Abstract

This research is entitled “Interior Zoning Layout of Pajang House An Attempt of Optimizing the Sale of Metal Craft Result in Tumang-Boyolali Central Java”. The objective of research is to find the solution of interior design offer as residence and as the display. The attempt of supporting the tourism area in the village Tumang, Boyolali. This research is using descriptive qualitative methods The approach employed was phenomenological one supported by the psychological, ergonomic, social and cultural approaches, based on the purposive sampling. The data source employed includes: the source, place and event, metal works, craftsmen’s personal note. Technique of collecting data employed was interview, observation and library study. The data accuracy and validity employed was source triangulation technique. The analysis model borrowed the interactive one. Tumang society live in the Javanese traditional concept. They are attached in the close relationship and the environment establishes the strong sense of brotherhood that affects their taste and view on the house shape. The residence layout prioritizes more the society’s interest rather than their business. There are two factors affecting the craftsmen who do not display their works properly. The internal factor: the less skill about the display house design. The external factor: the less number of visitors visiting routinely the village Tumang. To cope with the problem the craftsmen,need an activity in the form of workshop for an environment as the model, leads to the attempt of expanding the information about the existence of a metal craftsmen group in Tumang to the public, through the shape processing in several strategic places. The house physical imaging uses the consumer profession behavior theme approach strategy that will become the attraction in the design solution. The display house physical imaging was done by processing the display shape of crafting product through the wall display playing.Keywords: Zoning, display house, profession behavior

Abstract

This research is entitled "Optimizing Tradisional Batik of Surakarta: its Implementation to Traditional Based Accessories as an Effort to Strengthen local Culture of Surakarta in the Globalization Era".  The research aims at analyzing and realizing traditional batik of Surakarta as a traditional-based interior element to support the district tour and to strengthen the local culture in the era of  globalization. The problems of this research are as follows: 1) to optimize the utilization of batik of Surakarta as a souvenir of the district tour; 2) to make the craftsman more sensitive to the cultural  richness in Surakarta as a work of design and 3) to recommend to the authority. The activities will be carried out for two years. The results of the research in the first year were the identification of  the forms of batik of Surakarta and the map of design offered. The existence of batik should be developed and the concept of the development should be based on batik characteristics, especially  the element of batik surface design, namely, batik motif and batik as a technique. There are five activities in the second stage, that is, the experiment for developing, training for the craftsman, try out of the result, the completion of batik developing concept, and the recommendation.The strategy used was actively programmed by making use of modality: hearing, visual, kinesthetic. Brainstorming is used as a response to the strategy design. Try out is carried out using drill method and assistance. The result of the experiment is the combination of parang batik with tenun lurik (hand-woven cotton with a stripped pattern) which has shortcomings and advantages.  The advantages are that the innovative design of the surface appearing as tenun lurik with batik motif made by batik technique is easily adjusted to the need for interior elements; the cloth used  is hand-woven cotton with a stripped pattern; the natural dye is that is used for batik which is environment-friendly. The shortcomings of this design are as follows: the cost is higher than that of traditional batik; to combine batik with tenun lurik needs substance used to remove the colour of tenun lurik and it takes a long time. To make the cost cheaper so that it is affordable for anyone, we need to make plans for the cloth size and the dyeing both of which should be considered at the time of weaving process. Due to that the activities should be supported by all sides especially the financier.Key words: Batik, tenun lurik, elements interior, and inovation

Abstract

Tulisan berjudul “Hadirnya Kekerasan Simbolik pada Perkembangan Interior diSurakarta” berusaha menganalisis fenomena merebaknya penggunaan elemen interiortradidional Jawa pada beberapa bangunan baik untuk rumah tinggal maupun bangunanumum di Surakarta dan sekitarnya. Tulisan ini berusaha mengupas proses hadirnya bentukkekerasan simbolik pada interior yang dipengaruhi atas konsep kekuasaan diri setiap individuberdasar arkeologi pengetahuan yang dimiliki. Strategi yang digunakan dengan pendekatanpostmodern, analisis wacana Foucault tentang kekuasaan dan kekerasan simbolik PierreBourdieu. Metode yang digunakan: fenomena yang diangkat di Surakarta dan sekitarnya,dengan studi literatur dan observasi pada fenomena.Hasil pembahasan, kehadiran iklan secara nyata maupun tidak nyata sejatinya telahmenghegemoni manusia yang melihatnya, mendorong keinginan tampil dalam sign valuetentang interior sebagai hunian. Kekuasaan pada diri individu mendorong adanya pengetahuantentang trend atau fashion interior. Tempel menempel elemen interior tempo dulu dihadirkandengan segala cara untuk rumah ke kinian. Pengetahuan orang tentang nilai pada satu simbolproduk budaya di era global berbeda-beda. Bagi orang yang telah melepaskan diri dari maknasimbol, maka tidak pernah ada yang mempersoalkan, karena semua dianggap given, takenfor granted. Bagi orang yang tidak menyepakati tentang nilai budaya yang dihadirkan padasatu simbol tertentu maka akan terjadi sebuah proses penolakan ataupun ketidaksepakatanterhadap nilai tersebut dan itulah yang dinamakan kekerasan simbolik. Kekerasan simbolikpada gaya interior carut marut yang memadu padankan elemen interior tempo dulu padainterior ke kekinian, tanpa mempertimbangkan aspek fungsi maupun nilai yang melekat.Kata Kunci: Kekuasaan, kekerasan simbolik, carut marut

