Abstract

AbstrakTelah dilakukan pengukuran resistivitas dan dielektrisitas tanah perkebunan Apel di Malang. Pengukuran resistivitas dilakukan dengan metode Geolistrik dan dielektrisitas dengan menggunakan Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR). Metode Geolistrik dilakukan dengan konfigurasi dipole-dipole dengan teknik sounding –mapping pada tiga lintasan area perkebunan seluas 1800 m2 dan satu lintasan pada area lapangan di sebelah perkebunan. Sementara itu, metode GPR diterapkan pada dua pohon apel untuk mengidentifikasi sistem perakaran apel. Pengukuran resistivitas dilakukan di perkebunan Apel desa Bengkaras Pujon, Malang sedangkan GPR dilakukan di perkebunan Poncokusumo Malang. Dari hasil pengolahan data resistivitas dengan menggunakan software Res2dinv diperoleh hasil nilai resistivitas dari keempat lintasan adalah: lintasan pertama 4,83 – 22094 Wm, lintasan kedua 6,69 – 4947 Wm, lintasan ketiga 14,1 – 178 Wm dan lintasan keempat 4,50 – 20025 Wm. Dari data tersebut secara keseluruhan belum dapat dibedakan dengan jelas nilai resistivitas antara daerah perkebunan dengan bukan perkebunan di lingkungan penelitian. Sementara itu dari pengukuran GPR diperoleh jangkauan pengukuran mencapai kedalaman 2,18 meter dan jangkauan kedalaman akar apel 1.9 meter. Rentang nilai konstanta dielektrik yang diperoleh 0,1 – 8,8 F/m. Nilai konstanta dielektrik akar 4,9 F/m. Kata kunci: Resistivitas, dielektrisitas, tanah, perkebunan apel AbstractThe resistivity and dielectric properties of Apple’s soil plantation area in Malang have been measured.  Resistivity measurement was done using geo-electrical methods and dielectric properties was measured using ground penetrating radar (GPR). Configuration of geo-electrical methods in this research is dipole-dipole and sounding –mapping technique. We have three line measurement of geo-electrical measurement for an area 1800 m2 and one line on the football yard beside of the apple plantation in Bengkaras village Pujon, Malang. Meanwhile, GPR methods was conducted on two apple trees to identify apple root system in apple plantation in Poncokusumo village Malang. The result of this research based on data analysis using Res2dinv software shows the resistivity value of four line, that are 4,83 – 22094 Wm for line number one, 6,69 – 4947 Wm  for second line, 14,1 – 178 Wm for line number three and 4,50 – 20025 Wm for line number four. From the data, generally, we cannot distinguish clearly of resistivity value of apple plantation and football yard. On the other hand, GPR measurement we can describe the maximum depth of penetrate is about 2,18 meter and the depth of root system is about 1.9 meter. The range of dielectric value is between 0,1 to 8.8 F/m and the dielectric constant of root is about 4,9 F/m. Keywords: Resistivity, dielectric, soil, apple plantation

Abstract

This research aims to find out the anticancer activity of ethanol extract from the roots, leaves, and flowers of Calotropis gigantea. This experiment was conducted by MTT method on T47D breast cancer cell line. The result showed that the root of Calotropis gigantea was more cytotoxic (IC50 89.76 μg/mL) on T47D breast cancer cell line than the leaves (IC50 459.51 μg/mL) and the flowers (IC501000). Based on the result, roots are potent to be chemotherapeutic agent, especially in breast cancer.

