Abstract

This study aimed to know the effect of making a match to increase students writing skill especially sentence pattern “noun + verb + adverbial. True experimental design was used in this study. The data of collecting technique used pretest and posttest, the population was 30 students English Education, the first semester, State of Islamic College (STAIN) Mandailing Natal, the sample used experimental group and control group. The analysis data used SPSS 16.0. The result of this study shows that students had better achievement in writing skill when learning writing used make a match method.

Abstract

This study is going to know what cooperative script method can increase students’ English skill on Islamic economic law especially in past tense material. This study used class action research and the data of collecting used pre test and post test. The population in this study was 60 students in first semester, Students’ Islamic economic law, State College of Islamic studies (STAIN) Mandailing Natal and used random sampling technique as sample, there were 30 students as sample. The analysis data used average score. The result of this study shows that cooperative give good significant in learning English especially in past tense material in first semester, Students’ Islamic economic law, State College of Islamic studies (STAIN) Mandailing Natal

Abstract

The objective of this study is to know the effect google classroom as learning platform in increasing students’ learning motivation in non-formal education subject of students’ Early Childhood Education programs during the first semester STAIN Mandailing Natal 2020/2021. This study is an experimental research with descriptive analysis. The population of this study was 128 students and there are 25 students as respondents in the cluster class. Pre-test and Post-test were used as techniques in collecting data. To analyze the data, the researcehrs used SPSS 16. The result of this study showed that the mean of pre-test was 47.692 and Post-test was 76.154 which can be concluded that there is an increase in the students’ learning motivation in experimental group using Google Classroom

Abstract

This study aimed to identify and describe the forms of Attitude as one of the aspects of Appraisal theory.. The object of this research is @officialtbistainmadina instragram account, especially on the last 15 comments out of a total of 47 comments published on November 4, 2020. Collecting data in this study is observation. This observation method is also called the observing method because the data is obtained by listening to the use of language. The data analysis technique in this study uses the referential equivalent method. The result of study shown that the various forms of Attitude that appear in these comments tend to use one of the three aspects in the form of Attitude, namely the aspect Affect with words such as "like", "delicious", "tempting".

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the students' responses to the use of comic strips as a learning medium in class VIII MTs N1 Morotai. This research used a quantitative method and included 38 eighth-grade students. This research employs a genuine experimental procedure, using random sampling as the sampling strategy. In the learning process, this instrument is utilized as a questioner following the comic strip treatment. As a result of this study, seven things are right or legitimate, while the other three are incorrect. Valid items ranging from 0.374 to 0.545 with an r-table of 5% were 0.320. Out of the 10 things tested, only seven were correct. The indicator selection revealed that the lowest score was 28 and the highest score was 45. The indicator of learning independence was assigned a score of 37.45, while the final one was assigned a score of 38.32 as an indicator of media presentation. Although comic strip media has limits, many other respondents think that they outweigh these drawbacks. The majority of responders believe it helps pupils enhance their writing skills.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan referensi strategi pengajaran literasi menulis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen kuantitatif. Berdasarkan data analisis, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan melalui penerapan metode pembacaan dan komposisi terpadu. Peneliti menarik beberapa kesimpulan bahwa terbukti pada kelas eksperimen terdapat perbedaan skor yang signifikan. Kelas eksperimen memiliki berbagai macam skor yang menunjukkan peningkatan dari perlakuan. Peneliti menyadarkan responden bahwa menulis tidak begitu sulit untuk dikuasai dengan menggunakan teknik ini. Setelah peneliti memberikan perlakuan, peneliti memberikan post test dan mendapat skor tertinggi 80 dan skor terendah adalah 60 yang mana memiliki rata-rata 70,36. Dari data tersebut terlihat bahwa mereka memiliki dorongan dalam menulis, dari 63 menjadi 70,36. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode ini memberikan efek yang sangat baik dan pasti mempengaruhi kemampuan responden dalam menguasai keterampilan menulis di era normal baru.