Abstract

This paper titled Creative Case Elsie de Wolfe and Frank Lloyd Wright 20th Century. This paper is the result of literature study to explore the question of how the role of the creative process Elsie de Wolfe and Frank Lloyd Wright, in the field of interior design in the 20th century and how the environmental factors that influence the creative process Elsie de Wolfe and Frank Lloyd Wright. The approach used to borrow theories of Sigmund Freud, about the social influences on personality characteristics.Discussion of the results show, in the 20th century two trends emerged in the case of the creative design process. The first, conducted by Elsie de Wolfe leads to a form of conservation is a growing trend since ancient times, who faithfully follow and build on the traditions of the past history and tradition only slightly developed. This conservative tendency leads to the improvement of the visual style of the surface treatment and decoration, colors and textures, fixtures and accessories. The second, conducted by Frank Lloyd Wright tendency which aims to encourage innovation and new discoveries, which leads to the front and the futuristic new. This approach can be said to be more radical. This approach looked at all aspects of interior design as a potential for experimentation and progress. This approach is directed to examine the forms of space, system-structural systems and construction of space, patterns of functional activity space, the use of new materials, new manufacturing processes, and other aspects of interior design that have a direct appeal, ie, walls, ceilings , flooring, furniture, and other objects. The final goal of this trend is the incorporation of all the above elements in order to achieve overall consistency of the design as a result of the new design. The case related to the creative, creative way someone can be summed up basically not escape the influence of inner experience and empirical experience. At the level of the inner experience of it driven by the demands of the environment when it should behave and act while living in an environment that will form the habit of a person who in the end became a personality. The attitude of a person or individual social representation called kepribadaian formed as influenced by social climate or social structures in the environment. The personality characteristics influenced the work of many designers or artists is basically a naturally occurring process. This suggests that social action is created on the basis of a person’s personality or psychological processes that formed him based on the interpretation of other interpretations. Keywords: Creative, Personality, Character Work

Abstract

Sawahan Karangpandan Village is one of the villages in Karangpandan, Karanganyar Regency, and it is a strategic village being a tourism village.Society has not entirely aware of the potential. Mostly, they earned their living by culinary business, planting living barn plants, decorative plants, and farming. It is strategic to be developed as a business during the Covid-19 pandemic. The PPM, the ISI Surakarta team, considers the importance of providing skilful education for the Sawahan Karangpandan community through the thematic Community Service Program in ISI Yogyakarta. The method employed is using Rapid Rural Appraisal (RRA) methodand Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method. The result of Community Service shows that Rapid Rural Appraisal (RRA) method and Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method can provide valuable skills to the community.Because the people in Sawahan village support training activities such as IT-based MSME's promotion strategy, decorative plants and living barn plants-based competition, and education for the strategy to exist during the pandemic. Abstract

This activity aims to give training and accompanying on interior ordering by using waste cardboard. The  activity  is  implemented  based  on  the  phenomena  in  the  pondok  (Muslim  boarding  school) showing that there is the same problem that is limitedness of room and furniture so that the bedroom is  not  conducive  for  studying.  The  activity  will  be  executed  in  Pondok  Pesantren  Ar  Roudhloh Ngringo Palur Karanganyar. The strategy used is the approach of demonstration and appreciation while the method used is speech, discussion, and direct practice. The application of the demonstration and appreciation method is hoped to be able to practice and give appreciation. Partner can directly practice in accordance to his capacity and also measure or give appreciation towards his own work as well as another work in his group maximally so that the services team can train and accompany them suitable to their needs in the field. The result covers: the activity has a positive impact, it can be seen from the rooms that change from the dirty rooms to the clean and tidy rooms even with the simple furniture. The main target of usage cardboard waste extends to the board of building waste which has been available in the Pondok. The success needs for about two months duration. At the beginning,  santri  (learners  at  Pondok)  is  not  interested  in  the  activity  but  finally  they  show  the positive reaction.Keywords: motivation, cardboard furniture, appreciation.

Abstract

This writing explains and traces the culture of Nusantara™s bendawi kriya (crafts) that are stored in the Museum Prabu Geusan Ulun in Sumedang, West Java, which are cultural artifacts as evidence of the skills and abilities possessed by the Sundanese ethnic group in West Java. This Sumedang Museum has various kinds of bendawi kriya relics from the Sumedang Larang Kingdom that are unique and have symbols and meanings in Sundanese culture. The method used in this writing uses qualitative data obtained through several techniques, namely reading literature through library studies of written sources related,  direct observation, interviews with the management of the Pangeran Geusan Ulun Foundation and some of the community, Documentation and reviewing documents related to the Museum Prabu Geusan Ulun, visual photo documentation, collections in the Museum Prabu Geusan Ulun can be concluded that this Sumedang Museum contains various bendawi kriya relics from the Sumedang Larang Kingdom, such as keris, kudi, gamelan, traditional clothes, household appliances, weapons, and chariots that are historical evidence of Sundanese culture in the past that have ethnic cultural traditions of kenusantaran as capital to be globalized according to their times.Keywords: Globalize, Craft,MuseumAbstrakTulisan ini menjelaskan dan menelusuri budaya bendawi kriya Nusantara yang tersimpan di  Museum Prabu Geusan Ulun di Sumedang Jawa Barat  yang merupakan artefak budaya sebagai bukti tentang keahlian, ketrampilan yang dimiliki oleh etnis Sunda di Jawa Barat. Museum Sumedang ini memiliki berbagai macam benda peninggalan bendawi kriya dari Kerajaan Sumedang Larang yang khas dan memiliki simbol, makna dalam kebudayaan Sunda.
