with two factors and three replications. The first factor is the dose of zinc: 30 kg ZnSO4/ha, 40 kg ZnSO4/ha, and 50 kg ZnSO4/ha. The second factor is planting schedule: 5 days after the large tidal, 10 days after the large tidal, and 15 days after the large tidal. Based on this research the best dosage of zinc is 40 kg ZnSO4/ha and schedule 15 days after the large tidal better than the other planting schedule for paddy’s growth and production.   Keywords: rice, zinc, land tidal

Abstract

Tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill) is one type of vegetable has long been recognized by the community. The tomato plants have many benefits in an effort to complement the needs of nutritious food, especially as a source of vitamins and minerals, can also be used for drugs. The low productivity of tomatoes one caused by a lack of knowledge of farmers in the use of high yielding varieties. One effort to increase productivity is the use of tomato varieties with good genetic properties such as harvesting, disease resistance, and growth and production tend to be better. In addition to the availability of nutrients, other factors that affect plant growth is the requirement of water for plants, because water is the most material constituent of plant tissues. This irrigation method is possible to apply mainly on land far from water sources or land that has limited water availability. The drip irrigation system can save water consumption, minimize water losses. The purpose of this study, to obtain varieties of tomato growth response and better production with the provision of drip irrigation, and to determine the exact volume of water in enhancing the growth and production of tomato plants.This research will be carried out experimentally by using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors. The first factor consists of 3 varieties of tomatoes levels ie: V1: Ratna, V2: Mawar, V3: Karina, and the second  factor consisted of 3 volumes of water treatment, namely A1: 100% (field capacity), A2: 75 % (75% of field capacity), A3: 50% (50% of field capacity). The results showed that the overall volume of water had no effect on the growth and production of tomato plants, but the effect on the appearance of flower varieties first. Tomato plants are the fastest flowering varieties Karina with 75% volume of water provision. Keywords: Drip irrigation, field capacity, tomatoes.

Abstract

Pakchoy plants (Brassica chinensis L. ) is a plant that much in demand by the public because of high nutritional content. The limited agricultural land currently caused pakchoy cultivation declined, one of the ways that can be used to overcome this problem is to utilize the limited land by verticulture manner. Nutrients and water is a very important factor for plant growth of pakchoy, thus providing a variety of growing media and the provision of water can improve plant growth and production. Research has been conducted on the home screen Technical Services Unit Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau from September to November 2014. The research conducted experimentally using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consist 2 factors: embedding medium and the volume of water. The first factor is the growing medium consisting of three types of medium, M1=inceptisol soil, M2= 75% Inceptisol  and 25% cocopeat, M3= 75% inceptisol and 25% ash sawdust and the second factor consists of 3 volumes of water that V1=100 ml/day, V2=200 ml/day, V3= 300 ml/day. Parameters measured were plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, fresh weight, weight suitable for consumption and root volume. The results showed that the volume of water with planting medium ash sawdust effect on growth and yield of pakchoy. Provision of water volume of 200 ml and the embedding medium ash sawdust with vertikultur system gives the best effect on plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, plant fresh weight, fresh weight of plants suitable for consumption, and root volume.   Keyword: pakchoy, medium, water volume, verticulture

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to determine the effect of compost mixture of palm oil empty fruit bunches with boiler ash and nitrogen fertilizer on some yield components and protein content of rice. Research was conducted from Desember 2012 to March 2013 and located at PulauRambai Village Kampar Timur District, Kampar Regency. Research Methode used completely randomized design experiment consisting of two factors, the first factor is the aplicationcompost and boiler ash which consists of 4 levels that are (not compost and boiler ash, 5 ton compost + 500 kg/ha boiler ash, 5 ton compost + 750 kg/ha boiler ash, and 5 ton compost + 1000 kg/ha boiler ash). The second factor is the aplication of nitrogen fertilizer which in consisted by 2 levels that are (100 kg N/ha and 200 kg N/ha). In a research obtained 8 combinations repeated 3 time. Research result indicate that the aplication of 5 tons of compost have mixed 1000 kg/ha boiler ash and its follow application fertilizer 200 kg N/ha can increase plant height, plant number of grains, pithy grains percentage, and protein content of rice. Abstract

Kampar District is one ofriceproduction centres in Riau, so it is important to develop SRI (System of RiceIntensiOcation) method. To apply this method, we should know therightdbunce for thericeto be plantedbecause the farmers stfll use pbinting disUnce of25 x 25 on. The research used Randomized Block design,with four treatments and three repltcattoas. The treatment is the planting distance as ibUow: 25 1 25 cm (SI),30 X 30 cm (S2), 35135 cm (S3) and 40 x 40 cm (S4). The result of analysis was tested by Duncan's NewMultiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level. The research result showed that by SRI method, thericepiantgrow and produce very well with planting distance of 40 K 40 cm and the production of dry unpolished grainis 6^8 kg per plot.

Abstract

Jarak pagar (Jatropha curcas L.) is one of biodiesel resources with high oil content of 35 to 45%. It can grow up in vegetative and generative way. Growth of this plant could be enhanced by giving natural Plant Growth Regulator (PGR) such as cow’s urine which is easy to take, easy to apply, and cheaper than other materials. PGR will be useful for plant if given in low concentration, but in high concentration it will damage the plant. This research aimed to know influence of interaction of storage period and urine concentration to the plant’s growth. It used randomized factorial block experiment with two factors and three replications. The two factors were: (1) storage time of urine (8, 12, and 16 days), and (2) cow’s urine concentration of 25, 50, 75, and 100%.Key Word : cow's urine, jarak pagar, Jatropa cuircas
