Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan permainan ludo kimia berbasis pada materi asam dan basa yang sudah ada kedalam bentuk android sebagai media pembelajaran di kelas XI SMA/MA, menentukan validitas dan praktikalitas ludo kimia berbasis android sebagai media pembelajaran pada materi asam dan basa kelas XI SMA/MA. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Educational Design Research dengan model Plomp yang terdiri dari 3  tahap, yaitu tahap preliminary research, prototyping stage, assessment phase. Penelitian ini dibatasi sampai tahap prototyping stage yaitu tahap (small group). Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah angket validitas dan angket praktikalitas. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu penyebaran angket kemudian dianalisis menggunakan Aiken’s V untuk validitas dan rumuas persentase untuk praktikalitas. Hasil analisis data diperoleh bahwa permainan ludo kimia berbasis android sebagai media pembelajaran pada materi asam dan basa memiliki validitas dari segi konstruk, konten dan media yang valid serta telah praktis dari segi kemudahan penggunaan, efisiensi waktu pembelajaran dan kebermanfaatan suatu media. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa permainan ludo kimia berbasis android yang dikembangkan sudah valid dan praktis sebagai media pembelajaran pada materi asam dan basa kelas XI SMA/MA.

Abstract

This study focuses on the development of a POGIL-based experiment manual for general chemistry courses to enhance students' science process skills. The research and development (R&D) method, utilizing the Plomp model, was employed to create a valid and practical manual. Data were collected through a validity and practicality questionnaire, which was then analyzed using the Kappa Cohen's method. The manual's content was found to be highly valid, with an average score of 0.82, while its graphics had an average score of 0.84, also falling within the high category. Practicality was assessed through small group student testing, revealing high practicality scores in terms of user convenience, attractiveness, and benefits, with an average score of 0.77. Overall, the results indicate that the POGIL-based general chemistry experiment manual developed in this study is both valid and practical.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The learning process carried out at MAS PSA Sulit Air still uses the lecture method and the learning resources used are in the form of textbooks, and have never used learning modules, thus causing students to be less active in the learning process. While in the 2013 curriculum it is said that during the learning process students must be actively involved. Efforts to make students actively involved in the learning process is to use teaching materials in the form of learning modules. This study aims to reveal the effect of using the buffer solution module on the learning outcomes of class XI IPA students at MAS PSA Sulit Air. Type of research is a quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent control group design. The research instrument used was a test of student learning outcomes in the form of 25 objective questions that had been tested. The data from the test results show that the data is normally distributed and homogeneous, so that hypothesis testing can be carried out with the t-test. From the results of the t-test, obtained Tcount>Ttable at a significant level of 0.05, it is stated that H1 is accepted. This means that the experimental class student learning outcomes are significantly higher than the control class. The results showed that the use of the buffer solution material module could improve student learning outcomes in class XI IPA at MAS PSA Sulit Air.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of varying additions of red dragon fruit peel (Hylocereus polyrhizus) on the quality of red dragon fruit jam, assessed through moisture content, vitamin C content, pH level, and organoleptic characteristics. The jam was formulated in three treatments: without peel, with the addition of 125 grams of peel, and with 250 grams. An experimental method was employed to measure changes in the composition and physicochemical properties of the jam. The results show that the addition of red dragon fruit peel increased moisture content from 26% to 39% and vitamin C content from 1.584% to 2.024%, while decreasing the pH from 4.9 to 4.4. Organoleptic tests revealed that the addition of 250 grams of peel yielded the highest scores for texture and taste attributes, whereas the characteristic aroma of dragon fruit was more pronounced in the jam without peel. These findings indicate that utilizing red dragon fruit peel positively impacts nutritional value, sensory characteristics, and the potential shelf life of the product. The implications of this study support the use of dragon fruit peel waste as an additive in the development of functional food products that are both economically valuable and environmentally sustainable.

Abstract

The management of household organic waste presents a significant challenge in efforts to promote environmental sustainability. This study aims to utilize banana peels (Musa balbisiana) and cabbage (Brassica oleracea) waste as raw materials for the production of eco-enzyme through a three-month fermentation process using a ratio of 3:1:10 (organic waste:brown sugar:water). The evaluation included organoleptic tests (color and aroma), pH measurement, and qualitative analysis of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) content. The results showed that both eco-enzyme variations exhibited a cloudy brown color, acidic aroma with varying banana peel scent intensity, and a pH of 3, indicating high acidity due to organic acid formation. Qualitative tests confirmed the presence of N, P, and K in both variations. These findings demonstrate the potential of combining banana peels and cabbage to produce eco-enzyme as an environmentally friendly organic fertilizer. Further research is recommended to conduct quantitative analysis to determine nutrient content levels and assess the effectiveness of eco-enzyme application in agricultural practices.