Abstract

Abstrak. Tanah vulkanis merupakan suatu perlapisan tanah yang terbentuk oleh hamparan material letusan gunung berapi saat meletus. Tanah vulkanis biasanya tandus. Perlu waktu yang lama bertahun-tahun dan bahkan sampai berpuluh-puluh tahun untuk menumbuhkan kembali vegetasi (re-vegetasi) di daerah ini. Untuk itu perlu dicari suatu cara agar pada tanah yang semula tandus dapat sesegera mungkin ditumbuhi tanam-tanaman, sehingga tanah vulkanis menjadi produktif. Melihat kondisinya yang seperti ini dapatlah dianalisa bahwa masalah utama pada daerah tersebut adalah air dan cara mengelolanya. Di sini diberikan salah satu contoh untuk mencari air pada daerah tanah vulkanis tandus yaitu dengan Metoda Geolistrik. Dari hasil yang didapat bahwa walaupun bagian atasnya berupa tanah vulkanik tandus, namun di bawahnya masih terpendam akuifer-akuifer yang dapat disadap airnya. Setelah airnya didapat, airnya mestinya dikelola sehngga dapat dipakai oleh hewan maupun tumbuhan. Simbiosis antara hewan dan tumbuhan dapat mempercepat proses re-vegetasi pada daerah vulkanis tandus. Sebagai hasil studi, dapat dilihat pada beberapa daerah di Kabupaten Karangasem Bali.Kata kunci: Re-vegetasi, Tanah vulkanis tandus, Metoda Geolistrik, Air sumur

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan mengungkap perubahan penguasaan konsep Mekanika Newtonan mahasiswa yang menempuh Mata kuliah Fisika Sekolah di Universitas Negeri Surabaya setelah pembelajaran Collaborative Inquiry berbasis diagram diagram interaksi. Peningkatan penguasaan konsep diukur dengan 20 butir soal pilihan ganda beralasan. Berdasarkan hasil uji t-berpasangan diperoleh t = -11.6 dengan sig. = 0.00 yang menunjukkan bahwa skor pretest dan postest berbeda secara signifikan. Peningkatan tersebut dalam kategori sedang, diindikasikan dengan N-gain 0.38. Perbedaan skor dengan kategori kuat diindikasikan oleh effect size 2,17. Selain itu, peningkatan penguasaan konsep diindikasi dari bertambahnya jumlah mahasiswa yang memberikan alasan benar dalam menjawab soal terutama dalam memahami konsep gaya.

Abstract

Tanah sawah merupakan tanah khas antropogenik yang memiliki peran penting di seluruh dunia, tidak terkecuali di Indonesia. Seiring perkembangan pembangunan dan perkotaan tanah sawah menjadi beralih fungsi sehingga tercipta lingkungan sawah yang berada dekat dengan aktivitas manusia seperti industri. Upaya dalam memahami keadaan lingkungan seperti itu dapat dilakukan dengan agromagnetisme yaitu memahami sifat mineral magnetik yang terkandung dalam tanah pertanian atau perkebunan. Sifat magnetik sering digunakan sebagai indikator pencemaran dan perkembangan tanah, terutama untuk identifikasi oksida besi tanah dan sifatnya. Untuk memenuhi upaya tersebut dilakukanlah penelitian sifat mineral magnetik tanah sawah di Lawang dan Sokearno Hatta, Malang. Hasil penelitian diperoleh rentang nilai χlf 0,885 – 7,703 ×(10-6m3kg-1). Unsur yang mendominasi pada tanah sawah diantaranya Fe, Si, Al, Ca dengan nilai terendah ada pada Ca sebesar 4,5% dan yang tertinggi adalah unsur Fe sebesar 45,52%. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.17977/um024v3i22018p048

Abstract

Misconception is one of the cause of students' learning difficulties, especially on physics. Misconceptions experienced by students needs to be diagnosed and its results used to improve learning. Its result should be delivered to students to help them learn better, so that these misconceptions can be corrected. In this regard, it should be developed diagnostic instruments which can provide information quickly and accurately one of them is a three-tier test. The aim of this study was to investigate whether the three-tier test able to identify student misconceptions. The sample of this study was 136 students of senior high school in Malang. Besides using written tests, interviews were conducted on several students to verify the results of the three-tier test. Conclusions of this study is the three-tier test that has been developed on Temperature and Heat topic is able to identify misconceptions students quickly and accurately.

