Abstract

Motivasi merupakan salah satu faktor psikologis yang diperlukan dalam kegiatan belajar. Anak dengan distrofi muskular progesif mengalami kemunduran dan kelemahan otot yang menyebabkan gangguan fungsi mobilisasi dan gangguan kemampuan gerak tangan yang bersifat progresif. Gangguan fungsi motorik berdampak terhadap aspek psikologis dan sosial sehingga berdampak pula pada aspek pendidikan. Masalah pendidikan yang timbul diakibatkan oleh kesulitan menyesuaikan diri dan kemampuan fisik yang terus menurun. Kondisi anak akan cepat lelah, konsentrasi pendek, motivasi menurun, dan akhirnya tidak mau sekolah. Subjek pada penelitian adalah seorang peserta didik dengan kondisi distrofi muskular progresif di SLB D YPAC Bandung yang berada di kelas XI. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus (case study research). Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Pengujian keabsahan data dilakukan dengan triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menggambarkan bahwa subjek ZZ masih memiliki motivasi dalam belajar yang ditunjukkan dalam aspek dorongan dan kebutuhan belajar, durasi untuk belajar, frekuensi dalam belajar, tidak putus asa, dan senang memecahkan soal-soal. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi motivasi belajar yaitu: (1) Cita-cita atau aspirasi siswa; (2) Kemampuan siswa; (3) Kondisi Siswa; (4) Kondisi lingkungan siswa; (5) Unsur-unsur dinamis dalam belajar dan pembelajaran; (6) Upaya guru dalam membelajarkan siswa. Hambatan yang dialami oleh ZZ disebabkan karena kondisi fisik, fasilitas, dan rasa malas yang tiba-tiba. Upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi hambatan pada kegiatan belajar mengajar anak DMP adalah dengan membuat mudah konsep yang dianggap sulit, dibarengi dengan motivasi dan pengertian akan pentingnya ilmu yang dipelajari serta pembelajaran yang diberikan tidak menyulitkan bagi anak.

Abstract

Academic assessment instruments are necessary for obtaining data about student learning needs. Teachers need assessment instruments to collect accurate information as a reference in devising learning programs. The development of mathematics assessment instrument for children with autistic spectrum needs to be carried out to produce valid and easy-to-use instrument for teachers to assess their students' mathematical abilities. This research results showed that the developed instrument consisting of four aspects, including numbers, counting operations, place-values, and fractions. The validity check revealed that this instrument could be considered as valid and usable.

Abstract

Orientation and mobility skills are special skills that must be mastered by children with visual impairment, thus an orientation and mobility intervention program is important to develop. Fear or anxiety in children with visual impairment related to orientation and mobility can be caused by fear from within the children or from the environment. Personality, motivation, psychosocial factor, and family and community attitudes all contribute to one's reaction to mobility activities independently. This research aims to reduce the fear of children with visual impairment in performing orientation and mobility activities by implementing an intervention program through bibliotherapy technique. This research is a case study research with a qualitative approach. Bibliotherapy was carried out on two young children with visual impairment. The results of the program implementation show that children's fear or anxiety could be reduced in both cases in this research as seen by autonomous moves of the two children from the mother and caregiver and began to learn to trace the walls of the room.

Abstract

Orientasi dan mobilitas (OM) merupakan satu keterampilan penting bagi anak tunanetra untuk dikembangakan yang sering kurang diperhatikan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh diterapkannya permainan tradisional petak umpet yang dimodifikasi terhadap peningkatan keterampilan orientasi dan mobilitas anak tunantera usia dini. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 7 orang anak tunanetra yang terdiri dari 3 orang perempuan dan 4 orang laki-laki berusia 5 - 6 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitiannya yaitu one group pretest-postest design. Penelitian membandingkan keadaan sebelum diberikan perlakuan dan setelah diberikan perlakuan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan melakukan pretest dan postest masing-masing satu kali berupa tes keterampilan OM pada semua subjek penelitian. Perlakuan berupa permainan petak umpet modifikasi dan dilakukan sebanyak 6 putaran. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan Wilcoxon matched pairs test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keterampilan OM pada subjek penelitian. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis diperoleh bahwa permainan tradisional petak umpet modifikasi mempengaruhi peningkatan keterampilan OM, dengan demikian permainan ini dapat digunakan untuk melatih keterampilan orientasi dan mobiltas pada anak tunanetra.

