Abstract

Reciting Barzanji is a tradition that has long practiced among Muslim community, and performed in special ceremony or occasion. Even though the books known as Barzanji, in fact the origin title is ‘Iqd al-Jawahir (the strands of jewels), as the Prophet himself. Barzanji refer to the author Syekh Ja’far ibn Hasan ibn Abdul Karim ibn Muhammad al-Barzanji (1690 -1763 M) a sufi scholar, whose born in Madinah and relate to Barzan (Kurdistan) tribe. Based on the content, the author of barzanji present Islamic knowledge regarding with the life of Prophet (sirah). In Aceh, particularly in Julok distric East Aceh, the famous hand book of barzanji called Majmu’ah Maulud Syaraf al-Anam. That book written and recited in arabic, and that must be an issue wheather local people understand or not toward the content. Therefore this article obtain to figure out the barzanji tradition toward people knowledge of religious understanding effectivenessly. This research apply field research method, which is observation and interview used as the tool for collecting the data.  From observation and interview find out reciting barzanji tradition in Julok district, East Aceh that practised by local people is not in line with their understanding of Islamic knowledge. Whereas the tradition for them as a ceremony, entertainment, gathering and hospitality.

Abstract

The Prophet is the model of spirit for the world. His God-consciousness, deep spiritualism, acts of worship, and love for Allah are preserved and propagated by an Islamic science called Tasawwuf (Sufism). The esoteric teachings of Tasawwuf (Sufism) which purification of the heart are transmitted from Muhammad to those who had the capacity to acquire the direct experiential gnosis of God, which is passed on from teacher to student through the centuries. Different devotional styles and traditions developed over the time, reflected the perspectives of different masters and the accumulated cultural wisdom of the orders. Typically all of these concern themselves with the understanding of subtle knowledge and education of the heart to purify it and to find the love of God.

Abstract

Human love is nature from God. Mahabbah or love for fellow human beings in the form of love for parents, children, husband and wife and relatives is something that is natural, because of closeness and other emotional relationships. Moreover, love for them is based on love for Allah swt. However, all of this is forbidden if love for those closest to him turns him away from Allah, making him close his eyes in distinguishing between right and wrong. On the basis of this thought, it is necessary to study how to place the love of fellow human beings in accordance with the instructions of the Qur'an. The results of this paper indicate that love for fellow human beings both for parents, children, husband and wife and relatives in Islam is highly recommended, but if this love makes someone associate partners with Allah, commit immorality and disobey the Messenger of Allah, then love for fellow humans is not justified. Rasa cinta yang dimiliki manusia merupakan suatu fitrah dari Allah. Maḥabbah atau cinta sesama manusia berupa cinta kepada orang tua, anak, suami istri dan sanak saudara sesuatu yang alami, karena kedekatan dan hubungan emosional lainnya. Apalagi cinta kepada mereka didasari pada cinta kepada Allah swt. Akan tetapi, semua itu dilarang jika dengan cinta kepada orang-orang terdekat membuatnya berpaling dari Allah, membuat mata dia tertutup dalam membedakan antara yang benar dan yang salah. Atas dasar pemikiran inilah perlu dikaji bagaimana menempatkan cinta sesama manusia yang sesuai dengan petunjuk al-Qur’an. Hasil penulisan ini menunjukkan bahwa cinta sesama manusia baik kepada orang tua, anak, suami istri maupun sanak saudara di dalam Islam sangat dianjurkan, namun apabila cinta ini membuat seseorang menyekutukan Alah, berbuat maksiat serta ingkar kepada Rasulullah, maka rasa cinta kepada sesama manusia tidak dibenarkan.

Abstract

Judaism is one of the terms mentioned in the Koran. This paper specifically examines the Jewish pronunciation in terms of its use and the context in which it is mentioned in the Qur'an. The study was conducted using a qualitative approach with the type of literature study. The collected data were analyzed by the content analysis method. The results of the analysis show that the use of Jewish pronunciation in the Koran is quite diverse. The Hebrew word and its derivatives are mentioned 30 times. Jewish pronunciation consists of six forms. Respectively اليهود (al-yahūd),  يهوديا(yahūdiyā), هادوا (hādū), هدنا (hudnā),  هود(hūdun), and lafaz  هودا(hūdā). Jewish words in the Koran are mentioned in various contexts. It is sometimes mentioned in the context of the conflict between Jews and Christians, the prohibition of Muslims from choosing a leader from the Jews, the strict attitude of the Jews, claiming to be children and lovers of Allah, the disobedience of the Jews to the Koran, and in the context of the Jews being the most hostile to Islam. Yahudi merupakan salah satu istilah yang disebutkan dalam Alquran. Tulisan ini secara khusus meneliti lafaz Yahudi dalam kaitan dengan penggunaan dan konteks penyebutannya dalam Alquran. Kajian dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi pustaka. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan metode analisis isi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan lafaz Yahudi dalam Alquran cukup beragam. Lafaz Yahudi dan turunannya disebutkan sebanyak 30 kali. Lafaz Yahudi terdiri dari enam bentuk. Masing-masing اليهود (al-yahūd), يهوديا (yahūdiyā), هادوا (hādū), هدنا (hudnā), هود (hūdun), dan lafaz هودا (hūdā). Lafaz Yahudi dalam Alquran disebutkan dalam beragam konteks. Adakalanya disebutkan dalam konteks pertentangan antara Yahudi dengan Nasrani, larangan Muslim memilih pemimpin dari Yahudi, sikap keras Yahudi, mengaku sebagai anak dan kekasih Allah, kedurhakaan orang Yahudi terhadap Alquran, dan dalam konteks Yahudi merupakan pihak yang paling memusuhi Islam.

