Abstract

The main activities in the rural landscape are agriculture, involved natural resources management that compose the function of area as settlement, government services, social services and economy activities.  These activities affected the rural landscape that changed plant diversities as well as carbon stock. The aim of this research was to evaluate biodiversity and carbon stock in the rural area of Cisadane Watershed.  Two villages were defined on a purposive random sampling, i.e. Sukadamai and Bantarsari.  The sampling plots were selected based on main land use type with size for tree was 20 m × 20 m, pole was 10 m x 10 m, sapling was 5 m x 5 m and seedling was 2 m x 2 m; with 3 replications.  Similarly, other concentric plots were established. The number of plant species were counted, diameter at breast height (DBH) and plant height were measured.   The analysis of carbon stock, plant diversity and the relationship was developed using Microsoft Excel and R 3.6.1 software.  The results showed that main land use in Sukadamai and Bantarsari Village consisted of settlement area, farmland, mixed farming and palm oil plantation.  In the research area where 106 species from 43 families that classified into 9 horizontal diversity based on function and 5 vertical diversity based on plant height. The values of Shannon-Wiener Diversity Index (H’) ranged 2,78–3,20.  Estimated carbon stocks were 1,16–51,40 Mg ha−1 in research areas, respectively. These research concluded there was a negative correlation between species richness and diversity index with carbon stock in the village landscapes.ABSTRACTThe main activities in the rural landscape are agriculture, involved natural resources management that compose the function of area as settlement, government services, social services and economy activities.  These activities affected the rural landscape that changed plant diversities as well as carbon stock. Abstract

Water demand should be balance with water availability. The population of Bogor City was increased every year, so that water demand become increased. Currently, Government of Bogor City only utilizes the Cisadane river as a source for drinking water, but Bogor City has 2 rivers there are Cisadane river and Ciliwung river. So, Ciliwung river can be solution for this problem. Water discharge and rainfall influence water availability. Distribution log pearson type 3 used to predict the water discharge and rainfall and linier regression analyzed the relationship between water discharge (dependent variable) with rainfall as X1 and water level as X2 (independent variable). The result of distribution log pearson type 3 every return period 2, 5, 10, 25, dan 50 years is water discharge and rainfall were increased. Average increase of water discharge every return period is 1.6 m3/s and average increase of rainfall every return period is 251 mm. Partially, water discharge influenced by water level 97.7% and 2% by rainfall. But, = 0.000 < = 0.05. it is mean rainfall and water level cannot be ignored because it can influence water discharge with regression model = -3.01 + 0.000 X1 + 0.202 X2.

Abstract

Forests are a source of landscape services that are important for the sustainability of ecosystems. The Ministry of Forestry has provided access to village communities to manage forest areas legally, through a village forest scheme with management access rights for 35 years. Participatory mapping is a type of public participation that includes the creation and/or use of spatial information for various purposes. Spatial data allows the identification of relationships between landscape services and landscape characteristics and administrative units. This study aims to identify the potential characteristics and service potentials of the Pattaneteang Village Forest area. The method used in this research is spatial analysis carried out on land use maps based on drone images in Pattaneteang Village and qualitative methods in the form of structured interviews, questionnaires, and focus group discussions. The results showed the quality of landscape services for biodiversity and stored carbon in the Village of Pattaeneteang was in the “very good” level, having a high-value economic role with a total score of 9 in Utilization Village Forest. The total score of the cultural role of the Pattanateang Village Forest is 4 for the Disputed Village Forest and the Utilization Village Forest, which means that it has low cultural value and a value of 5 for the Core Village Forest area which means moderate cultural value.

