Abstract

This article examines the strategic role of participatory communication, post-return entrepreneurship of Indonesian migrant workers, and the green economy framework in promoting sustainable development initiatives. Grounded in theories of participatory communication and green entrepreneurship, the study applies a bibliometric approach to scientific publications from 2000 to 2024, sourced from the Dimensions database and mapped using VOSviewer. The analysis identifies research trends, author networks, and dominant keywords, revealing that the integration of participatory communication, post-migration entrepreneurship, and green economy remains limited and underexplored. It also highlights weak institutional connectivity among Indonesian academic communities, with minimal positioning of returned migrant workers as active agents of sustainable transformation. The findings suggest that participatory communication can significantly strengthen community engagement, enhance program ownership, and drive social change. Consequently, the study recommends adopting transformative and collaborative approaches in development communication to empower returned migrant workers in advancing local green economies. These insights contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 8 (decent work), SDG 10 (reduced inequalities), and SDG 13 (climate action), by integrating migration into inclusive development strategies.

Abstract

Brainrot content, short-form social media content characterized by low-quality yet highly addictive information, has grown rapidly among younger audiences and is associated with declining attention span and mental well-being. This community service activity aims to improve students' digital literacy and analytical skills in reading public trends and sentiment toward brainrot content through a webinar and workshop titled "Behind The Trend". The activity was held online via Zoom Meeting on 26 June 2026, featuring two speakers from the Dicoding community (DBS Foundation and PIJAK). The method consisted of a conceptual webinar followed by a hands-on workshop covering YouTube comment web scraping, data cleaning, text preprocessing, N-Gram and WordCloud generation, and lexicon-based sentiment analysis using Python on Google Colab. Evaluation was conducted through Google Form-based pre-test and post-test. The pre-test involving 18 respondents recorded an average correctness of 81.1%, while the post-test involving 23 respondents showed an increase with an average score of 95.2 out of 100. The activity was attended by 53 registered participants from various universities. These results indicate that a viral-trend case-study training approach effectively improves participants' understanding of data scraping, text mining, and sentiment analysis concepts.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has transformed educational practices and increased the demand for teachers to possess adequate digital competencies in designing and implementing interactive learning media. Nevertheless, the integration of digital technology in elementary school classrooms is still constrained by teachers' limited ability to develop digital learning resources. This community service initiative was conducted to strengthen the digital competencies of teachers at SDN Karang Anyar 01 and SDN Karang Anyar 06 through training on the use of Scratch as an interactive learning medium. Fourteen teachers participated in a series of activities consisting of seminars, workshops, hands-on practice, and mentoring sessions. The effectiveness of the program was evaluated using pre-tests, post-tests, and participant satisfaction questionnaires. The evaluation results revealed that the average participant score increased from 65 in the pre-test to 82.11 in the post-test, reflecting an improvement of 17.11 points (26.32%). In addition, participants expressed positive perceptions of the training materials, instructional delivery, and mentoring activities. The program also enhanced teachers' understanding, practical abilities, and confidence in developing interactive learning media with Scratch that could be adapted to their respective teaching subjects. Overall, the findings indicate that a combination of structured training and continuous mentoring effectively supports teachers in integrating digital learning media into classroom practice. Consequently, Scratch-based training represents an effective professional development strategy for improving teachers' digital competencies while promoting more creative, innovative, interactive, and student-centered learning environments.
