Abstract

Profil perusahaan merupakan instrumen penting bagi suatu perusahaan untukmemperkenalkan perusahaan tersebut kepada masyarakat dan investor yangmemiliki potensi sebagai sebuah genre. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatankualitatif dengan kecenderungan semi kuantitatif. Pendekatan semi kuantitatif digunakan untuk menghitung presentase fitur-fitur linguistik seperti tipe proses,tenses, circumstantial elements, dan modifiers dalam nominal group, sedangkanpendekatan kualitatif digunakan untuk menginterpretasikan fitur dan strukturlinguistik, serta fungsi sosial dari profil perusahaan. Data penelitian  diambildengan teknik random sampling yang terdiri dari 134 klausa dari profil-profilperusahaan yang diambil dari situs resmi lima perusahaan yaitu Sony Corporation,Chevron Corporation, Martha Tilaar Group, Telkomsel, dan Manulife Indonesia.Dalam menganalisis data, penulis mengaplikasikan konsep genre dari Gerot danWignell dikombinasikan dengan teori Transitivity dan konsep nominal group dariHalliday dan Matthiessen, serta metode distribusi dan teknik permutasi olehSudaryanto. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa profil perusahaan sebagai sebuahgenre memiliki fitur dan struktur linguistik, serta fungsi sosial tertentu. Sebuah profilperusahaan memiliki fitur linguistik yang didominasi oleh partisipan spesifik,Classifier dan specific Deictic dalam nominal group, proses Material, dan SimplePresent tense. Struktur linguistik profil perusahaan terdiri dari dua bagian yaituidentifikasi dan deskripsi. Fungsi sosial profil perusahaan adalah untukmendeskripsikan suatu perusahaan dari hal yang umum ke hal yang khusus.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the need for English in guiding activities in Bedono Tourism Village, Demak Regency. This study used a quantitative descriptive method with respondents who are members of the Bedono community-based tourism group. The results of the study indicate that members of community-based tourism group have a high awareness of the importance of English skills, especially in the context of direct communication with foreign tourists. Speaking skills are the main focus needed, accompanied by training materials that are contextual and relevant to local conditions, such as tourism vocabulary, local culture, and tourism-related information. Although some members have experience in English and have participated in training, the use of English is not evenly distributed and has not become a habit. The main obstacles faced include limited vocabulary and minimal opportunities for practice. Therefore, training methods that are direct practice, such as roleplay and simulation, are considered the most appropriate. The results of the study also show that there is hope for support from both the government and related institutions for the sustainability of the program. Based on the results of the study, it is recommended to develop training based on local needs, interactive and applicable learning designs, and cross-sector collaboration to improve the professionalism of members of community-based tourism groups.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the correlation between English language proficiency and the professional readiness of students in teacher education study programs for entering the workforce. Students in teacher education study programs in Indonesia generally focus on mastering subject matter according to their respective fields, while English language skills are often considered supplementary. Current developments in the workforce demand graduates who are capable of adapting globally, including within international educational environments and non-school sectors. The method used in this study was a descriptive quantitative approach through the distribution of questionnaires completed by students in teacher education study programs at several higher education institutions. The research results indicate that among five higher education institutions in West Java, 42% of respondents strongly agree and 35% agree that English is an essential skill that needs to be mastered, while 15% remain neutral because they consider English proficiency not yet urgent when subject mastery is still low. These findings confirm that English language proficiency plays a role in enhancing the professional readiness of students and therefore needs to be more strategically integrated into the higher education curriculum, particularly in teacher education study programs.

Abstract

The development of social media has changed the pattern of tourist promotion and visitation decisions, offering significant opportunities for local tourist destinations. This study aims to analyze the specific influence of Facebook and Instagram on increasing tourist visits, with a case study of Tambakbulusan Tourism Village, Glagah Wangi Beach, Demak Regency. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. Data were collected through questionnaires from 175 tourist respondents and analyzed using SmartPLS 3.0 software. The results of hypothesis testing proved that both social media platforms have a positive and statistically significant influence. Facebook has an influence with a t-value of 7.787 (p-value 0.000), and Instagram shows a stronger influence with a t-value of 8.390 (p-value 0.000). These findings confirm that digital promotion strategies through both platforms are effective in driving tourist visitation decisions. This study provides an empirical contribution to the digital tourism marketing literature, particularly for developing local tourist destinations. The practical implication of this study is the need for destination managers to optimize strategic content and engagement across both platforms to maximize promotional impact.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Facebook and Instagram social media on the decision of tourist visits in Tambakbulusan Tourism Village, Demak Regency. The research method used was quantitative descriptive with a survey approach of 175 tourist respondents. Data analysis was carried out using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on SmartPLS 3.0. The results showed that both platforms had a positive and significant influence on tourist visit decisions with a p-value = 0.000. Facebook has a greater influence (β=0.464) than Instagram (β=0.275). These findings confirm that Facebook plays a strong role in building trust and social interaction between travelers through online communities, while Instagram is more influential in shaping the visual image of destinations and emotional appeal. This research reinforces previous findings on the importance of the role of social media in tourism marketing, while also making a new contribution in the context of local destinations. The practical implication of this study is the need for destination managers to integrate promotional strategies across both platforms to optimize tourist interest and visit decisions.

Abstract

Industri Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition (MICE) menuntut komunikasi teknis yang tepat dan sering kali melampaui kefasihan bahasa Inggris umum. Meskipun sektor ini tumbuh pesat di Indonesia, kurikulum English for Specific Purposes (ESP) mengalami kesenjangan yang sering kali memprioritaskan soft skills namun mengabaikan istilah-istilah khusus dalam bidang tersebut. Penelitian ini menjawab ketidakterhubungan tersebut dengan mengidentifikasi dan mengategorikan terminologi teknis MICE untuk menginformasikan desain kurikulum berbasis data. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, sebuah korpus yang terdiri dari 5.815 kata disusun dari sepuluh situs convention center di konteks internasional dan Indonesia. Analisis melalui Voyant Tools mengungkapkan bahwa wacana yang ada sangat memprioritaskan manajemen spasial, dengan istilah frekuensi tinggi meliputi room/rooms (109), meeting (80), dan space (50). Istilah tersebut disusun ke dalam empat kategori fungsional yaitu logistik spasial, operasional acara, metrik teknis, dan dukungan profesional. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa instruksi ESP harus beralih dari bahasa Inggris pariwisata umum menuju carrier content spesifik domain dan literasi kuantitatif, seperti mengomunikasikan capacity, dimensions, dan floor weight loading. Wacana digital otentik yang digunakan secara efektif menjembatani kesenjangan antara akademisi dan industri, sehingga membekali lulusan dengan keterampilan bahasa Inggris yang diperlukan untuk pasar MICE global.
