Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to find out the improvement of 5-6-year old children gross motor ability at RA Kurnia Panam by using traditional game hopscotch. This research was a classroom action research which was conducted in two cycles. The instrument used was the observation sheet form. The total sample was 14 children that consist of 8 boys and 6 girls. Based on the analysis of the assessment process, there was an improvement in those two cycles.The research results were very satisfying because there were significant average scores improvement before the treatment from the first cycle to the second cycle. The improvement of the average scores was from 38,92 to 50,59 with the percentage 29,98 % and from 50,59% to 70,7% with the percentage 39,77 %. It can be concluded that the learning process by using traditional game have positive effects for children and it can improve the children motor ability.

Abstract

This research aims to find out about: 1) The process of determining the day for Javanese selapanan in Batu village, Pitumpanua sub-district, Wajo district; 2) The process of implementing selapanan in Batu village, Pitumpanua sub-district, Wajo district; 3) The meaning and function of selapanan for the Javanese community in Batu village, Pitumpanua subdistrict, Wajo district. In this research, researchers used descriptive qualitative research. The informants chosen were Javanese people who live in Batu village, Pitumpanua subdistrict, Wajo district. The researchers collected data by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the research show that there are: 1) Selapanan traditions in Batu Village, Pitumpanua District, Wajo Regency, carried out when the baby reaches the age of 35 days or one month; 2) The process of implementing selapanan is carried out when the baby is 35 days old, inviting guests, preparation, distribution of bancaan; 3) The meaning of selapanan is as a celebration of the birth of a baby asking for protection, and hope for good growth, the function of selapanan is as a means of asking for prayers so that the baby will be given protection and smooth growth.

Abstract

PGSD students of Madako Tolitoli University generally still experience obstacles in communicating effectively, especially in their social environment. This is a crucial challenge in the process of forming their communication skills as prospective educators in elementary schools. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the strategy of developing students' communication skills in the social context of experimentation as a learning strategy in improving students' communication skills. This study uses an experimental contextual study method, which analyzes the impact of implementing real-life based strategies. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of five students in the sixth semester of PGSD Madako Tolitoli University who were selected purposively. The results of this study show that students' communication skills in the experimental social context are applied with the strategy of open thematic discussion forums (87.88%), social interaction simulations (83.66%), and collaborative studies across study programs (84.21%). The results of each of these findings had a good impact on improving students' communication skills after they were involved in social experiment activities. Contributively, these findings can be used as an alternative learning strategy that is effective in developing the communication skills of PGSD students at Madako Tolitoli University.