Abstract

Women's leadership is kind of women's participation in community leading intellectually and emotionally, which is contribute their energy, thoughts, and material to realize a certain goal. Therefore, in history, women’s leadership come up as a significant issue until now days from local and global approach. However women leader especially in Aceh Besar District founded very rare, particularly the position as a village leader.  To figure out the problem, this study try to describe the philosophical values in society toward women's leadership, and to find out the perception of the people of Darussalam Subdistrict, Aceh Besar Regency around the issue.  In this sense, as a field research this research apply a qualitative type of research by using data collection techniques such as documentation, observation.and direct interviews. The results showed that the value of the philosophy of women's leadership displayed from the understanding of the community toward position of a woman, where women also have rights and freedoms in carrying out their obligations. Hence, women have important foundations in family life, organizations and the community.AbstrakKepemimpinan perempuan merupakan suatu bentuk keikutsertaan perempuan dalam memimpin secara intelektual serta emosional dalam suatu kelompok yang dapat memberikan sumbangan yang baik dalam bentuk tenaga, pikiran, maupun materiil guna untuk dapat mewujudkan suatu tujuan tertentu. Kepemimpinan perempuan khususnya di Kabupaten Aceh Besar, kepala desa yang dipimpin oleh perempuan menjadi hal yang sangat jarang dijumpai. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini yaitu mendeskripsikan nilai filosofis dalam kepemimpinan perempuan, serta mengetahui persepsi masyarakat Kecamatan Darussalam Kabupaten Aceh Besar terhadap kepemimpinan perempuan. Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif yang berbasis penelitian lapangan, serta menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data, wawancara langsung dengan masyarakat Kecamatan Darussalam Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Selain itu, teknik pengumpulan data lainnya seperti dokumentasi dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai filosofi kepemimpinan perempuan dapat dilihat dari pemahaman masyarakat yaitu terletak pada kedudukan seorang perempuan. Dimana perempuan juga mempunyai hak dan kebebasan dalam menjalankan kewajibannya, serta Perempuan tidak lagi dipandang sebagai sosok yang lemah, akan tetapi memiliki fondasi penting dalam kehidupan keluarga, organisasi maupun lingkungan masyarakat.

Abstract

The seven grades (Marataib al-Sab’ah) very closed associated with Muhammad Fadhl Allah al-Burhanpuri, an Indian Sufi scholar through his Tuhfah al-Mursalah ila Ruh al-Nabi. Written di Arabic Tuhfah al-Mursalah’s circled around India and also popularize in Mecca Madina and Malay word afterward.  Burhanpuri and Tuhfah al-Mursalah many times mention in numerous manuscripts written in Arab Jawi, which identified from his principles mostly from ‘alam jawi (Nusantara) around 16-17 century. Some of them Shams al-Din al-Sumatra’i, Hamzah al-Fansuri, Nur al-Din al-Raniry and ‘Abd al-Ra’uf al-Singkili. Afterward, these principles, identically Maratib al-Sab’ah in Malay world known as Martabat Tujuh. The main point suggested by Burhanpuri, an explaration toward Ibn ‘Arabi’s idea wahdah al-wujud. Maratib al-Sab’ah considered as the proper medium to attain Ibn ‘Arabi’s Oneness of Being and relate it with the Qur’an perspective and as well as Hadits point of view on certain explanation in his Tuhfah al-Mursalah.

