Abstract

This study aims to look at how the role of gender in the creative thinking process of students, especially in solving math problems. This research is included in exploratory research with a qualitative approach. The qualitative approach was chosen because in this study the main data were written and/or spoken words. The subjects of this research are 1 semester students of mathematics education study program. The main instrument is the researcher himself while the assistive instrument uses problem solving tests, interview guidelines, and recording aids. The results of the analysis and discussion that have been done show that students who have different levels of thinking ability will also have different levels of creative thinking. Gender also influences the results of creative thinking, where in the subject of this study, the creative thinking ability of female students is better than that of men. Keywords: Creative Thinking Ability, Problem Solving, Gender Differences

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in mathematical problem-solving abilities by applying the Edutainment assisted LAPS-Heuristic learning model. This type of research is PTK, with a qualitative approach. The research consisted of pre-cycle activities, cycle 1 and cycle 2. The research subjects were 23 students in class X Mia at SMA Negeri 1 Tarabintang TA.2021/2022. Pre-cycle, students who complete 34.79%, who do not complete 65.21%. Cycle 1 of students who completed 74%, who did not complete 26%. Cycle 2 of students who completed 91.30%, and who had not completed 8.70%. The application of the LAPS-Heuristic learning model can improve students' mathematical problem-solving skills in trigonometry material

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' mathematical reasoning abilities through the Integrated Problem Solving learning model in a scientific approach with the help of geogebra for class X students of SMA Bina Bersaudara Medan. The subjects in this study were 47 students of X-MIA class at Bina Bersaudara Private High School Medan. From the initial ability test, it was obtained that the average score of students was 2.41 which was included in the low category and 42.55% who completed. After being given action in cycle I and given a mathematical reasoning ability test, it was obtained that the average score of 2.79 students was included in the moderate category (53.19%) who passed. In cycle I, the percentage of completeness of mathematical reasoning had not been achieved, so cycle II was carried out. After being given action in cycle II and given a mathematical reasoning ability test, an average score of 3.03 was obtained in the good category and 87.23% had completed. From cycle I to cycle II, an increase in the average score and the percentage of mathematical reasoning completeness were obtained.

Abstract

Abstract: Realistic Mathematics Learning To Improve Mathematical Problem Solving Ability. This type of research is experimental research. The population in this study were all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 35 Medan consisting of 11 classes. Class VIII-8 as an experimental class with a total of 31 people. The results showed that: a) the average mastery of learning classically from the results of the test of problem solving abilities, namely students who completed the pre-test as many as 12 people (38.70%) and students who did not complete as many as 19 people (61.29 %) while in the post test there were 27 people (87.09%) of students who completed and 4 people (12.09%) of students who did not complete; b) Increased mathematical problem solving abilities in pretest and posttest have increased by an average of 28.74%. Based on the data that has been obtained, it is concluded that realistic mathematics learning can improve mathematical problem solving abilities. Keywords: Realistic Mathematics Learning, Problem Solving Ability. Abstrak: Pembelajaran Matematika Realistik  Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah  Matematis. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 35 Medan yang terdiri dari 11 kelas. Kelas VIII-8 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang berjumlah 31 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: a) rata-rata ketuntasan belajar secara klasikal dari hasil tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah yaitu peserta didik yang tuntas pada pre test sebanyak 12 orang (38,70%) dan peserta didik yang tidak tuntas sebanyak 19 orang (61,29%) sedangkan pada post test terdapat sebanyak 27 orang (87,09%) peserta didik yang tuntas dan sebanyak 4 orang (12,09%) peserta didik yang tidak tuntas; b) Peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis pada pretes dan postes mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata sebesar 28,74%. Berdasarkan data yang telah diperoleh, disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran matematika realistik dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis.Kata Kunci : Pembelajaran Matematika Realistik, Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah.

Abstract

The research aims to determine: (1) the effect of the problem-based learning models on computational thinking skills assisted by geogebra media; (2) student responses to the use of geogebra-assisted problem-based learning models for flat sided geometric material. The type of research is a quasi-experimental with a posttest-only control design, the research population was all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 23 Medan for the 2022/2023 academic year. The sample of this research were 25 students in the experimental class and 25 students in the control class who were taken by cluster random sampling. Data collection on computational thinking skills used a test instrument in the form of a description consisting of 2 questions and student responses using a response questionnaire. The indicators of computational thinking skills that were measured in this research were decomposition, pattern recognition, generalization and abstraction, and algorithmic thinking. Data analysis used the t test (Independent Sample t-Test) for computational thinking skills and percentages for student response questionnaire. Based on the research results obtained (1) there is a significant influence of the problem-based learning model on the ability computational thinking skills assisted by geogebra; (2) there is a positive response from students towards the use of a problem-based learning model assisted by geogebra media on flat sided geometric material.
