Abstract

This research studies the mechanical properties of polypropylene concrete consist of compressive strength, modulus of elasticity, splitting tensile strength, flexural strength and deflection. Polypropylene fiber is a kind of plastic fiber that specially produced with high technology. Application of this polypropylene fiber aim to improve the mechanical propertiesof normal concrete. The specimens are cylinder and beam shapes. The variety that use is additional of polypropylene fiber at 0,0 kg/m3, 0,2 kg/m3, 0,4 kg/m3, 0,6 kg/m3, 0,8 kg/m3 and 1,0 kg/m3. The result of research shows that highest compressive strength and modulus of elasticity of concrete occurred at 0,4 kg/m3 polypropylene various. Highest splitting tensile strength and flexural strength of concrete occurs at 1,0 kg/m3 polypropylene fiber various. In generally, deflection test shows improvement within addition of polypropylene fiber. According to the result of research, additional polypropylene fiber into concrete mixture can improve the mechanical properties of concrete, especially compressive strength, modulus of elasticity, splitting tensile strength and deflection of concrete.Keyword : polypropylene fiber, mechanical properties, compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, flexural strength

Abstract

Penerapan Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) pada proyek konstruksi sangat penting untuk meningkatkan efisiensi, efektivitas, dan keselamatan pekerja. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dilaksanakan di CV. Sarana Mitra Teknik, sebuah perusahaan konstruksi di Palembang, bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran mengenai prinsip-prinsip K3 dalam pekerjaan konstruksi. Materi pelatihan mencakup pemahaman regulasi K3, penggunaan Alat Pelindung Diri (APD), serta Alat Pemadam Api Ringan (APAR). Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa peserta memahami pentingnya K3 dalam proyek konstruksi dan memperoleh wawasan baru mengenai penggunaan APD dan APAR. Evaluasi melalui kuesioner mengungkapkan bahwa 80% peserta mengalami peningkatan pemahaman tentang K3 setelah mengikuti pelatihan. Kegiatan ini mendukung penerapan K3 yang optimal di perusahaan untuk meningkatkan keselamatan dan produktivitas.

Abstract

This Community Service Program aims to enhance the awareness, knowledge, and practical skills of teachers and students at SD Negeri 2 Palembang in carrying out independent waste management. The main issue identified was the lack of awareness and discipline in sorting organic and inorganic waste, which contributes to environmental pollution and poor hygiene within the school area. The program was implemented through lectures, interactive discussions, and hands-on training involving the use of separate bins for different waste types. The results demonstrated a remarkable improvement in waste management understanding and behavior. Teachers and students have developed new habits of waste sorting before disposal, resulting in a cleaner, healthier, and more pleasant school environment. Additionally, the activity inspired creativity in transforming inorganic waste into useful and economically valuable crafts that can be reused. Overall, this program fostered environmental awareness, strengthened community participation, and encouraged sustainable waste management practices as part of daily school culture.