Abstract

Phoenix dactylifera L. is widely available on the market and is generally consumed directly, whereas kurma Ajwa dates have a high nutritional content (water 22.8 g; ash 3.43 g; protein 2.91 g; fat 0.47 g; carbohydrates 70%; dietary fiber 6.5–11.5%; and mineral contents of sodium 7.5 mg/100 g, magnesium 150 mg/100 g, calcium 187 mg/100 g, potassium 476.3 mg/100 g, phosphorus 27 mg/100 g, iron 0.15 mg/100 g, and zinc 0.52 mg/100 g), thus presenting potential as a food source to support the prevention of nutritional problems such as stunting. This study aimed to analyze the effect of adding Ajwa date pulp juice as a form of food diversification on the aroma, color, taste, texture, and mineral content of a chocolate beverage. A quantitative method was employed with varying concentrations of Ajwa date pulp addition of 0 g (control), 5 g, 10 g, 15 g, 20 g, and 25 g, coded as M1 to M6, respectively. The characteristics of the chocolate date beverage were evaluated using a hedonic test for aroma, color, taste, and texture, while the nutritional value (minerals) was analyzed by XRF in the sample most preferred by the panelists. Data were statistically analyzed using one-way ANOVA. The results show that the inclusion of Ajwa date pulp juice in the chocolate beverage formulation received positive panelist preferences and tended to increase nutritional value, particularly mineral content; M6 was the most preferred product among 25 panelists, and one of the minerals that increased was calcium, from 41.77 in M1 to 42.172 in M6. However, the addition of Ajwa date pulp juice at different concentrations did not produce statistically significant effects on the hedonic test results (aroma, color, taste, and texture) or on the mineral content of the beverage. Thus, varying levels of Ajwa date pulp juice in chocolate beverages can increase mineral levels, although not significantly in statistical terms, and have potential to be utilized as an alternative form of chocolate beverage diversification based on functional foods.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the availability of an Android-based Snakes and Ladders Chemistry educational game on the topic of acids and bases, which has been proven valid, practical, and effective yet its influence on students' cognitive learning outcomes remains unexplored. The aim of this research is to analyze the effect of using this media on the cognitive learning outcomes of Phase F senior high school students. The research employed a quasi-experimental design using a Post-test Only Control Group Design. The population consisted of all Grade XI Phase F students at SMA Negeri 2 Lubuk Basung, with random sampling used to select XI Chemistry 1 as the control group and XI Chemistry 2 as the experimental group. The instrument used was a cognitive learning outcome test. Data analysis included normality testing, homogeneity testing, and hypothesis testing using a t-test. The results showed that the average post-test score of the experimental class was 75.7, while the control class scored 62.5. The t-test result indicated that tcount (2.89) > ttable (1.70) at a significance level of α = 0.05, meaning that the use of the media had a significant effect on learning outcomes. The study concludes that the Android-based Snakes and Ladders Chemistry game positively influences students’ cognitive learning outcomes in the topic of acids and bases.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the availability of the Ludo Kimia educational game, which has been proven valid, practical, and effective as a learning exercise on acid-base material, yet its impact on students' cognitive learning outcomes remains unexplored. The objective of this research is to analyze the effect of using the Ludo Kimia game on the cognitive learning outcomes of Phase F students at SMA Negeri 14 Padang. The study employed a quasi-experimental method using the Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population consisted of all Phase F students, with samples selected through simple random sampling, resulting in class XI F.4 as the control group and XI F.3 as the experimental group. The instrument used was a multiple-choice test comprising 20 validated items. Data were analyzed using the t-test to evaluate the research hypothesis. The results showed that the average posttest score of the experimental class was 86.56, higher than the control class average of 77.5. The t-test yielded tcount (2.466) > ttable (1.996) at a significance level of α = 0.05, indicating a statistically significant effect. The study concludes that the use of the Ludo Kimia game significantly improves students’ cognitive learning outcomes on acid-base topics.
