Abstract

Activity sheet is one of the tools that can be used in the learning activities by applying the desired learning steps. The aim of this study is to find out there is an increase in spatial reasoning and self esteem of students after using a scientific-based activity sheet on Geometri Analitik Datar subject. This type of research is one-group pretest-posttets design conducted by researchers before and after scientific-based activity sheets as treatment of this research. The subjects of this study were the second semester students who are learning Geometri Analitik Datar course consisted of 30 students. The research instruments used ware spatial reasoning test in the form of multiple choice tests and a self esteem questionnaire. The technical analysis used were a descriptive analysis and N-Gain analysis. The result of the research on spatial reasoning shows the pretest average score is 58.83 and the posttest average score is 76.17. It means that there is a significant increasing result between pretest and posttest that is 17.34. While the result of self esteem shows the pretest average score is 52.07 and the posttest average score is 73.60. It means that there is a significant increasing result in self esteem result that is 21.53. The results of the spatial reasoning and self esteem gain distribution range, both of them included medium criteria, that is 80%. Thus it can be concluded that the spatial reasoning and self esteem of students increases after applying learning using a scientific approach based activity sheet.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kondisi banyak mahasiswa yang memiliki hobi bermain game online yang berdampak pada hasil belajar mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) hubungan kecanduan game online dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis dan (2) hubungan kecanduan game online dan self-regulation mahasiswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian survey dengan pendekatan korelasional menggunakan subjek penelitian pemain game online dari mahasiswa Universitas Muhammadiyah Tangerang yang diberi angket kecanduan game online dan didapatkan 14 orang untuk diberikan form lanjutan berupa soal berpikir kreatif matematis dan angket self-regulation. Berdasarkan hasil uji korelasi Spearman menunjukan: (1) nilai signifikansi kecanduan game online dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis = 0.071 (a > 0.05) maka tidak ada hubungan antara kecanduan game online dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis; (2) nilai signifikansi kecanduan game online dan self-regulation = 0.003 (a < 0.05) dan koefisien korelasi = -0.728, maka terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kecanduan game online dengan self-regulation mahasiswa dan koefisien korelasinya bernilai negatif artinya hubungan yang berbanding terbalik yakni semakin tinggi tingkat kecanduan game online maka semakin rendah self-regulation tersebut.

Abstract

Understanding mathematical concept is one of ability to rediscover knowledge that has been obtained, both orally and a written. The purpose of this research was to compare the ability to understand mathematical concept of student who taught with the PACE (Project, Activity, Cooperative, Exercise) learning model and conventional learning model. A quass-experimental design combined with experimental method purposed in this research. The population in this research were all students of class XI SMA 15 Kota Tangerang by taking a sample of 2 classes, that is class MIPA 5 as an experimental class and class MIPA 2 as an control class. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used a test of the ability to understand mathematical concepts. Mann Whitney test is used to test the hypothesis. The results of this research are students’s ability to understand a mathematical concepts taught with a PACE learning model higher than conventional learning models.
