Abstract

The research method used is a quasi-experimental method which consists of experimental class and class II controlkelas SDN 79 Pekanbaru, which illustrates a significant difference in the ability to calistung between the two. Research on the data pretest seen from arithmetic average of the experimental 70.66 and control 65.9, experimental writing skills 77, and controls 71.6, experimental ability to read 76, and controls 77.5. To find significant differences in the ability of the chi square analysis was used to calculate the ability Xhitung <Xtabel (1.67 <3.841), there was no significant difference, the ability to write with Xhitung <Xtabel (0.6 <3.841), there was no significant difference on writing skills, and the ability to read with Xhitung <Xtabel (1.12 <3.841), there was no significant difference in reading ability. Posttest data seen from the average value of the experimental class numeracy 75.6 and 71.7 control, the ability to write an experimental class 81.9 and control 74.6, literacy class experimental 82.1 and control 78.5. To determine differences in the ability to use the chi square analysis on numeracy Xhitung <Xtabel (3.51 <3.841), there was no significant difference in the experimental class and the control class numeracy skills. The ability to write with Xhitung <Xtabel (3.51 <3.841), there was no significant difference, while the ability to read Xhitung <Xtabel (0.71 <3.841), there was no significant difference. Improved results in the experimental class capabilities calistung numeracy skills of 0.15, and control 0.16, the ability to write of 0.26, and control 0.11, the ability to read the experimental class of 0.31, and controls 0.07, it is seen larger in capacity building calistung the experimental class.Key words: calistung, scientific thematics, numeracy skills, reading skills, and writing skills

Abstract

Research constitutes research by use of quantitative with arranges instrument to essay as collector of ability data reads comprehension. Total sample on observational 175 consisting of person three PGSD FKIP UR college student generation, one that is seen on ability reads generation grasp 2014 by average 67,66, generation 2013 by average ability read 64,39, and ability reads generation 2014 by average 72,69. Seen from tall category 2 person with percentage 1,14%, enough category by totals 124 by percentages 70,86%, and low category 49 person with percentage 28% afterses at accounts statistic's ala therefore available distinctive signifikan's ones ability reads PGSD FKIP UR college student grasp. To clearer again therefore will work through perindikator that builds to read grasp, one that will beforehand word on intrinsik's elemental indicator is seen on a par ability reads for generation 2014 by average 71,03, generation 2013 as big as 67,42, and for generation 2014 as big as 77,63. To see ability category read grasp on intrinsik's elemental indicator that get tall category with percentage 13,71% by total 24 college students, enough category with percentage 72% by total 126 college students, and low category with percentage 14,28% by total 25 college students, to see the difference therefore at quiz utilizes Chi square therefore available difference which signifikan among ability reads PGSD FKIP UR college student grasp on intrinsik's elemental indicator. Abstract

Abstract: This research is motivated by the problem of the lack of students’ abilityof reading at the beginning, so it is necessary to apply SAS method in order to assiststudents in learning to get successful to read at the beginning. The purpose of this studyis to describe the effect of SAS method to students’ ability to read at the beginning in theexperimental class and to describe the differences about impoving students’ readingability at the begining that significant between students who acquire learning throughthe SAS method and students who received conventional learning. This study is a quasiexperimentalresearch with the research subjects are students of first grade at class IA,SD Negeri 79 Pekanbaru, this class contain of 28 students as control class and class IBof 28 students as the experimental class. The results state that in the pretest scores afteranalyzed by t meet the criteria tcount<ttable that is 0.001 <2.007, which means there is nodifference that significant and the first ability of students in the control and experimentclass are same. While on the posttest score after analyzed by t 'meet the criteria t'count>t’table that is 2.480> 2.007, which means that there are significant differences in thepost-test scores between the experimental class and control class. Based on thecoefficient of determination in the experimental class found great determinationcoefficient was 0.870, it means SAS method very influence on students' ability to read atthe beginning of the experimental class. Based on the index gain, improved readingability of students at the beginning of the experimental class has an average of 0.566with the medium category, and the control class 0.220 with low category, it means thatthere are differences of increased the ability to read at the beginning that significantbetween experimental class and control class.KeyWords: SAS method, the ability of reading at the beginning.
