Abstract

Introductions: One of the reasons for the painful labor experience is the psychological factor, such as fear and excessive anxiety, which can intensify the perception of pain and potentially lead to complications during childbirth. To address this issue, Hypnobirthing Therapy is often employed as a method to help manage and reduce pain and anxiety during labor. Objectives: To assess the impact of Hypnobirthing Therapy on pain intensity during childbirth at TPMB Regional Health Center Sidamulya in Cirebon Regency in the year 2023. Methods: This study employs a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consists of 30 women who are giving birth during phase I of active labor, selected using a purposive sampling technique. The intervention involves providing mothers with a 10-minute guided session using a cellphone during labor. Bivariate analysis will be conducted using a paired T-test. Results: Univariate results show that, before receiving Hypnobirthing Therapy, the majority of mothers experienced severe pain intensity, accounting for 27 respondents (90%), while the remaining 14 individuals (46.7%) reported experiencing current pain intensity. The Wilcoxon test yielded a p-value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05, indicating a statistically significant difference. Conslussions: Hypnobirthing Therapy is effective in reducing the intensity of pain during childbirth. In this context, midwives are expected to administer labor care by offering Hypnobirthing Therapy to mothers. This helps mothers relax and feel comfortable, ultimately preparing them for a normal childbirth experience.

Abstract

Academic stress is a condition of psychological pressure experienced by students in response to excessive or sustained academic demands. Emotional eating refers to eating behavior triggered by emotional states rather than physiological hunger, and is used to obtain emotional comfort or alleviate emotional distress. Undergraduate nursing students are a population particularly vulnerable to academic stress due to the demands of mastering nursing concepts and theories, clinical practice, intensive academic evaluations, and social expectations. These conditions may influence students’ eating behaviors, increase the tendency toward emotional eating, disrupt eating patterns, and negatively affect overall health. This study aimed to examine the relationship between the level of academic stress and emotional eating among undergraduate nursing students at STIKes Muhammadiyah Ciamis. This study employed a quantitative analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, resulting in a total of 153 respondents. The research instruments were The Perception of Academic Stress Scale (PASS) and the Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire (DEBQ). The study was conducted from September to November 2025. The results showed that the majority of students experienced moderate levels of academic stress (146 respondents; 95.4%) and moderate levels of emotional eating (84 respondents; 54.9%). Data analysis using the alternative Chi-Square test, namely Fisher’s Exact Test, yielded a p-value of 0.006 (p < 0.05), while the Linear-by-Linear Association test yielded a p-value of 0.043 (p < 0.05). The findings indicate a significant relationship between academic stress and emotional eating among undergraduate nursing students. These results suggest that higher levels of academic stress are associated with a greater tendency toward emotional eating.

Abstract

Introduction: Young children have extraordinary learning abilities, especially in early childhood. The function of stimulus for early childhood is to provide various efforts for children's basic knowledge. The digestive system is one of the vital organ systems that processes food into substances useful for children's growth, energy, and health, so a basic understanding of this system is relevant to introduce from an early age. Through creative, interactive, and fun educational strategies supported by innovative learning media and age-appropriate scientific approaches, it is hoped that children can build a better understanding of the human digestive system and sustainable healthy living behaviors. Objective: The objectives of this community service program are to improve children's basic knowledge of anatomy and the digestive system, encourage children's interest in learning and curiosity about science, develop basic health awareness in children from an early age, and provide support and resources to teachers in teaching science creatively. Method: The methods used in implementing this activity were lectures, discussions, question and answer sessions, and demonstrations with 168 participants aged 5-6 years old on average. Result: The implementation of the activity showed that preschool children at MGI Ciamis Kindergarten responded very positively to the material introducing the anatomy of the body and the digestive system. After being educated through play-based learning methods, demonstrations using anatomical models, visual media, and picture stories, there was a gradual increase in the children's understanding. Conclusion: The community service program has been successfully implemented and has made a positive contribution to improving early childhood understanding of the human body and the digestive system. In addition to benefiting children, this community service program has also benefited teachers and the school environment, particularly in enriching basic health and science teaching methods and media at the preschool level.

Abstract

Introduction: Early reproductive health education is an important aspect of improving children's understanding of the body, biological functions, and self-protection. However, the persistence of taboos in society leads to low knowledge of the reproductive system among elementary school children. This community service aims to improve students' knowledge and understanding of the male reproductive system, awareness of maintaining reproductive organ hygiene, and understanding of body boundaries as an effort to prevent sexual violence. Objective: This community service aims to improve students' knowledge and understanding of the male reproductive system, awareness of maintaining reproductive organ hygiene, and understanding of body boundaries as an effort to prevent sexual violence. Method: This activity uses a descriptive design with a participatory educational approach involving 17 students aged 9-10 years at SDIT MGI Ciamis. The methods used include interactive lectures and demonstrations with learning media in the form of props (phantoms). Result: The results showed a significant increase in the average score from 65 (pre-test) to 85 (post-test), which indicates the effectiveness of the demonstration method in improving students' understanding. Qualitatively, students showed high enthusiasm, active participation, and increased awareness of the importance of maintaining body hygiene and boundaries. Thus, reproductive system education through an interactive and age-appropriate approach has proven effective in improving students' knowledge and positive attitudes. Conclusion: Reproductive system education through an interactive, age-appropriate approach has proven effective in increasing students' knowledge and positive attitudes. This activity recommends the ongoing integration of reproductive health education into the elementary school curriculum as a promotional and preventive measure against health risks and sexual violence toward children.