Abstract

One of the impacts of the covid 19 pandemic is that schools are closed, and students are asked to study at home. This condition affects students with autistic spectrum disorders. Distance learning (PJJ) makes students with autistic spectrum disorders uncomfortable, often tantrums, and become more frustrated. This condition is why researchers examine the implementation of distance learning for children with autistic spectrum disorders. This study aims to analyze PJJ in children with autistic spectrum disorders. This research used a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out using interview and questionnaire methods. The subjects of this study were teachers of children with special needs for children with autistic spectrum disorders (ASD) in schools. The analysis used qualitative analysis. The results showed that the PJJ online learning process mostly used WhatsApp. It is due to limitations on facilities for online learning, limited knowledge and skills of parents to use PJJ process facilities, and some teachers who need to be more skilled in carrying out the PJJ process. Online training or seminars are needed as an approach to parents to provide the understanding and improve teacher skills in PJJ. The results of this study are expected to facilitate parents and teachers in PJJ, especially for children with autistic disorders

Abstract

The inability to achieve complete independence in students with special needs has the potential to make this group vulnerable to problems, including reproductive health and sexuality problems. These problems are suspected to be due to the lack of understanding and perception of teachers in the concept and implementation of reproductive health and sexuality education in Special Schools (SLB). This study was conducted to see teachers' understanding of reproductive health and sexuality education for students with special needs. Using a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design, this study involved 15 teachers from six SLBs in Bandung City who were selected using the purposive sampling method. The data obtained were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The results of the study showed a significant increase in the average score, indicating that the efforts made could improve teachers' understanding of reproductive health and sexuality education. Teachers felt more prepared to deal with the problems of students with special needs regarding reproductive health and sexuality after participating in competency refresher courses by participating in training or discussions. Training and discussions that are planned systematically, sustainably, and comprehensively can improve teacher competence and, more broadly, can improve the quality of reproductive health and sexuality education in SLB. AbstrakKetidakmampuan pencapaian kemandirian secara utuh pada peserta didik berkebutuhan khusus berpotensi membuat kelompok ini rentan terhadap masalah, termasuk masalah kesehatan reproduksi dan seksualitas. Permasalahan tersebut disinyalir karena adanya kekurangpahaman dan persepsi guru dalam tataran konsep dan implementasi pendidikan kesehatan reproduksi dan seksualitas di Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB). Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat pemahaman guru terhadap pendidikan kesehatan reproduksi dan seksualitas untuk peserta didik berkebutuhan khusus. Menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan one group pretest -posttest design, penelitian ini melibatkan 15 guru dari enam SLB di Kota Bandung yang dipilih dengan metode purposive sampling. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan uji Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukan peningkatan rata-rata skor secara signifikan yang menunjukkan bahwa upaya yang dilakukan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman guru terhadap pendidikan kesehatan reproduksi dan seksualitas. Guru merasa lebih siap untuk menghadapi permasalahan peserta didik berkebutuhan khusus mengenai kesehatan reproduksi dan seksualitas setelah mengikuti penyegaran kompetensi dengan mengikuti pelatihan atau diskusi. Pelatihan dan diskusi yang direncanakan dengan sistematis, berkelanjutan, dan komprehensif dapat meningkatkan kompetensi guru dan secara lebih luas dapat meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan kesehatan reproduksi dan seksualitas di SLB.Kata Kunci: guru sekolah luar biasa; pemahaman guru; pendidikan kesehatan reproduksi dan seksualitas.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is most common among women in Indonesia, with the main causes being Human Papillomavirus (HPV) types 16 and 18. Vaccination is an effective strategy for reducing the incidence of cervical cancer. Since 2023, the Indonesian government has provided free HPV vaccines for girls in grades 5 and 6 of elementary school. In its implementation, teachers play a role in shaping students' perceptions of the importance of reproductive health, which needs to be communicated to parents. This community service activity aims to increase teachers' knowledge about the HPV vaccine and cervical cancer, as well as strengthen their skills in communicating the importance of HPV vaccination to parents. The intervention was carried out through interactive discussion sessions, supported by educational materials in the form of banners and guidebooks that teachers could use when conducting outreach to parents. A total of 50 teachers in Subang Regency participated in this activity. Qualitative evaluation showed that most reported an increase in knowledge and felt more confident in discussing HPV vaccines with parents. These findings suggest that health promotion programs targeting teachers can effectively support school-based HPV vaccination initiatives.   Abstrak Kanker serviks paling sering terjadi pada perempuan di Indonesia dengan penyebab utama dari Human Papillomavirus (HPV) tipe 16 dan 18. Vaksinasi sebagai strategi efektif untuk menurunkan insidensi kanker serviks, sejak tahun 2023 pemerintah Indonesia menyediakan vaksin HPV secara gratis bagi anak perempuan kelas 5 dan 6 sekolah dasar. Dalam pelaksanaannya, guru berperan untuk membentuk persepsi murid akan pentingnya kesehatan reproduksi, hal tersebut perlu dikomunikasikan dengan orang tua. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan guru mengenai vaksin HPV dan kanker serviks, serta memperkuat keterampilan mereka dalam mengkomunikasikan pentingnya vaksinasi HPV kepada orang tua. Intervensi dilakukan melalui penyuluhan dengan diskusi interaktif, didukung materi edukasi berupa banner dan buku panduan yang dapat digunakan guru ketika melakukan sosialisasi kepada orang tua. Sebanyak 50 guru di Kabupaten Subang berpartisipasi pada kegiatan ini. Evaluasi kualitatif menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar melaporkan peningkatan pengetahuan serta merasa lebih percaya diri untuk berdiskusi dengan orang tua mengenai vaksin HPV. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa program promosi kesehatan yang berfokus pada guru dapat mendukung  program vaksinasi HPV berbasis sekolah. Kata Kunci: kampanye kesehatan; kanker serviks; vaksin HPV

