Abstract

Oxytetracycline (OTC) was widely used antibiotic in agricultural industry. However, most of them were secreted from the body and entered the water stream, due to low absorption. The occurrence of the antibiotics in water stream may led to serious health hazards. Hence, finding the effective method that capable to achieve total mineralization of antibiotic-contaminated wastewater, followed by the production of benign inorganic and organic by-product, was necessarily deemed. Photochemical degradation method, such as: UV/H2O2 system, was capable to achieve total mineralization of OTC at its optimized condition. In this paper, inorganic by-products of OTC mineralization inside a UV/H2O2 system at its optimum condition were analyzed. The presence of nitrate, ammonium, chloride ions, and chlorine were detected at the sample solution after mineralization. The presence of these inorganic by-product has proven that the experimental setup chosen was capable to achieve total mineralization. In addition, possible routes of the inorganic by-products detachment from the OTC’s structure, were also presented. Copyright © 2021 by Authors, Published by BCREC Group. Abstract

Sarana pembelajaran seperti laborotarium kimia, merupakan salahsatu sarana yang dapat menunjang tingkat kepahaman siswa akanmateri yang disampaikan di kelas. Akan tetatpi,. kurangnya saranapembelajaran, seperti laboratorium ini,merupakan salah satupermasalahan yang umumnya dihadapi oleh satuan pendidikan diIndonesia. Oleh karena itu, pemanfaatan sumber daya alam danbahan-bahan yang mudah ditemui di sekitar lokasi sekolahmerupakan salah satu jalan yang dapat ditempuh oleh penyelenggarasatuan pendidikan. Pada kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat(PkM) ini, berusaha disajikan alternatif kegiatan praktikum yangdapat dilakukan dilakukan di ruang kelas, dengan menggunakanperalatan dan bahan-bahan yang dapat ditemukan di sekitar siswa.Kasus pembelajaran yang digunakan adalah pembelajaran kimia,yaitu materi asam-basa yang dipelajari pada tingkat SMA kelas IX.Kegiatan PkM ini dilaksanakan pada SMAN 1 Wonosari, Klatenkelas IX-IPA. Siswa diberikan pelatihan tentang pembuatan larutanindikator dari ekstrak sayuran kol ungu (Brassica oleracea L.,)dengan menggunakan metode ekstraksi panas. Larutan ekstrak yangdihasilkan mengandung antosianin yang sensitif terhadap perubahanpH larutan sampel bahan kimia yang umum ditemukan di rumahsiswa, seperti, air berkarbonat, air mineral, larutan soda kue danlarutan pemutih pakaian. Dari kegiatan yang dilakukan, larutanindikator berbahan dasar ekstrak kol ungu, merupakan indikatoryang sensitif untuk mendeteksi pH larutan, baik larutan dengan pHasam, netral dan basa. Dengan diadakannya kegiatan PkM inimembuktikan bahwa dengan bahan, peralatan dan langkah-langkahyang sederhana, metode pembelajaran praktikum dapatdilaksanakan, sehingga pemahamann dan minat siswa akan materipembelajaran di kelas dapat ditingkatkan.

