Abstract

Particular ventilation design can create effective natural air movement into the indoor environment by flowing the outside wind. The window, as a kind of ventilation, has various designs. It combines three primary constructions: simple opening, vertical-pivot, and horizontal-pivot opening. Each has a particular characteristic to control air velocity and direction which flows through it. However, the wind is not always certain in the mean of its velocity and direction, which heavily relies on the season. This study is written to investigate the single window’s performance by measuring its effectiveness to control wind velocity in some directions. The effectiveness is conceived as a percentage rate that a window could maintain the outside wind velocity when it flows through the window. This experimental study employs three factors that are wind direction, window design and opening angle. This study operated 1:1 model of ten window designs, a simulation wall, and an electric fan to generate the Building Physics Laboratory's intended wind in the Department of Architecture, Institut Teknologi Indonesia. The result shows that maximum opening angle with perpendicular wind is the most effective situation to flow wind through all window—except simple casement window—with the rate ranging at 85,16% – 123,76%. The wind could also be more speeded up 109,63% – 193,90% when it aligned to all windows. Simple casement window even reaches 266,22% when the wind perpendicular.

Abstract

Rumah tinggal peninggalan Raden Aria Wangsakara yang berlokasi di permukiman Lengkong, Tangerang, Banten merupakan salah satu bangunan bersejarah yang telah ditetapkan sebagai bangunan cagar budaya. Namun, seiring dengan gencarnya aktivitas pembangunan kota untuk meningkatkan nilai kawasan, terutama yang terjadi di Lengkong, hal ini berpotensi menggerus dan menghilangnya bukti sejarah serta nilai-nilai budaya kawasan tersebut apabila tidak adanya upaya pelestarian yang lebih lanjut. Penelitian terdahulu terhadap Rumah Arya Wangsakara telah lebih banyak dilakukan pada lingkup yang makro, yaitu obyek bangunan yang dikaitkan dengan konteks sejarah dan geografis kawasan. Sementara itu, dalam upaya pelestarian yang lebih teknis pada bangunan, pengetahuan membangun bangunan belum banyak dibahas. Padahal, langkah ini sangat diperlukan untuk mengetahui nilai-nilai budaya yang terkandung pada bangunan rumah Raden Aria Wangsakara melalui tipologi arsitektur bangunannya dan menentukan signifikansi bangunan yang berkontribusi untuk meluaskan khasanah arsitektur dan ketukangan. Untuk itu, langkah penelitian ini, yaitu menguraikan kesejarahan bangunan cagar budaya rumah Raden Aria Wangsakara, mengidentifikasi tipologi bangunan cagar budaya rumah Raden Aria Wangsakara melalui elemen-elemen arsitekturnya, dan menganalisa elemen-elemen arsitektural bangunan sekitar bangunan cagar budaya rumah Raden Aria Wangsakara. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat bermanfaat bagi peningkatan nilai sejarah dan budaya bangunan serta kawasan, dokumentasi catatan ketukangan, dan menginspirasi masyarakat untuk mengekspresikan upaya pelestarian melalui elemen arsitektural yang diterapkan pada bangunan atau kawasan sekitar mereka.

