Abstract

Background: Oral squamous cell carcinoma is a part of the cancer in the head and neck which ranks 10th most cancers in the world with a wide geographical distribution. It is usually found in the late stage. P16 gene (CDKN2a/INK4a) is an important tumor suppressor gene  in carcinogenesis. This study aimed to detect the expression of p16 gene on paraffin block samples of the tongue of the oral squamous cell carcinoma patients in RSUD Dr. Moewardi. Methods: DNA product used in this study was isolated from 14 samples on Paraffin Blocks of the tongue of the oral squamous cell carcinoma patients in RSUD Dr. Moewardi. The DNA products, then, were used as a template for PCR amplification of the p16 gene. Primers were designed with the base sequences deposited in Gene Bank. PCR amplification products were run in agarose gel electrophoresis and visualized to detect the presence of the p16 gene. Later, the results were analyzed and presented in descriptive data. Results: Only 6 of 14 samples were diagnosed as oral squamous cell carcinoma. From 6 samples only one was detected positive expression of p16 gene. DNA bands were detected in 3% agarose gel. The intensity of DNA bands was visualized lowly and there was a smear. On the 5 other samples, DNA bands were detected under the marker, thus they showed a negative result or the expression of p16 gene was not detectable. Conclusions: Among 6 samples of the tongue of the oral squamous cell carcinoma patients, only one showed positive expression of p16 gene. Errors in the molecular and tumor differentiation level analysis was able to cause the negative results in this study. Therefore further research that detected expression of p16 gene on the tongue of the oral squamous cell carcinoma patients was needed. Keywords:P16 gene, Paraffin Block, oral squamous cell carcinoma.

Abstract

Background : Tongue cancer is the most common intraoral site of cancer occurs throughout the world. When it is diagnosed at early stages of development, the tongue cancer has 80 to 90 % survival rate. Although it has a high survival rate, most patients were diagnosed at a late stage. The purpose of this study was to detect the gene as an inhibitor of cancer cell metastasis factor in a paraffin block sample. Method : This research utilized DNA isolated from 14 parafin blocks which served as samples. First, the DNA were amplified using PCR with appropiate primer. Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis tindak tutur ilokusi iklan surat kabar Sumatera Ekspres. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan jenis tindak tutur ilokusi iklan komersial pada surat kabar Sumatera Ekspres. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analitis. Data dalam penelitian ini bersumber dari 40 iklan komersial yang terdapat dalam surat kabar Sumatera Ekspres selama bulan Januari—Juni 2013. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik pilah unsur penentu dan teknik pragmatis pada metode padan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan  tindak tutur ilokusi yang digunakan pembuat iklan pada surat kabar Sumatera Ekspres periode Januari—Juni 2013, yakni tindak tutur ilokusi asertif, direktif, dan komisif.

Abstract

Artikel ini mendiskusikan alih kode dan campur kode yang terjadi dalam acara Bukan Empat Mata yang dipandu oleh Tukul Arwana. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik deskriptif. Teknik tersebut difokuskan pada; (1) alih kode dan campur kode  yang dilakukan oleh Tukul Arwana, (2) penyebab terjadinya alih kode dan campur kode tersebut. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa campur kode yang dilakukan oleh Tukul Arwana adalah dalam bentuk kata dan frasa. Sementara itu, alih kode dilakukan dalam bentuk kalimat. Alih kode dan campur kode dilakukan dalam bahasa Jawa dan Inggris. Alasan terjadinya alih kode dan campur kode ini adalah untuk menciptakan humor dan situasi santai.

AbstractThis study discusses the implicature on Iklan Niaga.com. This study aims to describe the implicature of the utterance or text of the advertisements in Iklan Niaga.com.This study used the descriptive-analitic method. The data were collected from five advertisements advertised in Iklan Niaga.com. The type of the implicature is commonly used in commercial advertisements on Iklan Niaga.com, they are some offerings such as offerings of discount, offering of advantage, offering of strategic location, offering of bonus, offering product excellence, offering of easiness, offering of cheap price, offering of product type, and offering of the newest product.Kata kunci: pragmatic, implicature, advertisementsAbstrakPenelitian ini membahas tentang makna implikatur pada Iklan Niaga.