Abstract

The Sultanate of Siak Sri Indrapura plays a vital role in the history of the development of Islam and Malay culture in Pekanbaru City. Pekanbaru City is a cultural-historical tourist attraction through the Malay-Islamic landscape, which can be seen from its historical heritage. The historical heritage is a Malay-Islamic cultural heritage building that still exists today. This study will explain the analysis of cultural history and its preservation management. The method used is qualitative with a Historic Urban Landscape (HUL) approach. The study's results showed 16 cultural heritage sites with varying levels of management, five sites in very well-maintained condition, three well maintained, and eight poorly maintained. Several challenges are faced: damaged buildings, incomplete historical data, regulations, and the absence of tourist programs. In addition, the distance between cultural heritage and the enthusiasm of the Malay community is a potential that needs to be optimized. The vision is to make Pekanbaru City the center of Malay-Islamic identity based on the waterfront city through the concept of preservation. The proposed preservation management is a historical tourism development program to connect cultural heritage buildings based on tourist trails that prioritize cultural and historical interpretation effectiveness and efficiency.

Abstract

The concept of "Stingless Bee-Friendly Local Home Garden" can be an alternative for urban landscape conservation through home gardens, especially in Depok City, which has a rapid flow of development. For this reason, a management strategy is needed as part of an effort to improve the landscape services of Depok City. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of home gardens and the potential for developing stingless bee-friendly home gardens to support the optimization of urban landscape services. The research was conducted using a field survey on sample of home gardens selected through purposive sampling methods, interviews, questionnaires, and literature studies. Based on the conditions of climate, weather, ecology, 90 samples of home gardens and respondents, Depok City has the potential to develop the concept of a honey bee-friendly home garden. These conditions can support the activity of stingless bees and provide a source of available food throughout the year. The concept of a stingless bee-friendly home garden can be achieved by presenting a diversity of food plant sources, providing bee hives, and proper home garden management. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct socialization and training on stingless-bee keeping in the yard starting from farmers group, making an example of a honey bee-friendly home garden, and increasing green space connections in the city Keywords: home garden management, landscape services, stingless bee-friendly home garden, urban landscape

Abstract

This article discusses the environmental assessment caused by the commercial use of groundwater by the community as landowners. In the future, this practice must receive direction and responsibility from the government as policymakers to prevent and repair environmental damage, especially habitat damage and species in strengthening the principle of "paying for commercial groundwater" with the REA methodology to assess and compensate for environmental damage. This method, developed by the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), uses the scale of remediation required to compensate for past, current and future damage. The compensation approaches are the services approach (or the resources approach) and the valuation approach (the value-to-value and value-to-cost approach). The results show that the change in residential land is 0.16%, or 25 ha. The total area of changed settlement/land built up has decreased the function of land which was originally secondary/logged-over dry land forest to become settlement/land built up. Furthermore, there was a decrease in secondary/logged-over dry land forest to open field of 0.03% or 3.1 ha, so that the total area of secondary/logged-over dry land forest decreased by 0.19% or 28.1 ha.

Abstract

The Green Open Space (RTH) development program for 2021-2025 states that Dinas Lingkungan Hidup (DLH) of Banyumas Regency manages city parks in Purwokerto City. Despite the fact that developments and optimisations took place in both 2021 and 2022, landscape conditions still need attention. So, this study aims to evaluate the management of urban parks’ landscapes and to analyse perceptions of community members who visited the city parks across Purwokerto City regarding city park management. Study findings will be used to develop a sustainable landscape management strategy. This research implements a mixed method in data collection, a Chi-Square test, and a SWOT-based analysis. Results show landscape management works well when intensive maintenance is enforced despite labour shortages. Visitors’ perception is central in assessing the management of a city park, especially when analysis is done based on the most significant Chi-Square test results. Male respondents of Taman Satria Berkoh and male-female respondents to Purwokerto Square have a strong perception of the role of temperature comfort and performance of park managers in landscape management. Respondents aged between 26-34 years in Taman Mas Apung Kemambang, as well as respondents with status as residents of Purwokerto City and Banyumas Regency in Ahmad Yani Literacy Park, focused their perceptions on the importance of facilities provision in landscape management. Ultimately, this research proposes a landscape management strategy of "hold and maintain."Keywords: city park; landscape manajement; Purwokerto city; visitor perseptionAbstrakDinas Lingkungan Hidup (DLH) Kabupaten Banyumas mengelola taman kota di Kota Purwokerto dalam program pengembangan Ruang Terbuka Hijau (RTH) 2021-2025.