Abstract

The Quran, serving as a guiding principle for Muslims' lives, provides comprehensive rules regarding life in this world and the hereafter. Described as “al-Shifa” or a healing remedy, the Quran plays a crucial role as a cure for all ailments, both physical and spiritual. Mental therapy emerges as a vital aspect in maintaining life balance and addressing mental disorders. This article aims to explore the role of Quranic verses as a method of mental therapy at the Islamic Therapy Center (ITC) in Banda Aceh. The study employs a qualitative method with field research. Data are obtained through observations and in-depth interviews at ITC Banda Aceh. The study reveals that mental therapy at ITC involves Quranic verses as a means of treatment closely tailored to the patients' level of disturbance. Cases ranging from mild to severe disorders are addressed through the recitation of adapted ruqyah verses. The study concludes that Quranic-based mental therapy at ITC Banda Aceh is effective in addressing various mental disorders, leading to physical and mental improvements post-ruqyah therapy. Positive impacts include increased faith, inner peace, and a deeper spiritual understanding. Thus, this approach can be considered an alternative in addressing the mental health of the community.Abstrak: Al-Qur'an, sebagai petunjuk hidup umat Muslim, memberikan aturan paripurna terkait kehidupan dunia dan akhirat. Al-Qur'an dijelaskan sebagai “al-Syifā” atau obat penawar, memegang peran penting sebagai penyembuh segala penyakit, baik fisik maupun rohani. Terapi mental menjadi aspek penting dalam menjaga keseimbangan hidup dan mengatasi gangguan jiwa. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi peran ayat-ayat Al-Qur'an sebagai metode terapi mental di Islamic Therapy Center (ITC) Banda Aceh. Kajian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan studi lapangan. Data diperoleh melalui observasi dan wawancara mendalam di ITC Banda Aceh. Kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa terapi mental di ITC melibatkan ayat-ayat Al-Qur'an sebagai sarana pengobatan dan terkait erat pada tingkat gangguan pasien. Kasus-kasus seperti gangguan ringan, sedang, hingga berat, semuanya ditangani dengan membaca ayat-ayat ruqyah yang disesuaikan. Kajian ini menyimpulkan bahwa terapi mental berbasis Al-Qur'an di ITC Banda Aceh efektif dalam mengatasi berbagai gangguan jiwa. Pasien mengalami perbaikan fisik dan mental setelah menjalani terapi ruqyah. Dampak positif ini mencakup peningkatan keimanan, ketenangan jiwa, dan pemahaman spiritual yang lebih dalam. Dengan demikian, pendekatan ini dapat dijadikan alternatif dalam merawat kesehatan mental masyarakat.

Abstract

Man Ra’ani fi al-Manam Fasayarani fi al-Yaqdhah was the popular hadits examined the blessed for those who sees the Prophet PBUH in a dream, indeed will see him while awake. It’s seems likewise a clue that each person in each generation blessed the same experience with whom saw him in his life relatively. In addition, this hadits prevalently discuss in Sufism writings and literatures. One of them is Sirr al-Asrar wa Madhhar al-Anwar a masterpiece work written by Shaikh ‘Abd al-Qadir al-Jaylany. This research exercise to find the examination of Shaikh ‘Abd al-Qadir toward the hadits from Sufis tradition approach. Chapter twenty second in Sirr al-Asrar elaborated in detail the evidence proven of dream and waking fullness. Syaikh ‘Abd Qadir al-Jaylani recorded from various hadits that the truthfull dream obviously one of indication of prophetic. He affirmed the limitations belong to the truthfull dream (ru’yat al-shalihat) experienced esotericly by each inner faculties such as al-qalb, al-nafs and al-ruh throught precious vision. Instead the experience also symbolized lower character in particular despicable visions. This kind of method applied for truthull reality restrictly.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the concept of tauhid (Islamic monotheism) according to Imam Al-Asy’ari as elaborated in the book Faridat al-Farāid fi ilmi al-‘Aqāid by Sheikh Wan Ahmad bin Muhammad Zayn , highlighting its relevance to the Islamic educational tradition in the Malay world. The study employs a descriptive-analytical method using a qualitative approach grounded in library research. The Faridat al-Farāid serves as the primary source, while secondary sources include theological references and scholarly works related to Imam Al-Asy’ari's concept of tauhid. The findings indicate that Imam Al-Asy’ari’s tauhid as presented in the Faridat al-Farāid encompasses three main aspects—dzāt (essence), sifat (attributes), and af’al (acts)—which are explained through 13 obligatory attributes, 13 impossible attributes, and one permissible attribute of Allah SWT. The book adopts a detailed (tafsili) approach to strengthen the understanding of tauhid while bridging textual and rational arguments in line with the Asy’ari school of thought. Furthermore, the book’s relevance lies in its role as a theological guide for traditional Islamic education in the Malay world, integrating textual and rational pedagogies. This study concludes that the Faridat al-Farāid not only reflects Imam Al-Asy’ari’s theological thought but also significantly contributes to Islamic education. Future studies are recommended to explore the application of Asy’ariyah theology in addressing contemporary challenges.

Abstract

The khirqah is a significant element in Sufi traditions, symbolizing spiritual initiation and the transmission of esoteric knowledge. However, its origins remain debated, particularly regarding its connection to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through Imam ‘Ali and Hasan al-Basri. Some scholars affirm this lineage, while others argue that khirqah was a later development within Sufi circles rather than a direct prophetic practice. This study employs a qualitative approach, analyzing classical Sufi literature, historical records, and hadith collections. Key hadith narrations related to the bestowal of garments, such as the Prophet (PBUH) clothing Ummu Khalid and Uwais al-Qarni receiving robes from Imam ‘Ali and Umar ibn al-Khattab, have been used to validate khirqah’s legitimacy. However, critics contend that these narrations reflect acts of generosity rather than structured initiatic bestowals. By the 14th century, khirqah evolved beyond a physical robe into a symbol of spiritual affiliation within Sufi orders (tariqas). Despite these debates, khirqah remains central to Sufi identity, signifying spiritual authority, ethical discipline, and lineage transmission. Scholars such as Ibn ‘Arabi emphasized that khirqah represents inner purification rather than merely an external garment.