Abstract

The effectiveness of school-university collaboration through the teaching assistance scheme as part of the Emancipated Learning Emancipated Campus (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka - MBKM) program. This research aims to analyze factors that influence the effectiveness of the MBKM program through the teaching assistant schemes in schools. The research was conducted using multiple linear regression method with SPSS as the tool. The independent variables were students’ interest and learning facilities, and the dependent variable was effectiveness. The result of the f test showed that students’ interest and learning facilities jointly affect 60.4% of the effectiveness of the MBKM implementation. Based on the results of the t test, interest had an influence of 40.221% on the effectiveness of MBKM implementation and learning facilities had an influence of 20.2176% on the effectiveness of MBKM implementation. From the results, it can be concluded that the teaching assistant scheme in schools had an influence of 60.4%, consisting of 40.2% students’ interest in SMKN 4 of South Tangerang towards MBKM activities and 20.2% learning facilities provided by mentors as teachers.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini berfokus pada pelatihan komponen informasi terkait kemasan produk makanan kering UMKM di Kota Tangerang Selatan. Sebanyak 16 pelaku UMKM menjadi perserta yang direkomendasikan oleh Dinas Koperasi dan UMKM Kota Tangerang Selatan dan komunitas UMKM Ikatan Pengusaha Muslimah Indonesia (IPEMI). Tim pelaksana pengabdian masyarakat terdiri dari tiga orang dosen dengan dibantu oleh lima orang mahasiswa. Sebanyak 16 pelaku UMKM dengan masing-masing satu buah produk unggulan mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan yang dibagi menjadi lima kelompok bimingan bersama mahasiswa. Kegiatan diawali dengan persiapan area kerja pelatihan yang dilengkapi dengan peralatan. Selanjutnya, kegiatan utama pelatihan terdiri dari pengukuran produk ke dalam kemasan, praktik pengambilan foto dan edit foto kemasan, penulisan story selling dan pemasukan data label kemasan, dan yang terakhir yaitu hasil evaluasi kegiatan melalui pengisian kuesioner. Peserta UMKM melakukan pengisian kuesioner awal dan akhir. Dari hasil pengukuran melalui kuesioner awal yang dibandingkan dengan kuesioner akhir dapat disimpulkan bahwa peserta UMKM mengalami pemahaman yang jauh lebih baik dibandingkan saat sebelum pelaksanaan kegiatan. Harapannya setelah kegiatan ini akan adanya program berkelanjutan mengenai tentang improvisasi desain baru, teknik pemasaran di era digitalisasi dan jurus untuk meraih pasar ekspor. Sehingga, para peserta UMKM bisa terus memperbaharui, mencari peluang baru, serta menambah penghasilan dari usaha UMKM tersebut. Abstract

Architectural education is adapting to the demands of efficient, technology-driven practices, with virtual reality (VR) emerging as a critical tool in bridging communication gaps between architects and clients. This study, conducted by lecturers at Institut Teknologi Indonesia, focuses on their experience implementing VR technology in the High-rise Building Technology class. The initiative spans four sequential stages, with the introduction and demo executed hybridly (online and offline). The authors emphasize the importance of knowledge induction and firsthand demonstrations to familiarize students with VR. Notably, external instructors proficient in VR technology participate in the program. Student engagement and enthusiasm are evident, with offline demo attendance surpassing the online VR introduction seminar. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected students' motivation to learn, and the hands-on VR experience is a revitalizing approach. The two-way interaction between instructors and students enhances interest in in-person attendance. The authors advocate for the continued development of this experience in architectural education, promoting an active learning system using VR across various courses. The paper underscores the potential of VR technology to invigorate architectural education and enhance student engagement in the post-pandemic learning landscape.

Abstract

Momentum pembangunan infrastruktur biasanya memperlihatkan kemajuan pengetahuan dan teknologi yang diterapkan pada rancangan dan hasil yang terbangun. Pembangunan yang terus dilakukan selama dua dekade terakhir di bidang transportasi, termasuk di dalamnya adalah pembangunan bandara di Indonesia. Strukturnya yang luas membuat bandara ini memerlukan penanganan khusus dalam sistem operasi bangunan, yang membuatnya berbeda dengan jenis bangunan lainnya. Perencanaan yang matang dan terintegrasi dari komponen-komponen bangunan diperlukan agar desain bangunan menjadi efisien dan efektif. Minimnya penelitian di bidang arsitektur dengan objek fungsi bangunan bandar udara membuat penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi tonggak sejarah, dan pembelajaran bagi para perancang untuk dapat melangkah lebih jauh dari praktek yang selama ini dilakukan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mengidentifikasi sistem utama, subsistem, dan elemen-elemen pembentuknya pada bangunan CGK, KJT, YIA, DPS, BPN, PKY, dan MDC melalui observasi sumber-sumber domain publik, kemudian dianalisis untuk menemukan kemiripan antar bangunan bandar udara. Strategi integrasi yang paling mudah dan umum dilakukan adalah dengan menggabungkan komponen mekanikal atau non-struktural dengan komponen struktural (E-M), sedangkan strategi integrasi yang paling sulit dilakukan adalah dengan menggunakan material struktur yang memiliki banyak peran sekaligus (S-E-M-I).