Abstract

A number of activities occur around the Cikijing River in Rancaekek area, West Java, such as industrial and domestic activities. The various activities could decrease the quality of the river and surrounding environment due to anthropogenic pollutants that might be produced. Since the Cikijing River is also used as the source of irrigation, paddy fields around the river could be also be affected. The presence of pollutants in river sediments and agricultural soils over a long period could change their magnetic properties. Magnetic susceptibility of Cikijing River sediments and soils of the paddy fields in the surrounding have been examined considering that magnetic properties could represent environmental conditions. The results show that river sediments have magnetic susceptibility (cLF) in range of 356.2-456.3 (×10-8) m3kg-1, whereas soils samples have cLF varying from 94.1 to 347.1 (×10-8) m3kg-1, suggesting domination of ferrimagnetic minerals. The cFD (%) is <4% indicating the anthropogenic origin of magnetic minerals.  Electron microscopy images show the imperfect octahedral and spherules shapes of magnetic grains that supports magnetic susceptibility analysis about the source of magnetic minerals. Abstract

Weathering is a geological phenomenon that is often an important considered because of its destructive properties, mainly in subsurface. Many parameters are used to measure the presence of weathering indications. This study focuses on testing of magnetic susceptibility (c), compound oxide content and Fe3O4/Fe2O3 ratio that have been selected as an indicators of weathering process. This study explains in detail the quantitative analysis of weathering based on these parameters in basaltic andesite rocks found in coastal atmospheric areas. The results obtained for weathered rocks, magnetic susceptibility, compound oxide content such as CaO and the Fe3O4/Fe2O3 ratio has decreased significantly. In the coastal atmosphere, the weathering of basaltic andesite rocks also marked by the distribution of magnetic minerals which tend to be in the domain of pseudo single domain (PSD) or single domain (SD). Thus it can be concluded that both of low frequency magnetic susceptibility (clf), CaO and Fe2O3 content and also the Fe3O4/Fe2O3 ratio can be used as weathering level indicators.Keywords: weathering, andesite, magnetic susceptibility, Fe3O4/Fe2O3 ratio, coastal atmosphere. Pelapukan merupakan fenomena geologi yang sering menjadi pertimbangan penting karena sifatnya destruktif terutama pada bawah permukaan. Banyak parameter yang digunakan untuk mengukur adanya indikasi pelapukan. Penelitian ini berfokus pada pengujian suseptibilitas magnetik (c), kandungan senyawa kimia dan rasio Fe3O4/Fe2O3 yang dipilih menjadi parameter sebagai indikator pelapukan. Penelitian ini menjelaskan secara rinci analisis kuantitatif pelapukan berdasarkan kedua parameter tersebut pada batuan beku basaltik andesit yang terdapat pada area atmosfer pantai. Hasil penelitian didapatkan untuk batuan lapuk, suseptibilitas magnetik, kandungan senyawa kimia CaO dan rasio Fe3O4/Fe2O3 mengalami penurunan. Pada atmosfer pantai batuan basaltik andesit yang mengalami pelapukan juga ditandai oleh distribusi mineral magnetik yang cenderung berdomain pseudo single domain (PSD) maupun single domain (SD). Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa baik suseptibilitas magnetik low frekuensi (clf), kandungan senyawa kimia CaO dan Fe2O3 maupun rasio Fe3O4/Fe2O3 dapat dijadikan sebagai indikator tingkat pelapukan.Katakunci: pelapukan, andesite, suseptibilitas magnetik, rasio Fe3O4/Fe2O3, atmosfer pantai.

Abstract

This research is based on the leadership of the principal who is quite good. In this regard, this study aims to determine the leadership of the principal in increasing teacher professionalism at SMP Negeri 40 Purworejo. This study uses qualitative research that focuses on natural phenomena and is analyzed using logical scientific thinking. As for the technique of data collection in this research, it was obtained through observation, interviews, documentation, and triangulation. Data analysis was carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and data verification then formulating conclusions on the results of the research conducted. There are three things put forward in this study, namely: (1) the managerial ability of the principal in relation to the chief officer in increasing the professionalism of teachers at SMP Negeri 40 Purworejo has been proven to produce vision and mission products for schools that have been implemented properly although not all of them, and to achieve it needed good cooperation with all elements of the school; the role of the school principal to create a harmonious atmosphere in the school environment, by giving teachers assignments according to their main duties and teachers can carry out their duties and responsibilities professionally; provide opportunities for educators to improve their profession; (2) the ability of the school principal's sense of business to improve teacher professionalism, as evidenced by the ability of the school principal to manage education funds, especially in finding sources of education funds to meet the needs of education; (3) the ability of the school principal's sense of education in increasing teacher professionalism, which is proven by the ability of the school principal to carry out mental development, moral development, physical development and artistic development which is carried out in a programmed manner.