Abstract

Both Indonesia and Vietnam provide English as foreign language instruction. In contrast to Indonesia, where English proficiency is low, Vietnam has a moderate level of English proficiency. Although Vietnam has a moderate level of English proficiency, its curriculum is nearly identical to that of Indonesia, making it suitable for comparative research. This research aimed to identify the significant differences between Indonesian and Vietnamese universities’ English language teacher education curricula. This study employed a qualitative methodology to compare the English as a foreign language teacher education curricula in Vietnam and Indonesia. In this study, descriptive analysis was utilized. The English education curricula documents obtained from the university’s website were used for data analysis. The research settings were Universitas Pasifik Morotai in Indonesia and the Giao Su-IESUS Evangelical School of Universal Studies in Vietnam. The finding showed that Vietnamese Universities stressed the dimension of content knowledge, communication competence, contextual knowledge, and professionalism practice theory. However, teaching competence, research knowledge, Community Practice Membership, and general knowledge are often overlooked. Compared to the EFL curriculum in Vietnam, the Indonesian curriculum, particularly at Universitas Paisfik Morotai, emphasized communication skills, content knowledge, research knowledge, and teaching competence/pedagogical aspects

Abstract

By using the aforementioned characters, it is hoped that students'' vocabulary mastery will go beyond simply knowing the definitions of the words. This is especially true for words and phrases that are commonly used or found on social media, such as Tiktok. Students'' language proficiency increases with the size of their vocabulary. They can mold their English and consider it one of their school topics by developing their vocabulary. The authors were motivated to conduct this study to learn more about the impact of social media platforms like Tiktok on vocabulary development in pupils based on the information and issues mentioned above. Pre-experimental research using a quantitative method was the research design used in this study. The researchers chose this approach because it provided a quantitative study design that was used to share questionnaires. The results of the survey show that students have a positive attitude towards using TikTok to learn English vocabulary. Due to the variety of vocabulary levels available, TikTok significantly helps students improve their English vocabulary. In addition, TikTok''s many engaging elements help to effectively improve students' vocabulary. In conclusion, TikTok is a technology tool that has a significant impact in many different areas. The use of TikTok in language learning increases students'' motivation to learn and is successful in acquiring English vocabulary.

Abstract

This study examines the convergence theory's applicability in the language acquisition process of two language ambassadors who possess excellent English speaking abilities. The research utilizes a qualitative method, employing in-depth interviews as the primary data collection tool. The respondents, Vina and Rafli, were selected based on their outstanding English proficiency demonstrated through language tests and academic achievements. Findings reveal that both internal factors (such as interest and talent) and external factors (such as supportive environments and learning facilities) significantly contribute to the respondents' language proficiency. The study concludes that the convergence theory accurately explains the language acquisition process in the cases of Vina and Rafli.

Abstract

This research aims to improve students vocabulary mastery by using of mnemonic technique at eighth grade SMP IT Nurul Iman Pesawaran. This research used classroom action research design (CAR) to improve the students’ vocabulary mastery to support English language skills by using Mnemonic method (Harefa, 2020).The population of this research is the second grade SMP IT Nurul Iman Pesawaran, This research involves twenty students at the second gradeThis research consists of 3 cycles, the first cycle was carried out on March 5th 2024, in the first cycle the researcher made plans before entering class, such as lesson plans and learning media, then took action such as implementing the learning that had been designed, from the results of the learning the researcher carried out an evaluation then reflected in the second cycle. In this research, the researcher determined that the average score that students had to achieve was 75.00, and the results of the first cycle of learning using the mnemonic method got an average score of 61.00, because we had not reached the target, we carried out the second cycle on March 12th 2024. In the second cycle, the same as the first cycle, we reached the reflection stage and got a result of 67.75. Because we had not yet reached the target, we carried out the third cycle on March 19th 2024, by evaluating the learning that had not been optimal before, until we got an average score of 79.75. In this result, it shows an improvement students’ vocabulary mastery through mnemonic method for second grade of SMP IT Nurul Iman Pesawaran.