Abstract

Glycerol, a byproduct of the transesterification reaction has a wide range of applications. Acetylation is a promising method for converting surplus glycerol into mono-, di-, and tri-acetin, which is used in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical, polymer, and fuel additive sectors. The kind of catalyst and reaction conditions influence glycerol conversion and acetylation selectivity. Acetylation of glycerol was performed in this study by reacting acetic acid and glycerol with a graphene oxide catalyst produced using the Hummers method. The amount of graphene oxide catalyst (3%, 5%, and 7%) in the reaction mixture was adjusted to see how it affected glycerol conversion and reaction product selectivity. Other variables such as the glycerol:acetic acid mole ratio of 1:9, reaction temperature of 120oC, stirring speed of 1000 rpm, and reaction time of 120 minutes were held constant. Glycerol conversion improves with increasing catalyst mass in the reaction mixture, with the highest conversion (92.1%) achieved when employing a 7% catalyst mass, with its selectivity to monoacetin, diacetin, and triacetin being 70.2%, 4.2%, and 25.6%, respectively.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pengabdian Masyarakat Pemberdayaan Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) merupakan rangkaian pengabdian masyarakat yang terdiri dari 6 kali pertemuan. Pertemuan I dan Pertemuan II dilaksanakan pada tanggal 5 Agustus 2023 di Balai Desa Mertan, Bendosari, Sukoharjo. Pengabdian Masyarakat PKM diikuti oleh 10 ibu Tim Penggerak (TP) PKK Desa Mertan, Bendosari, Sukoharjo. Tujuan dari Pengabdian Masyarakat ini adalah memberikan pendampingan pembuatan sabun mandi cair bentonit sebagai produk unggulan TP PKK Desa Mertan Sukoharjo. Metode pengabdian masyarakat terdiri dari 3 tahap yaitu tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan, dan tahap evaluasi efektivitas kegiatan. pengabdian masyarakat. Tahap persiapan dilaksanakan dengan koordinasi awal untuk memaksimalkan kegiatan dan menargetkan penyampaian materi, praktik dan pelatihan. Tahap pelaksanaan dilaksanakan dalam 3 sesi yaitu memperkenalkan tentang teori pembuatan sabun mandi cair, pengenalan bahan-bahan pembuatan sabun mandi cair, dan praktik pembuatan sabun mandi cair anti najis dengan menggunakan bentonit. Evaluasi pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan dengan menggunakan pre-test dan post-test. Berdasarkan hasil post-test diperoleh hasil terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan peserta pengabdian masyarakat sebesar 100%.Abstract: The Community Partnership Empowerment Community Service (PKM) is a series of community services consisting of 6 meetings. In the first and second meeting held on 5 August 2023 in Mertan Village Hall, Bendosari, Sukoharjo. Community services is followed by 10 members of Family Welfare Development Mertan Village, Bendosari, Sukoharjo. The aim of this community service is to provide assistance in making bentonite liquid bath soap as a featured product for TP PKK Mertan Sukoharjo Village. Community services consist of three methods namely preparation, implementation, and evaluation steps. The preparation stage is carried out with initial coordination to maximize activities and target the delivery of material, practice and training. The implementation phase was carried out in 3 sessions, namely introducing the theory of making liquid bath soap, introducing the ingredients for making liquid bath soap, and the practice of making anti-unclean liquid bath soap using bentonite. Evaluation of community service is carried out using pre-test and post-test. Based on the post-test results, it was found that there was an increase in the knowledge of community service participants by 100%.

Abstract

Pengabdian Masyarakat telah dilaksanakan pada tanggal 12 Agustus 2023 diikuti oleh 10 ibu-ibu TP PKK Desa Mertan, Bendosari, Sukoharjo. Pengabdian masyarakat dilaksanakan di Balai Desa Mertan, Bendosari, Sukoharjo. Ada 3 materi yang disampaikan yaitu promosi online, dan praktek promosi online. Pada materi I dijelaskan tentang pentingnya pengelolaan keuangan yang terdiri dari memisahkan uang pribadi dan uang usaha, menganggarkan keuangan dengan baik, memiliki dana darurat, proteksi pendapatan dan tempat usaha, serta diversifikasi dan ekspansi usaha. Pada materi II dijelaskan tentang promosi online yang terdiri sosial media marketing, video marketing, dan email marketing sebagai metode yang dapat digunakan untuk promosi secara online. Materi III adalah praktik promosi online. Dalam praktik ini dilakukan dengan cara mengambil gambar dan mendesign dengan Canva produk pengabdian masyarakat berupa sabun mandi cair bentonite, serta mengunggah ke instagram.

Abstract

This Community Service Program aims to improve the competitiveness of batik SMEs in Desa Jarum, Klaten, by adopting environmentally friendly digital technology and supporting the regeneration of young batik artisans. The implementation method includes digital marketing training, financial management, batik training, and batik waste management. The partners involved are Paguyuban ARUMCAWERASA, the Government of Desa Jarum, and BUMDes Jarum, with participants predominantly female (80%) and aged between 25-50 years. Evaluation and monitoring were carried out through pre- and post-training surveys, observations, and interviews. The results showed an 85% increase in participants' knowledge and skills, as well as a 15-20% increase in batik product sales within one month. This program successfully introduced digital technology for marketing and business management while supporting the regeneration of young batik artisans. In conclusion, this program has provided a positive impact on the Batik SMEs of Desa Jarum and can serve as a model for SME development based on technology in the digital era.
