Abstract

Orientation and mobility skills are special skills that must be mastered by children with visual impairment, thus an orientation and mobility intervention program is important to develop. Fear or anxiety in children with visual impairment related to orientation and mobility can be caused by fear from within the children or from the environment. Personality, motivation, psychosocial factor, and family and community attitudes all contribute to one's reaction to mobility activities independently. This research aims to reduce the fear of children with visual impairment in performing orientation and mobility activities by implementing an intervention program through bibliotherapy technique. This research is a case study research with a qualitative approach. Bibliotherapy was carried out on two young children with visual impairment. The results of the program implementation show that children's fear or anxiety could be reduced in both cases in this research as seen by autonomous moves of the two children from the mother and caregiver and began to learn to trace the walls of the room.

Abstract

Activity partners selected in this service activity were selected using a purposive sample system (subjective sample intended based on the researcher's assessment). Based on observations and informal interviews with partners and the community in Kawali Village, Ciamis, Indonesia, the empowerment of children with special needs and the community through gardening activities in the village is very necessary for land use, increasing productivity, and efforts to create an inclusive community environment. The techniques are counseling, webinars, questions and answers, the direct object method of gardening with special needs children, child gardening at home, learning active methods, descriptive interviews, and practices related to gardening activities. The results of the study are: (1) an increase in public knowledge regarding the child with special needs, (2) creating a friendly environment for crew members, (3) publication of activities published in popular media, and (4) design of sustainable targets for further activities. This community service activity has a good impact and a positive value because the series of activities carried out can be a means of improving a friendly environment for children with special needs, and providing useful knowledge to the Kawali, Ciamis, Indonesia.

Abstract

Academic assessment instruments are necessary for obtaining data about student learning needs. Teachers need assessment instruments to collect accurate information as a reference in devising learning programs. The development of mathematics assessment instrument for children with autistic spectrum needs to be carried out to produce valid and easy-to-use instrument for teachers to assess their students' mathematical abilities. This research results showed that the developed instrument consisting of four aspects, including numbers, counting operations, place-values, and fractions. The validity check revealed that this instrument could be considered as valid and usable.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the use of dioramas in learning about the highlands and lowlands for children with autistic spectrum disorders. This learning is delivered using diorama media so that children can imagine the actual environmental conditions. The method used is a single-subject method with a pretest-posttest research design. The results of this study will be reviewed from changes in students' knowledge after being given learning using diorama. Data collection techniques will be carried out through pretest before learning and posttest after learning. The result of this research is an increase in knowledge about the highlands and lowlands. it can be seen from the results of the post-test students who experienced an increase in the average value of 45. This is because the diorama learning media is interesting and can stimulate the focus of children with autism spectrum disorders. The results of this study are expected to be a solution for teachers in teaching students about highland and lowland material, especially for children with autism spectrum disorders.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan dengan permasalahan yang terjadi dilapangan pada anak dengan hambatan intelektual dalam kemandirian. Bina diri merupakan kemampuan anak dalam mengurus diri, menolong diri dan merawat diri sehingga anak dapat melksanakan kegiatan sehari – hari tanpa bergantung dengan orang lain. Salah satu bina diri merawat diri yaitu menggunakan pembalut. Dapat diketahui bahwa pemakai pembalut ini berkaitan denga mainstruasi (haid). Menstruasi (haid) adalah perdarahan periodik dan periodik dari rahim dengan terlepasnya endometrium terjadi pada perempuan yang sudah mengalami pubertas. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan observasi pada pihak sekolah untuk mengetahui implemtasi bina diri dan kesiapan sekolah. Berdasarkan observasi terdapat anak dengan hambatan intelektual yang sudah memasuki usia pubertas, oleh karna itu peneliti tertarik untuk membuat rancangan program bina diri dalam memakai pembalut untuk di implementasikan oleh guru yang menjadi fasilitator. Program ini selaras dengan pengertian Problem Based Learning. Program ini bertujuan untuk anak mampu merawat diri sendiri tanpa bantuan orang lain. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini metode campuran atau kombinasi (mixed methods) yang menggambungkan antara data kuantitaif dan data kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian pada siswa SDLB kelas 5 dengan jumlah subjek 1 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes. teknik analisis datanya menggunakan statistik deskriptif yang dituangkan ke dalam grafik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penerapan program prmbrlajran bina diri dalam memakai pembalut dengan metode Problem Based Learning berhasil. Hal ini dibuktikan dari hasil pada pretest dan postets yang dilakukan menunjukan peningkatan yang signifikan.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Pendidikan untuk anak berkebutuhan khusus membutuhkan suatu pola layanan tersendiri khususnya bagi anak-anak tunagrahita yang memiliki tingkat kecerdasan. Dampak hambatan pada anak tunagrahita sehingga mereka memerlukan pendidikan khusus, ini sejalan dengan pendidikan khusus yang sesuai dengan Undang-undang Republik Indonesia Tentang Sistem Pendidikan Nasional Nomor 20 Tahun 2003 dalam pasal 32 ayat (2), yaitu bahwa “pendidikan khusus merupakan pendidikan suatu layanan untuk anak berkebutuhan khusus”. Tujuan: Bagaimana kemampuan objektif keterampilan vokasional anak tunagrahita ringan saat ini dan mengembangkan keterampilan vokasional untuk kesiapan kerja siswa. Metode: Menggunakan metode kualitatif karena, permasalahan belum jelas, holistic, kompleks, dinamis dan penuh makna Disini peneliti ingin menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif karena peneliti ingin mencari studi kasus mengumpulkan data-data menganalisis data secara kondisi yang ada dilapangan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil: Komponen pembelajaran keterampilan vokasional membuat pizza, persiapan pembelajaran keterampilan vokasional membuat pizza bagi anak tunagrahita, pelaksanaan dan harapan agar anak dapat mengembangkan keterampilan vokasional membuat pizza. Hasilnya terkait keterampilan membuat pizza dari persiapan, pelaksanaan dan harapan. Anak tunagrahita yang peneliti praktekkan dapat menyelesaikan keterampilan tersebut, dari persiapan anak dapat memperhatikan guru mengenalkan bahan-bahan, pelaksanaanya awalnya anak masih keliru untuk toping-toping yang harus disesuaikan dengan pesanan setelah langkah selanjutnya anak dapat menyesuaikan toping-toping yang akan digunakan, harapannya agar anak dapat mengembangkan keterampilan vokasional untuk bekal di dunia kerja. Kesimpulan: Terkait keterampilan vokasional adalah dari struktur awal memberikan pelatihan kepada anak tunagrahita untuk menyiapkan pembelajaran keterampilan vokasional membuat pizza.