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by high blood sugar levels due to defects in insulin secretion or function. This Community Service Program aims to improve the understanding of community health workers and families of geriatric patients suffering from Diabetes Mellitus (DM) about the importance of a healthy lifestyle in managing the disease. With an approach based on healthy eating, stress management, and regular physical activity, the program targets the prevention of early complications of DM. Elderly people with diabetes are at high risk of complications such as heart disease, stroke, and functional impairments. Therefore, involving families in supporting patients' lifestyle changes is essential. This program includes counseling on blood sugar monitoring, meal planning, pharmacological interventions, and appropriate physical exercises for older adults. The results show that through education and training, families and health cadres can help patients better manage their diabetes, improve their quality of life, and prevent further complications. This program is expected to be expanded to significantly impact the prevention and management of diabetes in the community.   Abstrak Diabetes melitus adalah gangguan metabolik yang ditandai dengan kadar gula darah yang tinggi akibat defek dalam sekresi atau kerja insulin. Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman kader dan keluarga pasien geriatri yang menderita Diabetes Melitus (DM) mengenai pentingnya gaya hidup sehat dalam pengelolaan penyakit ini. Dengan pendekatan yang berbasis pada pola makan sehat, pengelolaan stres, dan aktivitas fisik yang teratur, program ini menargetkan pencegahan komplikasi dini DM. Lansia dengan diabetes berisiko tinggi mengalami komplikasi, seperti penyakit jantung, stroke, dan gangguan fungsional. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk melibatkan keluarga dalam mendukung perubahan gaya hidup sehat pasien. Program ini mencakup penyuluhan tentang pemeriksaan kadar gula darah, perencanaan makan, intervensi farmakologis, serta latihan fisik yang sesuai untuk lansia. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa melalui edukasi dan pelatihan, keluarga dan kader kesehatan dapat membantu pasien mengelola diabetes dengan lebih baik, meningkatkan kualitas hidup, dan mencegah komplikasi lebih lanjut. Program ini diharapkan dapat diperluas untuk menciptakan dampak lebih besar dalam pencegahan dan pengelolaan diabetes di masyarakat. Abstract

Children with spastic diplegic cerebral palsy commonly experience limitations in walking ability, which significantly affect their functional independence and quality of life. This study aimed to examine the effect of a virtual reality–based intervention on walking ability in children with spastic diplegic cerebral palsy. A quantitative approach using a single-subject research design was employed. Three children participated as individual cases based on predefined inclusion criteria. The intervention was implemented across three phases: baseline-1, intervention, and baseline-2. Walking ability was assessed using performance tests and systematic observation, with outcomes measured using the Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM). Data were analyzed through within-condition and between-condition analysis to identify changes across phases. The results demonstrated a consistent improvement in walking ability during the intervention phase, with increased stability and higher GMFM scores compared to baseline conditions. Improvements were maintained during the post-intervention phase, indicating a retention effect. These findings suggest that virtual reality–based intervention provides effective motor stimulation and supports improvements in walking ability in children with spastic diplegic cerebral palsy. Virtual reality may serve as a promising complementary approach in pediatric motor rehabilitation, particularly for enhancing motivation, engagement, and functional mobility.
