Abstract

Borax is an additive that is often added to some foods such as meatball skewers. The government has banned this ingredient from being added to food because it is harmful to health when consumed for a long time. This study aims to identify the use of borax in Bakso Tusuk or meatball skewers sold in Bantul area. Samples were drawn from 17 sub-districts in Bantul, Special Region of Yogyakarta. Two samples were taken from each sub-district, so the number of total samples was 34. The speed of decay test was carried out by observing the appearance of fungus, maggots, and consistency of the surface of meatball skewers. The presence of borax in the meatball skewers was done by turmeric paper and flame test, while the quantitative analysis utilized the acid-base titration method. Based on the results of the study, all samples tested positive for borax with concentrations between 0.06% - 5.15%, and the decay rate test showed that the speed of decay was independent of the level of borax.

Abstract

Competent human resources such as doctors, nurses, pharmacists and others will improve the patient safety of a hospital. To assess the competence of hospital human resources can be measured by credentials. The credential process needs to be done to the pharmacist because although a pharmacist has received a pharmacist's diploma from an accredited college, the hospital remains obliged to perform competence verification through the credential process for the patient safety in the hospital and also considering the competence of a person influenced by several factors. The purpose of this study is to analyze the pharmacy credential system in Indonesia, especially the pharmacist credential system in the Yogyakarta area hospital. A qualitative study using in-depth interview and focus group discussions were conducted in three hospitals in Yogyakarta with different characteristics. In-depth interview was attended by 1 participant, consisting of the representatives of the professional organization. Every FGD was attended by 5-10 participants, consisting of pharmacists working in hospitals in Yogyakarta. The results of the in-depth interview and FGDs were analyzed with a qualitative approach. Currently there is no specific law enforcement regulation related to the credential system for pharmacists. The credential system becomes a hospital requirement after the accreditation and fulfillment of administrative requirements of accreditation become the main motivation held pharmacist credentials. Pharmacist has the needs of improving the credential system both in theory and application. The absence of legally enforceable regulations has resulted in many unfamiliarities. Expectations of pharmacist practitioners on the process of ideal pharmacist credentials are possible with supporting elements of professional organizations.

Abstract

Soursop (Annona muricata) leaves are widely distributed in the tropics, including Indonesia. Soursop leaves are known to contain many anticancer compounds. Research from various countries using soursop leaves provides a different picture of the size of the dose. This research is qualitative research to determine the antiproliferative properties of soursop leaf alcohol extract on Widr cells as a model of colon cancer cells. The soursop leaves were provided from Medicinal Plant and Traditional Medicine Research and Development Center inTawangmangu. The thin-layer chromatography method was used to analyze the profile of soursop leaf extract. Microtetrazolium (MTT) proliferation test was used to analyze antiproliferative effects. The result showed that the essence quality of soursop leaves in aquoes solution was (20.65 ±0.07) % ; in ethanol solution was (19.22±0.34 ) %. The profile of ingredient soursop leaves was more visible in 366 than in 254. The ethanol extract of soursop leaves showed an antiproliferation effect at IC 50 at a dose 450 ug/ml. In conclusion, the ethanolic extract of Annona muricata showed antiproliferative properties at a dose of 450 ug/ml and having a half cell dose of IC 50.

Abstract

Cosmetics that are sold in the market are in great demand by many women. The type of cosmetics that is often used is a whitening cream. This cream can provide a whitening effect on facial skin so that it can increase self-confidence. One of the ingredients that have skin whitening properties and is often added to whitening creams is hydroquinone. This material has the effect of inhibiting the formation of melanin so that it can whiten the skin. The use of hydroquinone without medical supervision is not allowed because it can have negative effects such as allergies, skin redness, and a burning feeling. In this paper, we will report the identification results of the hydroquinone content in the whitening cream which is not a distribution license number from the BPOM (Indonesia Food and Drug Supervisory Agency) which is marketed in the Banjarnegara Region area. Samples were taken from the Banjarnegara area and the analysis was carried out at the Pharmacy Laboratory of the Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. The analytical method used was the identification of the hydroquinone content carried out by the TLC-densitometry method. Qualitative analysis used TLC, where the stationary phase used was silica GF254 while the mobile phase used was toluene - glacial acetic acid at a ratio of 8: 2. Samples were dotted using a microsyringe of 25 µL after extraction. Furthermore, the spot identification was carried out under 254 nm UV light and then the Rf value was calculated. Quantitative analysis was used. It was carried out by densitometry by looking at the area produced by the spots on TLC. In this analysis, the level calculation was carried out by comparing the area of the hydroquinone sample with the area of the positive control hydroquinone multiplied by the known hydroquinone level in the positive control. The results of the qualitative analysis showed that of the 21 samples, there were 6 samples or 28.57% of the samples containing hydroquinone. Quantitative analysis shows the levels in the six samples containing hydroquinone, namely sample no.11: 7,12%, sample no.12: 3.69%, sample no.15: 0.06%, sample no.16: 11.18%, sample no.18: 4.67%, and sample no.19: 1.07%. Based on the results of the analysis, several preparations contain hydroquinone exceeding a safe level of 5%, so it is necessary to regularly check testing and supervision from the authorized institution so that the circulating whitening cream is safe for use by the public.

