Abstract

Less ideal chicken coop condition is one reason for the low productivity of chickens in Indonesia. Based on this condition, breeders need monitoring and control devices that can be used easily anywhere and anytime. In this study, the monitoring and control devices based on the Internet of Things (IoT) were successfully designed using the ESP8266 microcontroller. The monitoring system used a DHT11 temperature sensor while the controller used a bulb and fan as the actuator. Monitoring data and control commands were displayed via Telegram. Coop testing was carried out with three different treatments-the light was on, the fan was on, and both were on-resulting in temperature and humidity measurement data ranging from 24–32 ºC and 61–78%, respectively. Therefore, this monitoring and control device can prevent the conditions of the chicken coop that are ideal less so that chickens' productivity increases.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.17977/um024v5i22020p056

Abstract

The integration between interactive media and HOTS question could give a big impact on learning process in class room, especially on learning interest and student concept understanding. Android is a learning media that could save more information and questions like ebook. This study was conducted to determine the feasibility of an Android-based electronic book with High Order Thinking Skills to Help Students Analyze Amounts on Straight Motion Material. This research method was used in the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). The electronic book was tested for validation by the validator with an average value of 3.94 and the module readability test with respondents of 25 students who obtained an average value of 96%. Based on the data obtained, it can be conclude that the electronic book has decent criteria.

Abstract

Household waste is waste that comes from daily activities in the household which does not include feces and specific waste. Improper waste management can have a negative impact on the surrounding environment. Based on the complaints of the people of RT 09 RW 03 in Wadung Village, waste processing in the area is considered not to be carried out comprehensively and caused a negative impact, such as air pollution which also affect the level of public health. Wadung Village needs digital media to improve skills in waste management. A simple media website, which is able to provide education about waste and the use of high-value products is expected to be able to provide solutions for the local community. Through the Community Service Student Creativity Program, we have a solution called "Innovation of Ecopreneur-Based Household Waste Management Platform for the Community of Wadung Village, Pakisaji Malang". This concept uses the blended learning method, which combines teaching with face-to-face and online. In addition, this concept combines three important components in sustainable development, namely environmental, economic and social care. When solution implemented, the public has understood the importance of waste management, the implementation of digital ecopreneurs, and the utilization of the PORTALBIN platform.

Abstract

Industri kecil “BUNDA” yang terletak di Desa Paringan Kecamatan Jenangan Kabupaten Ponorogo bergerak dalam bidang produksi pangan berupa keripik pare yang memiliki rasa khas yang gurih dan pahit. Keluhan yang muncul adalah masih adanya minyak dalam keripiknya dan kapasitas produksi masih rendah sehingga kewalahan melayani permintaan. Sebagai industri kecil yang mulai mendapat pelanggan, maka diperlukan peningkatan produksi dan mutu produknya. Untuk itu perlu diberikan hibah spinner yang berkapasitas lebih besar dan kuat agar mampu mengolah pare lebih banyak sehingga mampu memenuhi permintaan dan juga mampu memeras minyak lebih baik sehingga keripiknya semakin kering dan renyah.Kata kunci— pengabdian masyarakat, peningkatan mutu, keripik pare, upgrade, spinner

Abstract

Air sumur di Dukuh Keling Desa Pengkol Kecamatan Kauman Kabupaten Ponorogo memiliki air yang asin sehingga tidak bisa dikonsumsi. Agar bisa dikonsumsi maka diperlukan sebuah teknologi penyulingan air sederhana dari bahan yang murah, yaitu dandang bakso aluminium dengan radiator pendingin berupa pipa tembaga untuk AC. Kegiatan dilakukan dalam dua tahap, yaitu (1) Persiapan dengan melakukan pengambilan sampel dan pengukuran air asin mengukur dengan XRD dan TDS meter, (2) ujicoba pemurnian di workshop Departemen Fisika, dan (3) melatih perangkat desa dan penduduk terpilih untuk membuat alat sederhana pemurnian air asin. Hasil ujicoba di laboratorium alat yang dikembangkan mampu memurnikan air keran dengan TDS 150 menjadi 6, dan memurnikan air garam dari nilai 1110 menjadi 11. Sementara aplikasi di Dukuh Keling menunjukkan penurunan TDS dari yang semula bernilai 555 menjadi 6 dan saat sisa air asin dicampur kembali diperoleh TDS 120.
