Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research was to got of arabica coffee seedling growth better which although it is planted on peat medium by shading and Nitrogen fertilizer. This research was carried out at the experimental station, Faculty of Agriculture Riau University on Bina Widya Campus, Simpang Baru Sub-districs, Tampan Districs, Pekanbaru from October 2015 to Januari 2016. This research was done experimentally utilized split plot design based on completely randomized design. The main plot was shading. Which are: without shading, 25% shading, 50% shading and 75% shading. Sub-plot was Nitrogen Fertilization, were: without nitrogen, 9,8 g N/plant (200 kgN/ha) and 19,6 g N/plant (400 kgN/ha). Parameter observed are seedling height, number of leafs, diameter of stalk, root volume, dry weight seedling, leafs and root ratio, the leaf width. The results showed that shading could increase number of leafs, seedling dry weight and the leaf width. Nitrogen fertilizeron peat medium has showed negative effect on seedling height, the number of leaf, diameter of stalk, root volume and seedling dry weight of Arabica coffee seedling.   Keywords: arabica coffea seedling growth, peat medium, shading, nitrogen fertilizer

Abstract

This research aims to increase the production of upland red rice plants with organic fertilizer of bokashi and ferinsa.This research was conducted at the experimental farm of the Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau started in May to August 2015. The experiment using a completely randomized design 7 treatments and 3 replications and. The treatments in this research are b0 = without fertilizer, b1 =60 g Bokashi and 10% ferinsa, b2 = 60 g Bokashi and 20% Ferinsa, b3 = 60 g Bokashi and 30% Ferinsa, b4 = 120 g Bokashi and 10% Ferinsa, b5 = 120 g Bokashi and 20% Ferinsa (%), b6 = 120 g Bokashi and 30% Ferinsa. Parameters observed are hight of plant, the maximum number of tillers, the number of productive tillers, the appearance ofpanicle, panicle length, number of grain per panicle, percentage of of grain pithy and dry weight of grain. The results of observation data were further analyze by Duncan new multiple range test at 5%level.The results showed thatthe composition of bokashi and ferinsa gave  effect on hight of plant, the maximum number of tillers, the number of productive tillers, the appearance of panicle, panicle length, number of grain per panicle, percentage of grain pithy and dry weight of grain. Bokashi fertilizer composition 120 g and ferinsa 30 % is the best treatment to increase the production of upland red rice plants compared to other treatment.   Keywords : Bokashi fertilizer, ferinsa,  red rice plants.

Abstract

Seedling is a plant material which is very important in the development    of the palm oil industry. Quality of seedlings will determine the success of oil palm cultivation. The uncertain climate change caused many oil palm nursery are flooding. This stage of hypoxia or anoxia caused plant growth stress.          Therefore has been tested multiple giberelin concentrations and flooding against oil palm seedlings on pre nurseries. This research aims to maintaining quality      of oil palm seedlings of waterlogging stress by providing some gibberellin concentration. This research was conducted at the experiment station                    of Agriculture Faculty University of Riau, Pekanbaru from June to September 2015. The experiment using the completely randomized factorial design 3 x 3 and 3 replications. The first factor are g0 = without gibberellin, g1 = 150 ppm gibberellin and g2 = 300 ppm gibberellin, and the second factor is duration              of waterlogging stress. There are w0 = 0 days, w1 = 25 days and w2 = 50 days.   The results is no interaction of gibberellin concentration and flooding stress to oil palm seedling. The higher concentration of gibberellin given caused higher seedlings, and the growth of diameter rod and adventitious roots was affected       by flooding. Abstract

This study aims to get palm oil seedlings goodness although the seedlings in difference level of waterlogging. The experiment has been conducted in the greenhouse Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, Pekanbaru from December 2015 to March 2016. This study used a completely randomized factorial design consisting of two factors and three replications. The first factor was the concentration of liquid fertilizer(LF) consists of 3 levels p0: No LF, p1: LF 9,000 ppm, and p2: LF 18,000 ppm and the second factor wasthe difference level of waterlogging, consists of 3 levels t0: No waterlogging, t1: Waterlogging to 3cm below of growing point level, t2: Waterlogging 3 cm above of growing point level. The parameters measured were:seedling height, stem diameter, number of leaves, seedling dry weight, shoot root ratio. The mean separation of the tested by Duncan’s new multiple range test  at 5% level. The result showed that no effect of interaction between the difference level of waterlogging and concentration of LF on seedling growth component Tenera palm oil seedling. The waterlogging 3 cm above of growing point level tends to inhibit the growth of seedling i.e. height, dry weight of roots and shoot root ratio of palm oil seedlings. Liquid fertilizer complementary positive effect on the dry weight of oil palm seedlings were experiencing on waterlogging to 3cm below of growing point level, but a negative effect on palm oil seedlings in waterlogging 3 cm above of growing point level.  Keywords: palm oil, waterlogging level, liquid fertilizer