Abstract

Oxytetracycline (OTC) was widely used antibiotic in agricultural industry. However, most of them were secreted from the body and entered the water stream, due to low absorption. The occurrence of the antibiotics in water stream may led to serious health hazards. Hence, finding the effective method that capable to achieve total mineralization of antibiotic-contaminated wastewater, followed by the production of benign inorganic and organic by-product, was necessarily deemed. Photochemical degradation method, such as: UV/H2O2 system, was capable to achieve total mineralization of OTC at its optimized condition. In this paper, inorganic by-products of OTC mineralization inside a UV/H2O2 system at its optimum condition were analyzed. The presence of nitrate, ammonium, chloride ions, and chlorine were detected at the sample solution after mineralization. The presence of these inorganic by-product has proven that the experimental setup chosen was capable to achieve total mineralization. In addition, possible routes of the inorganic by-products detachment from the OTC’s structure, were also presented. Copyright © 2021 by Authors, Published by BCREC Group. Abstract

DAGUSIBU merupakan program nasiolah dari Ikatan Apoteker Indonesa dalam menggerakkan masyarakat dalam pemakaian obat dengan baik dan benar. Program ini meliputi mengajarkan bagainama mendapatkan obat dengan baik, menggunakan obat dengan baik, menyimpan obat dengan baik dan membuang/memusnahkannya obat dengan baik apabila sudah tidak digunakan atau sudah melebihi masa kadaluwarsanya. Seiring dengan meningkatnya penyakit degeneratif dimasyarakat khususnya darerah Sedayu, yang menyebabkan meningaktnya jumlah pasien yang bisa dirawat dirumah, maka pengetahuan orang yang merawat pasein tentang pemakaian obat perlu diperhatikan. Hal ini ditujukan agar pengobatan untuk pasien yang dirawat dirumah mencapati tujuannya. Untuk itu, pimpinan cabang Muhammadiyah Sedayu unit kegiatan LazizMu membentuk kader kesehatan yang diharapkan bisa membantu para perawat pasien. Karena pentingnya pengetahuan akan obat-obatan, maka para kader dibekali materi tentang DAGUSIBU. Pembekalan dilakukan dengan cara sosialisasi yang kemudian dievaluasi dengan pre-test dan post-test dan pemantauan setelah pelaksanaan sosialisasi. Berdasarkan hasil pre-test dan post-test,peningkatan pemahaman akan DAGUSIBU meningkat sebesar 9,57% setelah dilakukan sosilaisai. Setelah satu bulan berlalu dan dilakukan pemantauan pemahaman tetang DAGUSIBU, diperoleh keterangan bahwa dari 4 kader yang memberikan jawaban menyatakan bahwa pemahaman DAGUSIBU sangat bemanfaat ketika mengelola obat di masa pandemic COVID 19.

Abstract

Dusun Kayuhan Wetan merupakan salah satu dusun yang terdapat di Kelurahan Triwidadi, Pajangan,Bantul. Dusun ini merupakan dusun mitra dari Islamic Research Pharmacy Club (IRPC), suatu wadahorganisasi mahasiswa Program Studi Farmasi yang berkecimpung di bidang kajian riset pengetahuankeislaman. Dusun Kayuhan Wetan resmi menjadi dusun mitra pada tanggal 16 Desember 2018. Dalamkegiatan pengabdian masyarakat pemberdayaan desa mitra ini dilakukan beberapa tahap kegiatan yangberkelanjutan yang sudah terlaksana, meliputi : Penyuluhan Obat Tradisional, Penyuluhan BudidayaTanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGA), Pemberian Hibah dan Penanaman Tanaman Obat Keluarga(TOGA), Pelatihan Pembuatan Jamu Instan, Pelatihan Pembuatan Agar-Agar Jamu Kering, danPemberian Hibah Alat. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan warga masyarakattentang teknik budidaya dan teknik pengolahan produk empon-empon yang menjadi produk jamu instandan agar-agar kering jamu yang lebih praktis dalam konsumsi nya.