Abstract

Orientasi dan mobilitas (OM) merupakan satu keterampilan penting bagi anak tunanetra untuk dikembangakan yang sering kurang diperhatikan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh diterapkannya permainan tradisional petak umpet yang dimodifikasi terhadap peningkatan keterampilan orientasi dan mobilitas anak tunantera usia dini. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 7 orang anak tunanetra yang terdiri dari 3 orang perempuan dan 4 orang laki-laki berusia 5 - 6 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitiannya yaitu one group pretest-postest design. Penelitian membandingkan keadaan sebelum diberikan perlakuan dan setelah diberikan perlakuan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan melakukan pretest dan postest masing-masing satu kali berupa tes keterampilan OM pada semua subjek penelitian. Perlakuan berupa permainan petak umpet modifikasi dan dilakukan sebanyak 6 putaran. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan Wilcoxon matched pairs test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keterampilan OM pada subjek penelitian. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis diperoleh bahwa permainan tradisional petak umpet modifikasi mempengaruhi peningkatan keterampilan OM, dengan demikian permainan ini dapat digunakan untuk melatih keterampilan orientasi dan mobiltas pada anak tunanetra.

Abstract

One of the impacts of the covid 19 pandemic is that schools are closed, and students are asked to study at home. This condition affects students with autistic spectrum disorders. Distance learning (PJJ) makes students with autistic spectrum disorders uncomfortable, often tantrums, and become more frustrated. This condition is why researchers examine the implementation of distance learning for children with autistic spectrum disorders. This study aims to analyze PJJ in children with autistic spectrum disorders. This research used a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out using interview and questionnaire methods. The subjects of this study were teachers of children with special needs for children with autistic spectrum disorders (ASD) in schools. The analysis used qualitative analysis. The results showed that the PJJ online learning process mostly used WhatsApp. It is due to limitations on facilities for online learning, limited knowledge and skills of parents to use PJJ process facilities, and some teachers who need to be more skilled in carrying out the PJJ process. Online training or seminars are needed as an approach to parents to provide the understanding and improve teacher skills in PJJ. The results of this study are expected to facilitate parents and teachers in PJJ, especially for children with autistic disorders

Abstract

Based on the observation results, children with cerebral palsy were the subjects of the study. They communicate using gestures such as pointing accompanied by meaningless vocalizations. Only some people can immediately understand what the child intends. When they need something, the child will cry and scream. Based on these obstacles, the children need media as an alternative and augmentative communication system that can support them in communicating with their modalities and needs, one of which is using symbolic pictures and voice output. This research aims to design an alternative and augmentative communication program based on the children's assessment results. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and documentation. The study results in a program design expected to be implemented as a comprehensive tool to assist children in communication.
