Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar hemoglobin, hematokrit, dan eritrosit burung puyuh jantan umur 0-5 minggu yang diberi tambahan kotoran walet dalam ransum. Materi yang digunakan dalam Penelitian ini adalah 200 ekor burung puyuh jantan umur 1 hari dengan bobot hidup rata-rata 7 gram. Pakan yang digunakan disusun pakan setandar dan ditambah kotoran walet sebanyak 3%, 6%, 9%, dan 12%. Kandang yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kandang ”koloni” , terbagi menjadi 20 unit dengan ukuran 40×34×26 cm3 per unit untuk 10 ekor puyuh. Rancangan percobaan yang dipergunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan yang digunakan adalah T0= ransum tanpa kotoran walet; T1= ransum mengandung 3% kotoran walet; T2= ransum mengandung 6% kotoran walet; T3= ransum mengandung 9% kotoran walet; T4= ransum mengandung 12% kotoran walet. Parameter yang diamati adalah kadar hemoglobin, hematokrit dan eritrosit. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penambahan kotoran walet dalam ransum tidak berpengaruh terhadap rataan parameter yang diukur, dimana rata-rata yang diperoleh T0, T1, T2, T3 dan T4 berturut-turut untuk hemoglobin masing-masing adalah 9; 9,825; 8,825; 7,325; 6,625 (mg/dl) . hematokrit adalah 23,5; 23,5; 23,25; 24 dan 22,75 (%). Eritrosit adalah 3,013; 3,275; 2,900; 2,513 dan 2,210 (j/ml). Simpulan dari penelitian ini, penggunaan kotoran welet dalam ransum sampai tingkat 12% tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kadar hemoglobin, hematokrit, dan eritrosit.Kata kunci : Burung puyuh; Kotoran walet; Status kesehatanABSTRACTThis research was obtained to investigate the level of hemoglobin, hematokrit, and eritrosit of male quails of 0 – 5 weeks old which is supplemented by swallow filth on ration. Materiall were used on this research are 200 1 day old of male quails (average body weight is 7 gram). The ratiatia used standard ra as feed and swallow filth as supplementation. The quails are kept on “colony” cage, which is separate into 20 units (the size is 40×34×26 cm). Each unit is consistay 10 quails. This research used completely random design with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments were arranged below: T0 = control (ration without supplementation) T1 = ration + 3% of swallow filth T2 = ration + 6% of swallow filth T3 = ration + 9% of swallow filth T4 = ration + 12% of swallow filth Parameter were observed are level of hemoglobin, hematokrit and eritrosit. The rescelt shown that suplementation of swallon fith didn’t inflected the parameters. The average of hemoglobin level for T0, T1, T2, T3 and T4 respectively is 9; 9,825; 8,825; 7,325; 6,625 (g/dl). The average of hematokrit level is 23,5; 23,5; 23,25; 24 and 22,75 (%). The average of eritrosit level is 3,013; 3,275; 2,900; 2,513 and 2,210 (j/ml). The conclusion of this research show that the used of swallow filth supplementation on ration up to 12% didn’t affect on hemoglobin, hematokrit, and eritosit level of male quails.Keywords : Quails; Swallow filth; Lead state

Abstract

The study was conducted to evaluate the effect of duration feeding of Spirulina platensis as a prebiotic in ration on the red blood cells of broiler chickens. The material used in this study was 240 day old chick (DOC) with average of initial weight 42.015 ± 0.219 g. The experiment was designed based on Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treated treatments were T0 (Feed Basal + 0.04% Zinc Bacitracin), T1 (Basal diet + 1% Spirulina platensis for 7 days administration), T2 (Basal diet + 1% Spirulina platensis for 21 days of administration) and T3 (Feed Basal + 1% Spirulina platensis for 35 days of administration). Measured variables include total erythrocytes, hemoglobin, percentage of hematocrit, and erythrocyte index values (MCV, MCH, MCHC). Data were analyzed by variance test (F test) and if there was a significant difference then continued with Duncan’s multiple range test. The results showed that there was significant differences (P <0.05) between treatments on total erythrocytes, and no significant differences (P> 0.05) between treatments on hemoglobin levels, hematocrit percentage, and erythrocyte index values (MCV, MCH, MCHC). It concluded that the feeding of Spirulina platensis for 35 days in ration can reduce total broiler erythrocytes and feeding S. platensis as a prebiotic given for 7 or 21 days of administration gives the same result as giving AGPs (Antibiotics Growth Promoters) seen from the broiler's red blood profile.