Abstract

Kecelakaan anak-anak saat beraktivitas disekolah tidak dapat dihindarkan. Kepanikanmerupakan reaksi pertama yang akan dilakukan oleh para guru atau wali murid akibat kejadiantersebut. Untuk itu pemahaman tenaga pendidik, wali murid dan masyarakat tentangpenanganan pertolongan pertama pada kecelakaab sangatlah penting untuk menghindarkankejadian serius yang tidak diinginkan oleh anak. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkanpemahaman guru dan wali murid melalui “BUSAPI” buku saku pintar yang berisi solusi cerdaspenanganan pertolongan pertama pada kecelakaan anak serta untuk mengenalkan lebih dalamprofesi apoteker. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di TK ABA JANTURAN Yogyakarta melalui 2kegiatan. Kegiatan pertama terfokus pada guru dan wali murid sedangkan pertemuan keduaterfokus pada murid-murid TK. Setiap pertemuan berdurasi 4 jam dimana tiap materi yangdiberikan akan dikombinasi dengan modul BUSAPI. Kegiatan pertama diikuti 24 respondendengan metode pretest dan post test, sedangkan kegiatan kedua melakukan praktik pekerjaankefarmasiaan kepada murid TK melalui praktik langsung seperti membuat obat sirupus danpuyer.Selain itu kami juga akan memberikan informasi tentang apoteker dan obat melalui laguanak-anakyang diubah liriknya supaya dapat menarik perhatian murid TK. Analisis databerdasarkan peningkatan persentase pemahaman modul melalui evaluasi pre tes dan post test.Hasil program pengabdian menunjukan adanya peningkatan pemahaman sebesar 28% tentangpenanganan pertolongan pertama pada kecelakaan anak seperti luka, luka bakar, memar, gigitanserangga, menelan benda. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa sosialisasi yang dilakukan bermanfaatbagi peningkatan pengetahuan guru dan wali murid yang mengikuti kegiatan tersebut.Sambutan peserta sangat baik dan mengharapkan kegiatan serupa dilaksanakan ditempat yangberbeda.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic is not just about health issues but also about social issues, one of which is the world of education. For that is necessary to use other alternative media in learning using the internet. However, some teachers are not proficient in using and operating online platform applications. Changing the way of learning requires teachers to know information technology. For this reason, training activities were held using the G Form, Google Meet, and Zoom applications to increase knowledge in using these platforms. This activity was carried out at SD Muhammadiyah Sokonandi, involving 18 teachers in classes 1-3. Methods for implementing this activity include planning, implementation, and evaluation. In the planning stage, the activity program is first drawn up. At the implementation stage, the training participants were given a pre-test, practical presentation, and mentoring accompanied by modules and ended with a post-test. In the final stage, data analysis was carried out using Microsoft Excel. The results of this activity indicate an increase in the understanding of class 1-3 teachers by 17,08%, and overall, 100% of teachers stated that this activity was beneficial. These results indicate that this training activity helps increase the knowledge of class 1-3 teachers who participated in the activity.

Abstract

Kebijakan MBKM merupakan bentuk program yang diinisiasi oleh Kementrian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Republik Indonesia pada tahun 2020. Pelaksanaan MBKM yang telah dilaksanakan di UMY baik yang dilaksanakan secara mandiri ataupun melalui program kemendikbud. Dari penerapan MBKM yang telah dilakukan, maka perlu dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengukur sejauh mana capaian UMY dalam melaksanakan kebijakan MBKM dalam mendukung UMY sebagai research excellence university. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian non-eksperimental secara deskriptif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara membagikan kuesioner kepada seluruh dosen dan stuktural dalam kaitannya dengan pelaksanaan MBKM di UMY, kemudian akan dievaluasi keberhasilan program MBKM dalam kontribusi menuju Research Excellence University. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa responden memberikan apresiasi yang positif tentang pelaksanaan MBKM di UMY. Indeks Kinerja Strategis (IKS) UMY telah menggambarkan 8 IKU parameter pelaksanaan MBKM. Di samping itu, kinerja penelitian dan pengabdian UMY juga mengalami peningkatan. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh bahwa Program MBKM selaras dengan program UMY menuju Research Excellence University.
